Living in Russia is still cheaper than in most other countries for Indian students. The average monthly costs to live in Russia for Indian students come to around INR 38,000 and  INR 65,000. This range includes the cost of accommodation, food, services, bills and all other costs. Eligibility Criteria to Study MBBS in Russia

To be able to study MBBS or an equivalent course in Russia, you must fulfil the following conditions:

1. Age: You must be at least 17 years old by 31st December of the year of your admission.
2. Class 12 Qualifications: Students must have taken their class 12th exams with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the main subjects.
3. Class 12th Qualifying Marks: You must obtain at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in your class 12th examinations. (Note: This percentage may change as per the college of your choice, make sure to check the requirements before proceeding with application). 
4. NEET/NExT: Now the NEET and the FMGE exam are replaced by the National Exit Test (NExT), which is a mandatory exam and acts as a gateway to postgraduate admissions and also for getting professional certificate.

Note:- An important point to note here is that the Russian medical university that Indian students choose to study in must be listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) - for them to be eligible for the NExT exam.

A Note for Safety for Students: Since Russia and Ukraine are at war, many students and their parents are under constant stress for the safety of the students. As of now, the Indian Embassy in Moscow has issued no advisory against Indian students travelling to Russia for academic purposes in 2026, but students should register with the Indian Embassy on arrival and keep emergency contacts updated.
