Step 1: IIT Guwahati Application Process
Candidates seeking admission at IIT Guwahati are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. For example, for BTech, candidates are required to apply for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced application. Similarly, for the MSc, IIT JAM application form is required to be completed.

IIT Guwahati Admission 2024: How to Apply?
PG (except for MTech and MSc) and PhD aspirants are required to fill the IIT Guwahati application form and pay an application fee online to be considered for admission. The application fee for PG courses is INR 500 and INR 300 for PhD programme. The application process is explained below:
- Visit the official website of IIT Guwahati (iitg.ac.in). On its homepage, click on the ‘Admission’ tab and choose ‘PG’ from the drop-down menu.
- Click on ‘Application Procedure’ to proceed further. The online application portal opens up. The admission brochure and course structure PDFs can be downloaded from this page.
- Click on ‘New User Register Here'. Fill the registration form with all the details, including name, email ID, contact number, course preference, etc. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins.
- Further, fill in the remaining application form by addressing other details, including guardian info, address of communication, etc. Also, upload a passport-size photograph and signature at this step.
- Pay an application fee in the online mode through SBI payment gateway using a debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
