LOR
  • Please submit only two letters of recommendation,
  • preferably from direct supervisors or managers at the current place of employment.
  • Recommendation Questions and Topics :
    • Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and, if applicable, the applicant’s role in your organization.
    • How does the performance of the applicant compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? (E.g. what are the applicant’s principal strengths?)
    • Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant’s response.
ESSAYS
  • Essays are meant to complement the information provided throughout your application to highlight how an MBA fits into your career goals and journey. Strong essays are introspective, genuine, and succinct –  while showcasing a clear vision for your future and the impact you plan to make on the Anderson community. Essentially, we want to learn more about who you are and why an MBA from UCLA Anderson is the right next step in your life.
  • Short Essay Prompts: For the 2024-2025 application year, we have three short essay prompts that are required for first-time applicants:
    • Why are you pursuing an MBA? (150 words)
    • Describe your short-term and long-term post-MBA career goals. (150 words)
    • At Anderson, our mission is to prepare transformative leaders by developing students to think innovatively, problem-solve, and adapt to others – all with a driven and purposeful mindset. How do you plan to achieve your goals and develop into a transformative leader during your time at UCLA Anderson? (250 words)
  • Optional Essay: Are there any extenuating circumstances in your profile about which the Admissions committee should be aware? (250 words maximum)

CV
  • A resume must be submitted with the application and should create a compelling summary of your career, ideally on one page but not more than two pages.

Eye opening and new experiences.
Tips: I initially had great fun when I got here as the campus environment is very happening and welcoming. The cost of tuition and living is quite expensive here and I had to take out a loan. You can do some asking around and see if there are any good scholarship or financial aid options both from your home country as well as the US. Professors expect you to be interactive and classes tend to move at a flow. Group projects tend to get a bit frustrating for me personally.

Learning to live in the unexpected.
Tips: I experienced a lot of growth and changes in myself after coming here. College for me has been a rewarding experience although the job market is very chaotic right now. Things are a lot more unpredictable than it have ever been but if you network here and take the help of your professors, you can possibly buy time.

Buzz filled campus vibe.
Tips: My first couple of months here were both overwhelming and chaotic as there is simply so much going on at all times on campus and the minute you get accustomed to your classes, the semester is over and you have to move on to the next. This university is much more expensive than other of its counterparts so better make the experience worth it if you plan on coming here. Involve yourself in research and projects as they look good later.

Beautiful campus with lots to do.
Tips: My first impression was that the campus is full of life and is filled with people from all over the world especially Indian students. The culture is vibrant, accepting yet competitive. Most on campus opportunities are research oriented or TA roles and the campus itself is quite safe at all hours. The cost of living especially rent can be quite high.
