Auckland University of Technology History
Auckland Technical School had first opened at Rutland Street with 137 students who had enrolled for night classes in vocational education in 1895. The institution was renamed in 1906 and called as the Auckland Technical College. Later in 1913, it ws renamed as the Seddon Memorial Technical College and by 1939, the college had more than 4,000 students on campus.

- City Campus: Britomart train station and the downtown ferry terminal can be reached on foot in fifteen minutes from AUT City Campus. Public buses stop close to the campus, and AUT shuttle buses operate between the South and City campuses.
- North Campus: Situated in Northcote on Auckland's North Shore, AUT North Campus provides a variety of amenities, such as student housing, cafes, and our the largest gym.
