Q:   Is it difficult to get into Copenhagen University?
A: 

The University of Copenhagen does not officially publish data on the acceptance rate. However, as per unofficial sources, the University of Copenhagen acceptance rate is around 40%. Such a low acceptance rate makes admission in Copenhagen University highly competitive. Thus, making it difficult to get admission into the university for international students, although, the university admits more than 37,500 students annually. Please note that data on the acceptance rate given above it taken from an unofficial source therefore it is subject to vary. 

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for Copenhagen University?
A: 

At the University of Copenhagen, all bachelor’s degree programmes are taught in Danish and require the highest level in Danish or documentation for academic language skills in Danish. In order to be eligible for admission to a bachelor’s degree program, applicants need to fulfill the following admission requirements before deadline. However, over 50 master's programmes are offerd in English language at the University of Copenhage. Check below the minimum admission requirement for international students applying to Copenhagen University. 

  • Completion of a university degree equivalent in level and content to a Danish Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in English language

Q:   Is there an application fee for international students at Copenhagen University?
A: 

Yes students with citizenship outside of country are required to pay fees but applicants with permanent residence permit in Denmark or permit with possibility of permanent residence in Denmark are exempted from this rule. Fees are paid either annually for 60 ECTS or biannually for 30 ECTS depending on program. Along with offer of admission, students will receive information on how and when to pay tuition as well as terms of payment.  For master's programs, non refundable amount of DKK 750 is charged to Indian students. But if application is successful, application fee will be deducted from 1st tuition fee payment.

To get admission at the University of Copenhagen in undergraduate courses, the international students have to prove their proficiency in Danish and English. The reason that the University requires native Danish proficiency, is that the UG level programs are taught in Danish language only.
