The college is unnecessarily expensive for international students.
Tips: Please reach out to students from your year before you come to university. This can be extremely helpful in making new friends. It's even better if you can meet them in person before you attend. I have seen firsthand how anti-social some people are in college and people who aren't able to find friends on campus have struggled with depression.
Likes (Safety): Sydney is a fairly safe city, with cameras installed on almost every street and campus security available within minutes via a phone call. The campus is about 15 minutes away from the city and from Newtown. While nightlife is not great and everything closes around 6 PM, it is fun if you explore thoroughly.
Dislikes (Value for money): The cost of a university education has gone up in recent years. While local students have to pay a lot of money, international students end up paying 6 times as much. The cost of accommodation, which includes board, room, and other charges, could be a big drain on your finances. There are also things like unit project expenses, which may have to be added on top of the cost of education. It seems like there are a lot of miscellaneous, "add-on" fees to pay.

University of Sydney is very academically oriented university.
Tips: Before joining University of Sydney, students should expect rigorous academics, independence and high living costs. Transition after coming here was smooth and the culture here is pretty laid back. There are certain competitive scholarships available that cover full tuition. I'm satisfied with my experience.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is well connected especially in the main city. You can find buses every other street and trains in almost every suburbs which makes it very easy to navigate throughout the city. Public transport fares are also good.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are usually difficult to find especially ones that are actually related to your academic coursework and professional goals. Some internships, when available, can be very competitive. Guidance is available but it is limited.
