History
The university's original name was the University of Kent at Canterbury chosen in 1962. During that time, UKC became a popular abbreviation for the university. The University of Kent at Canterbury was granted its Royal Charter in Jan 1965. The main campus of Kent University is located in Canterbury. There are six colleges at the Canterbury campus. Canterbury as a city has a warm and friendly atmosphere.
