History
In 1971, the Queensland government decided to start Griffith University. Sir Theodor Bray took over as the first chancellor of the University, with the first graduation ceremony taking place in 1978. In 1982, the Griffith University Campus played host to the 1982 Commonwealth Games. The School of Dentistry was launched in 2003, Griffith Film School and Griffith Sports College in 2004, and the Griffith Health Center in 2013.
