Founded in 2003, the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering is a public engineering institution that falls under the institutional umbrella of the Arizona State University, & one of the exclusive group of universities in the United States to be granted the: Research Extensive status by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

Nicknamed the Fulton Schools, the institute houses about 8 sub-schools as part of the ASU campus, which offer specialised courses in the fields of Biology, Computing, Electrical Engineering, Matter Sciences, Manufacturing and Sustainable Engineering among others.

It is among an exclusive group of institutions in the region to be accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology: ABET.

History

The institute was initially named the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences, at the time of its establishment in the 1960s, however, after an USD 50 million endowment in 2003 by the CEO of the Arizona-based Fulton Homes: Ira A Fulton, it changed its name in his respect to its present name: Ira A Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Since receiving the funds, the institue has seen an exponential growth, increasing the number of courses & the streams it covers, while also expanding its research facilities, to accommodate the latest industry standard technologies.

In 2021, it introduced the School of Maufacturing Systems & Networks as part of its Polytechnic campus, that primarily operates around the idea of engineering innovation & technology developments, that includes autonomous systems, & systems engineering.

The institute is currently in the middle of accepting admission applications for Fall 2025 entry to its graduate programs.

2025 entry to UG programs is however are now closed.

The institute recommends interested candidates to apply as early as possible, because the institute receives thousands of applications for admissions to its few hundred seats & cannot guarantee seats to every eligible candidate.

• Minimum 1210 SAT combined evidence-based reading & writing plus math score
• Minimum ACT combined score of 24
• Minimum 3.00 GPA
• Top 25% class ranking in high school
• No high-school math or science competency deficiencies

The admission requirements for PG courses is slightly different & is as mentioned below:

• Some courses may require a valid general GRE score
