What is UCEED Exam?

Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is conducted by IIT Bombay under the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee every year for admitting candidates to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) program at participating colleges.

Merely appearing for the UCEED exam or securing a spot in the UCEED rank list does not guarantee admission to BDes programs. Candidates who qualify the UCEED exam need to separately apply for admission as per the procedure prescribed by IIT Bombay. Admission to BDes courses is done based on merit in each category. The merit list is prepared based on the scores obtained by candidates in the written entrance exam.

Aspirants can go through UCEED statistics and develop an idea of the high competition level in the design entrance exam.

UCEED 2022 exam preparation: Last-minute tips

Candidates appearing in the UCEED 2022 exam only have a few hours left to give the finishing touches to their exam preparation. While the preparation you have done until now is invaluable, these last few hours can make a big difference to your score. Here are some tips to maximize scoring chances by following these tips.

  1. Don't start any new topics now - Because it is too late already to try out new things. Instead, use the time to prepare for already studies topics
  2. Practice mock tests and solve sample papers - When solving sample papers, don't keep repeating the same questions. Mix and match. The idea is to broaden your problem-solving skills and test out all the concepts. Mock tests also serve a similar purpose to sample papers, but also give you an exam-like ambiance and help you learn time management.
  3. Quickly go through the notes and important points - You must be maintaining notes of the important points; go through them. Also, if you marked tricky points, areas in your textbooks, revisit those points at least once.
  4. Stay healthy and dehydrated - You need to be in prime health of exam day; only then your brain, mind, and body will respond the way you want them to. So sleep for at least 7-8 hours, drink enough water, eat light and healthy food, and keep a positive mindset. Don't think too far ahead to keep pressure at bay.

UCEED Exam Analysis

UCEED 2022 is yet to be held. Till then, candidates can check UCEED exam analysis for previous year below.

UCEED 2021 exam was conducted on January 17. The examination kept with its ongoing format of three-hour duration, which is further divided into two parts A & B. While part A, worth 240 marks, was held in CBT mode for the duration of 2.5 hours, the part B, worth 60 marks, was a paper-based drawing test of 30 minutes duration.

About 95 per cent of the paper was visual-based. This in itself is always a challenge in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode where the students have to give undivided attention to the screen. However, the overall exam level was more doable as compared to 2020. Get detailed UCEED 2021 exam analysis here.

UCEED 2021 Student Reaction

UCEED 2021 was conducted across 24 cities in India. Most of the students who gave the UCEED 2021 exam shared that the exam was of moderate difficulty and they were able to complete their paper on time. IIT Bombay had ensured that all the safety measures were in place while conducting the UCEED exam during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Check complete UCEED 2021 student reaction.

1098 is a pretty good score in UCEED. Use Shiksha college predictor to know which college he gets in and have a chance of getting into specific college.
