UTS History
The university began as the New South Wales Institute of Technology in 1964 and later became UTS. Later in 1988, the School of Design at the former Sydney College of the Arts became a part of the University of Technology Sydney 9 faculties and 25 schools were established as a part of the Academic Structure in 1991.
