CAT exam is a national level MBA entrance exam conducted by the IIM. Every year, over 2.3 lakh candidates apply for it. Since the last two years, the competition has increased further with oveer 3 lakh candidates applying for the exam.
The CAT score is accepted by the Iims and all top MBA colleges in India. To select the best candidates from over 3 lakh test takers there is a need for stringent criteria. That's why, the CAT exam is tougher than other MBA entrance exams. Even though the syllabus of CAT is same as that of other MBA entrance exams, the question paper set by the IIM faculty always has tough questions. Moreover, CAT has sectional time limit for each section which is not there in any other exam except XAT. Having a time limit for each section adds pressure on candidates to complete solving adequate number of questions in a section within the time limit. If a student is weak in a particular subject, they can't use the time as per their need. CAT's Reading Comprehension passages are long and dense unlike other MBA exams. This is one more reason why most candidates feel CAT is tougher than any other MBA entrance exam.
Upon a comparison of fees for the two-year MBA programme at Sushant University and Great Lakes Guwahati, Sushant University charges a fixed fee of INR 5.5 lakh for the course. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati admission requires the candidates to apply for the candidature online. As such, candidates must apply for enrollment in the admission process.
Also, candidates are required to appear for the accepted entrance exams, such as JEE Main/ JEE Advanced/ GATE or other equivalent exams, depending on the course. Candidates have to register for the JoSAA counselling or any other counselling process advised by the course eligibility criteria of the institute. Admission to the MSc course is based on merit in IIT JAM followed by CCMN counselling. Yes, IIT Guwhati offers separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There are eleven boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels for accommodating students with their own individual rooms. The accommodation is single-seater. These hostels are equipped with all modern amenities. Each of these hostels has its own mess, canteen, stationary shop, juice center, pantry, indoor games facilities, gymnasium, music rooms, library, TV room, laundry room among many other facilities with uninterrupted power supply.
IIT Guwahati has a seat intake of 114 for the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) specialisation offered under the BTech programme. This seat intake has been derived from the official website of JoSAA. At the time of counselling, candidates are admitted based on their rank in JEE Advanced and in accordance with the seat intake and the reservation policies.
IIT Guwahati has a seat intake of 33 for MDes, including 13 seats for the General category. The institute reserves 3 seats for the EWS General category and 9 seats for OBC-NCL.
