The Houston University acceptance rate is around 70%, for the fall of 2024. Therefore, it may be difficult for International students to get admission to the university because of moderatly high acceptance rate. Applicants must meet the admission requirements and have a valid test score to make their application strong. 

International first-time freshmen may qualify for an application fee waiver. Students can complete the National Association for College Admissions Counseling Fee Waiver Form and submit a PDF copy through myUH account. Applicants must provide their personal information and must meet at least one of the following indicators of financial need:

• Students must be eligible to receive an ACT or SAT testing fee waiver
• He/ she must be eligible to participate in the Federal Free or Reduced Price Lunch programme (FRPL)
• Applicant's annual family income falls within the income Eligibility Guidelines* set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service
• The student’s family receives public assistance
• The student lives in federally subsidized public housing, a foster home, or is homeless
• The student is a ward of the state or an orphan
• Other requests from the high school principal, high school counselor, financial aid officer, community advisor/leader or
• other official who can attest to the student's circumstances

Note: If no item is checked from the above list, the request will be denied.

The application fee for international and domestic students may vary from each other. Houston University application fee for international students applying for undergraduate courses is USD 90 (INR 7,502). Whereas, the application fee for international students applying for postgraduate courses is USD 80 (INR 6,668). The fee covers the administrative costs associated with processing and reviewing the application. Applicants must know that the fees, once paid, are non-refundable irrespective of the application status.

UG applicants can apply via Common App for admission to Houston University. Pay the application fee of USD 90 (Around INR 8k) when you submit the online application.
