The Consortium of NLUs is likely to begin the CLAT 2027 Application Process in August 2026. The Consortium will first release the CLAT Notification 2027 that will carry all important details like CLAT 2027 Exam Date, Application Process and other details. Read further to know more.
The CLAT 2027 notification is expected in July and registration process will begin in August, tentatively. The CLAT 2027 examination will be held on December 6, 2026 (tentatively). The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). The entrance exam is conducted for admission to 26 NLUs. CLAT 2027 New Exam Pattern to be out soon. The Consortium has formed a Committee of Independent Academic Experts to provide recommendations for revising the CLAT Syllabus and pattern. CLAT Exam will be conducted on December 6, 2026 (tentatively)

CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the qualifications set by the Consortium of NLUs before applying for the CLAT entrance exam 2027 UG. It must be noted that there is no age bar, which means CLAT 2027 Exam can be attempted by anyone who fulfills the CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria. Candidates should check the CLAT eligibility criteria below:

According to the CLAT exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. CLAT 2027 Registration Form

The first step to the CLAT 2027 exam is to register. The CLAT Application Form will be released on the official website. Candidates will have to complete the registration process to fill the application form. Candidates can check the CLAT 2027 Registration steps below:

  • Click on ‘New Registration’ tab
  • Enter details like mobile number, email ID, password etc.
  • You will receive an OTP on the number you provided
  • Enter to verify your account

CLAT 2027 Application Correction Window

The CLAT application form correction window for 2027 will be opened at consortiumofnlus.ac.in once the registration process is over. This will help candidates to edit their CLAT Application Form 2027 before finally submitting it. Candidates can follow the steps to make corrections in the CLAT application form 2027 as under:

  1. Click on the CLAT 2027 application correction link
  2. Login using mobile number and password
  3. Click on the Edit Application button
  4. Go to 'Category and Seat Reservation' for NLU preferences, as well as the Personal details tab for OBC category status, whether Non-Creamy Layer or Creamy Layer
  5. Make the required changes, Click on the Next button
  6. Click on the declaration checkbox, and Save to submit the changes

CLAT 2027 Syllabus

The CLAT exam syllabus for both the UG and PG is different. The CLAT 2027 UG examination paper will carry 120 questions. Candidates must note that no marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. However, for each incorrect answer, -0.25 marks will be deducted from the final score. The CLAT 2027 paper will be passage based which is followed by MCQs. 

Subject-wise breakdown and weightage

It is very important to understand the subject-wise division of marks and questions to prepare. The question paper will be divided into five sections: English, current affairs including general knowledge, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, and mathematics. CLAT 2027 Admit Card

CLAT 2027 Exam Day Guidelines 

The Consortium will release the CLAT Exam Day Guidelines 2027 along with the hall ticket. The candidates must strictly follow the exam day instructions. Check out the major CLAT exam day guidelines that candidates will have to follow before and after entering the test centre below: 

  • Passport-sized photograph (same as the one uploaded with the application form)
  • A valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter ID)

CLAT 2027 Cut-Offs Expectations

The Consortium publishes the CLAT Rank List in the format of opening and closing ranks of each NLUs. Candidates can download the CLAT Merit List 2027 PDF by visiting consortiumofnlus.ac.in. It must be noted that the Consortium will release a separate merit list after each round of CLAT counselling.

The Consortium publishes the CLAT Answer Key 2027 PDF in two phases: Provisional and Final. Candidates can raise objections against the provisional answer key. Once the objections are received and cross-checked, the Consortium will publish the CLAT 2027 Final Answer Key.

Candidates must note that the CLAT Answer Key PDF 2027 will be released online only. Those who appeared for the CLAT Exam can download and calculate the raw score from the answer key. Candidates can download the CLAT 2027 answer key through these steps

  • Click on CLAT answer key link present on the official website.
  • View, download and save the answer key and question paper PDF.

How to Raise Objections on CLAT Provisional Answer Key?

Candidates can raise objections on the CLAT Answer Key against the questions/answers with which they are not satisfied. It must be submitted before the CLAT Objection Window 2027 closes. Check out the quick steps below

  • Log in using your registered mobile number and password.
  • Click on the Submit Objections button.
  • Select the type of objection (1) About the question or (2) About the answer key.
  • Enter objection details.
  • Click on the submit button.
  • Click on the Make Payment button to make a payment of INR 1,000 per question.

CLAT 2027 Results 

Once the CLAT 2027 Exam is over, the consortium will publish the CLAT Results. The scorecard will be release on consortiumofnlus.ac.in and will carry details like marks, All India Rank (AIR), and category rank. Candidates must download it and take print out and printed for use in counselling and CLAT seat allotment.

How to Check CLAT 2027 Result?

Candidates must keep the scorecard carefully until the whole admission process is over. The result will be available online only. Candidates can check their results through these steps:

  • Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Login using the Registration Number and Password 
  • Under Result tab, click on the View Score Card tab.
  • Your result/ scorecard will be displayed on the screen
  • Download and take a printout of result PDF to refer it at the time of counselling registration, and seat allotment process.

CLAT 2027 Counselling 

Candidates who will clear the exam will be called for CLAT Counselling. The counselling process is online and the notification for the same will be released separately. The CLAT Counselling Process 2027 is expected to end with five rounds. After each round of allotment, candidates have options to freeze, float, or exit from the NLU admission process.

CLAT 2027 Counselling Registration Details

Candidates who will complete the registration will only be called for counselling. The Consortium will send an invite to the registered email ID and mobile number of the shortlisted candidates. Yes, students can take admissions to BITS Law School without appearing from CLAT exam. BITS Law School admissions also conducts its own entrance exam called BITS Law Admission Test. Shortlisted candidates need to appear for Personal Interview rounds for admissions.

No, CLAT is not compulsory to take admission in the law courses at Innovative Institute of Law. Candidates are shortlisted based on merit achieved in last qualifying exam. However, the institute accepts CLAT score as well.
