NERIST NEE 2026: The exam body, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), has opened the application correction window which will be open till April 5, 2026. This is one time opportunity for candidates who wish to make edits to their already submitted application form. The exam body released the NERIST Application form 2026 on January 9, 2026, and candidates could apply from at 10:30 a.m. onwards for various Engineering, Technology, Forestry, and Management courses till March 31, 2026.

Before this, they released the notification, as per the NEE 2026 exam dates, the examinations will be held across two days: April 25 and April 26, 2026. Applicants will be able to download their admit cards from April 14, 2026, onwards. The entrance exam will be held offline in exam centres across the North Eastern States.

To register for the exam successfully, students must pay the application fee of INR 1,500 for the General/OBC/EWS categories and INR 1,000 for the ST/SC/PD categories. The NEE exam is conducted for admission to three courses. The NEE-II exam is held for admission to BTech and BSc (Hons) in Forestry, whereas NEE-I is for admission in certificate courses, and NEE-III is for BTech LE admissions. What is NERIST NEE?

The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is an annual entrance exam. It is conducted in offline mode and is held across North Eastern States (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Tripura). It is conducted by North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) for admission of shortlisted candidates into , BTech LE, BSc (Hons) in Forestry, and certificate courses.

NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III are held for admission to certificate courses, BTech & BSc (Hons) in Forestry, and BTech Lateral Entry respectively. The NEE-II is conducted with a single question paper of 150 marks of three hours duration. NEE-II (PCM) is held for students looking to take admission in BTech courses and NEE-II (PCB) is for students seeking admission to BSc (Hons) in Forestry. Students who qualify NEE, have to appear for the counselling rounds conducted by NERIST for admission.

The NERIST NEE admission process 2026 has the following steps -

NERIST Entrance Examination 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Students can check eligibility to apply for NEE 

Age limit: Maximum Age as of 31st July for current academic year is 23 years for students from general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 2002), for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 1999) it is 26 years and for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August 1997) it is and 28 years

Academic qualification: Academic Qualifications for different schemes/modes of NEE-II:

  • NEE-II (PCM): Applicants must have passed/appeared in 10+2/ Higher Secondary/Sr. Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM)
  • NEE-II (PCB): Applicants must have passed/appeared in 10+2/Higher Secondary/Sr. Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB)

NERIST NEE 2026 Application Form

The application correction of NERIST NEE is open till April 5, 2026. The application form for NERIST NEE was released on January 9, 2026 and students could aply till March 31, 2026. Students could apply online for NEE. A printout of the submitted complete application form is to be retained, which is to be submitted at the time of counselling/admission if selected.

How to fill out the NEE Form
The entire process of filling the online application form can be completed in the following steps:
Registration: They can register for the online application process at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (Application Portal–www.neeonline.ac.in).
Activation: The next step is activating the online application with the E-mail ID that receives an Activation Code. This has to be sent to the candidate's submitted Email ID/Mobile No in the registration process.
Programme selection: After the selection of the Program Type & Program Name, the candidate must check the eligibility.
Filling the online form: If the applicant meets the eligibility criteria and continues the Program, the next webpage appears. The applicant is required to click on “Application Details”. The application form will appear on the screen. The applicant is required to fill in the details in the application form.
Uploading scanned images: In the next step, the applicant is required to upload scanned image files of their Photograph and Signature one by one (as specified in points 4 & 5 above).
Filling in academic details: In the next step, the applicant is required to fill in the Academic details.
Choosing exam centre: In the next step, the applicant is required to choose an Examination Centre preference.
Reviewing: Once all the details are filled in, the candidate is required to review the details entered and confirm. No edit will be allowed once the application is confirmed.
Fee payment: Payment of fees must be made online.

Photo & Signature Upload in NEE Form

The scanned passport photo and signature should be:
within 3.5 X 4.5 cm in size
maximum 100 KB in size
".JPEG/.JPG" format

NEE 2026 Application Fee
The application fee for NEE is as follows:
INR 1500 for Gen/OBC/EWS
INR 1000 for ST/SC/PH
Students can pay the fee with a Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking through the payment gateway available on the portal.

NERIST Entrance Examination 2026 Admit Card

Students who registered successfully could download their NEE admit card from the official website from April 11, 2026 onwards tentatively for the test expected to be held on April 26. On the day of the examination, Students must bring their NEE admit card, black ballpoint pen, etc., to the examination hall. Calculator (non-programmable) / Log tables are allowed for NEE-II, NEE-II (Vocational) and NEE-III.

In case of non-receipt of NEE admit card 2026, candidate must bring a photocopy of their Registration Confirmation page and two colour photographs.

NERIST NEE 2026 Answer Key

The NEE 2026 answer keys of MCQ-based NEE shall be uploaded to the admission portal after completion of the test. The answer key shall have the correct answers to all questions asked in the NEE exam. Students can challenge through online mode for verification of NEE answer keys if they are not satisfied with the respective question(s) / answer option(s), for a limited period of time.

The non-refundable processing fee for each challenge is INR 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) plus admissible charges, if any which will be required to be paid online only. Note that, challenges submitted by post/email in person are not accepted, only the online mode shall be accepted.

NERIST NEE 2026 Result

The NEE 2026 results shall be declared on the NERIST website. There will be cut-off marks for the selection of Students through NERIST Entrance Examinations. The result shall be calculated using the marking scheme of the exam and displayed on the website.

NERIST NEE 2026 results are made available separately for three modules (or levels): NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III. NEE 2026 result comprises the list of Students who have qualified in the written test and are further called for the counselling process.

NERIST NEE 2026 Reservation Policy

Students can check the various reservation categories applicable during NERIST counselling:

State quota: It's for students who belong to any of the Eight North-Eastern States. 80% of seats are reserved for students of the 8 (Eight) North Eastern States (10% for each state) as state quota. Besides this, 7% of the total number of seats are filled up with Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) holders of these 8 (Eight) North Eastern States on a merit basis.

All India quota: This is for students who belong to any of the States of India. 10% of the total number of seats are filled up with students under the all India quota.

PD quota: This is for students with 40 to 75% Physical Locomotor Disability (PD) belonging to any of the States of India. 3% of the seats in total are reserved for Physical Locomotor Disabled (PD) persons under the PD quota.

NERIST NEE 2026 Counselling

NERIST Entrance Exam (NEE) 2026 counselling is conducted by the institute after the declaration of the results. The names of the qualified Students are uploaded to the official website of the university. Such Students have to attend the NERIST NEE counselling process according to the schedule released by the authority. During the NERIST 2026 counselling, the Students have to produce all the original certificates at the time of the certificate verification process. Also, they have to submit the attested copies of their documents along with the online Anti-ragging undertakings.
