About UEA
Founded in 1963, the University of East Anglia is a leading public research university located in the western part of Norwich. Some of the historical facts about the university are given as follows:
- The attempts to establish a university campus in Norwich were being made in 1919 and 1947 but later both plans had to be postponed.
- Later in 1960, the University of East Anglia was first set up in April for biological sciences and English language studies.
- In 1972, the Center for Climatic Research was established and also founded by the climatologist Hubert Lamb.
