Humber College History
In 1967, Humber College opened at James S. Bell Elementary School. This was a public school on Lake Shore Boulevard West. The North campus was opened by Mayors Edward Horton and Jack Moulton in 1968. By the 1970s, the institute became a post-secondary university. Humber became the first college to offer graduate certifications for university graduates who had completed their degree in general arts or sciences, and job-related training, during the 1990s.
