The University of Bath was established in Bath in 1966 on Claverton Down. It is situated in the southwest of England. In 1966, the university was granted a Royal Charter, officially establishing Bath University of Technology. In 1971, Bath University of Technology became the University of Bath. In 2004, the university launched the SETsquared partnership with the universities of Bristol, Southampton, and Surrey. In 2013, the university became a member of GW4.
