Louisiana State University History
The Louisiana State University Agricultural and Mechanical College had its origin in many land grants that were made by the US Government in 1806, 1811, and 1827 to become a seminar of learning. Later, in the year 1905, the university had admitted its first female student named as R. O. Davis and she had received admission for a masters degree. After a two-year experimental program, LSU had opened admissions for female students in 1908.
By the year 2020 during fall season, Louisiana State University was known to be one of the most diverse and largest freshman class student body. The university has one of the highest student enrollment which includes more than 34,000 undergraduate and graduate students on campus.
