University of Portsmouth signs agreement with STADIO Higher Education
The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the university has entered a new partnership with the STADIO Higher Education in South Africa. The private higher education institution in South Africa offers more than 50 undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications via contact learning and distance learning to over 20,000 students.
Under the agreement, both partners will develop academic programs, do joint research, exchange students and faculties and provide funding for applications.
“We are thrilled to be signing this Memorandum of Understanding with STADIO Higher Education and are absolutely committed to growing this partnership. I look forward to seeing how the collaboration develops in the future. This initiative builds on other recent cooperation initiatives, such as the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, which are strengthening our global reputation and delivering solutions that improve society," said Dr Nick Pamment, Director of Innovation in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is internationally recognised for its study of crime. It is part of the Police Education Consortium, consisting of 4 UK universities. It recently celebrated 17 successful years of partnership with the Botswana Police Service, whereby it accredits the Pre-Service Training Programme at Botswana Police College.
