Q:   What are the English requirements for the University of New Mexico?
A: 

International students have to submit their IELTS score to meet the English language University of New Mexico requirements. However, the university also approves other English tests such as TOEFL, PET, and Duolingo were completed within 2 years of the applicant's course date at the University of New Mexico rather than the general 2 years. The following score is the requirement of IELTS for UG and PG for the University of New Mexico:

A: 

Admission to the University of New Mexico is moderately competitive. The university wants well-rounded applicants excelling in extracurricular activities as well as in academics. Candidates with unique ideas and innovative interests will surely stand out. It is suggested that applicants should highlight their unique experiences, interests, and perspectives to help the examiner or the interviewer understand the applicant's potential. Students must talk about experiences and challenges that they've overcome, as that shows how the candidate takes on tasks during tough times. Q:   How do you qualify for the New Mexico scholarship?
A: 

Below are the qualifications an applicant must have before applying for the University of New Mexico:

  • Applicants must be full-time students to avail of the scholarships.

  • Prospective students must have a good GPA, a minimum of 3.5 GPA on a US scale in upper secondary/ high school coursework  

OR  

  • 3.0 GPA on a US scale AND either an ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1240 

  • Non-immigrant visa status (Preference is given to student visa holders- F1 or J1.) 

  • Lastly, students are automatically considered, which means international students will only be offered one scholarship and can’t combine the aforementioned awards with any other UNM scholarship.
