A Diverse and Student-Friendly University Experience
Tips: Honestly, the best thing about being here is just how many different kinds of people you run into—it’s actually really cool. Just hanging out with everyone from all over the place made me feel like I actually fit in, you know? You’re always picking up like random little bits about different cultures just from grabbing a coffee or chatting in between classes. But honestly, the workload is just non-stop it's a lot. There’s always some deadline or another popping up, so it's basically impossible to have a life outside the library half the time. There are so many deadlines crammed into the week that it’s a total mission to even have a life outside the library half the time. A few of the super intense people managed to land scholarships, but I definitely wasn't one of them unfortunately! I’m pretty happy with it all, though; the uni is solid, and I’m actually really liking the country.
Likes (Student Life): The university has a really good student union. It has its own building named 'Centre for Student Life', which is opposite the main building. Most of the students' concerns/queries are answered there. It has its own bar, 'the Staff', which is one of the best places for students to get connected. The Student Union also conducts icebreaker sessions and YOLO club nights for students to get engaged. Twice a year, they also conduct a fair (I don't remember the name honesty), where all the clubs will have their stalls promoting their clubs. There are several clubs which include the photography club, an anime club, indian society, the LGBTQ+ society, the film club, the music club, the poetry club, the scriptwriting clubs and many more. It's good to go there if you are expecting to get any frrebies from there. They are also supportive during exams and dissertations. The best part of this union is the student lounge, which is open 24/7. This lounge is my favourite study space, and you can also play board games and table tennis inside. This lounge saved my exams and dissertations. It is also a good place to gather your friends. There are several other study places available around the campus: ASSC Library (open 24/7 during winters), and ABACWS (open till midnight).
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Look, Astronomy is really all about research, so your future basically depends on three things: finding a research job (which is super rare), going for a Ph.D. if you’re actually serious about staying in the field, or just pivoting to something else entirely. Since you pick up a lot of tech skills, most people end up moving into IT, data roles, or teaching. But honestly, those fields are incredibly crowded right now, and you’re competing with people from every background imaginable, so landing a job isn't going to be easy. My biggest piece of advice? If you want to be employed by the time your one-year course ends, you’ve got to start hunting in the very first semester. The uni doesn't do placements for you, so the goal for most people is really just getting into a Ph.D. program.

Average at best, expensive for the quality of teaching and guidance.
Tips: They attract students on the basis of their Russell group tag which is helpful at times, but the quality of teaching and helpfulness of faculty were quite disappointing in many subjects. There are very few class professors who actually teach very well. Otherwise, quite an average experience. Cardiff residents are the best people I have met in the UK.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in Cardiff is amazing, plus they have several applications to get around the city and also track buses. Two train stations are also close to the University, in case you want to travel to places during the summer. Buses charge around 2.80 per journey, and 5 if you get a bus pass. Trains are expensive in general throughout the UK.
Dislikes (Internships): Internship opportunities and information are available through the placement cell of my university, but they're not readily provided, have to do a lot of digging to actually find out how to get them. Some resume trips from the placement cell were not helpful at all for finding permanent jobs.

Tips: I have learned a lot in my time spent here and that includes classroom hacks to budgeting trips which have helped me in getting through student life. Tips: My experience has been peaceful, exciting and I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience here. Some modules can feel repetitive but the labs are good and research is taken seriously. You can also gain on field experience here based on your course and department.

Tips: The programme here is very academically strong and professors are great mentors. There are some hidden gems around campus and locals are pretty friendly as well. Pretty calm and good for youngsters to pursue their education. Coursework was crazy intense during the first semester and that took me a second to adjust. Tips: Cardiff is a great place to study journalism if you're truly passionate. You'll meet many like minded people and the faculty here is among the best and well known in the journalism world. Tips: The business school is well known and so are some of the other majors but I have noticed that the classwork leans more towards a theoretical side as opposed to being more practical which can sometimes limit your learning. Nice and peaceful place.
Tips: I had a smooth and comfortable transition here with no major cultural shocks. Space and sizes aren't as big as expected but the city is very friendly and safe. The campus is walkable and you'll be moving around for classes a lot. There are some good hiking spots nearby as well. We tend to cover more of the theory in classes but ultimately, it plays a role.

Tips: I have not had any major cultural shocks other than keeping up with the local accents and timings of places. The university offers a pretty solid education and is better priced than others which has been a plus point. The city is very student friendly as well and not too far from London as well.
Dislikes (Internships): For internships, you'll have to be more dependent upon yourself rather than the university and there are openings but you'll need to have a solid background and projects mentioned in your CV and recommendation letters at times as well from professors.

An incredible space of learning and growth.
Tips: It is very different from what I learned and how I used to learn. I was prepared for a fast-paced learning environment where the focus was on practical applications rather than theory. Learning in this way was difficult at first, but I did get used to it eventually. One area of difficulty was the scholarship. I didn't get one, so I had to pay for all of my education expenses. People are more reserved in public, but they're very warm once you get to know them. Also, try to look out for accommodation as soon as you land. Besides, the faculty is highly knowledgeable, approachable and supportive.

Great place to study and work.
Tips: The weather is one thing in which you experience the change as well as the lifestyle of the people around you. Also, the language is also the barrier that these people have with the accents of here. I got the scholarship of 3500 GBP which was a great help that was availed at the time of admission. It is mentioned in the CAS letter. I am very satisfied with my course and future opportunities in the country.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport in Cardiff is very good and timely. It has a day pass option as well, which is nice. Another great feature they have is the public transport app, which tells you which buses go where, and their departure and arrival times. As far as price goes, it's reasonable -- not too cheap, not too expensive. I think it's about 4.5 GBP per day.
Dislikes (Internships): As far as the internship part is concerned, the student union helps students get jobs, but we have to be adequately skilled. Also, the Student Future department helps students. However, this assistance is only provided because students are also supposed to eagerly look for jobs, but this assistance doesn't always come through because the opportunities are limited. Therefore, you need to be patient.

Tips: You will feel lonely and it is hard to adjust but know that the university has a lot of services and resources to help you adjust better. Try and be more social in the first few weeks to break inhibitions and join social for the first year as much as possible. The university is known to have a good student community and it stands by it. There is something for everyone on the campus from club nights to arts and crafts events. Very buzzing campus. The city centre is vibrant and has many activities to do. It is not impossible to find part-time work in the city, but it is difficult. You need to look in the right places. You can look for opportunities on or off campus. In the city centre, there are many opportunities for casual or permanent work. Overall, I am certainly satisfied with my experiences.

Tips: Everything depends on your mindset and willingness to adjust, its not gonna be easy at all! Every course has some scholarships for international students. There will be lots of cultural shifts, they will change you as a person. I am satisfied with the course/country 7.5 on a scale of 1-10.
Likes (Post study jobs): Not many companies would want to give you a sponsored visa if you don't have work experience in the UK depending on your niche, sponsored jobs can vary from 4-6% (i.e only that % of your course strength might actually land in a sponsored job).
Dislikes (Part time work): In this economy and high rate of immigrants, finding a job part-time isn't that easy. It might take you a few months 3-6 depending on your applications and effort. You can earn about 700-800 3 per month if you work 20 hrs per week. Very manageable with studies if you're a hard worker.

Cardiff University is amazing in terms of study and student life.
Tips: The transition was very smooth, my peers and teachers were very friendly and I was able to make amazing friends. I had a scholarship for academic excellence (90% in 10th and 85% in 12th). It was a scholarship of fee education by 33000. My University caters to my every need, the faculty on my course is spectacular and Cardiff is very easy to travel in and amazing for student life.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are all very experienced, pioneers of their fields, friendly and helpful with students. There is so much to learn from them. We have office hours for doubt clarification and professors frequently reply to all your doubts by email. The teaching method is very interactive and makes the subject really interesting, the professors like using real life examples to connect us with the concept. The faculty is very diverse and they are friendly.
Dislikes (Value for money): The international fees is obviously quite a lot but you do get some very good opportunities and interact with some of the leading researchers in Physics which kind of makes it worth it. The fee is reasonable compared to other UK universities and hence provides fairly decent value for money.

The struggle is real. Not fit for freshers, come with experience.
Tips: The course was pretty basic. So I think just know how to struggle. I am not satisfied with the course and country due to bad situations. Also, housing crisis is going on. No scholarships were provided. Cultural shift is real. Please don't come if you are fresher. They charge for graduate VISA as well. Now they have increased the fee to 3000 pounds.
Likes (Student Life): Overall student life is fun. There are Bollywood parties, you can play football in the park and enjoy with your friends roaming in the UK. There are multiple events like diwali, holi for Indian students. Also, lot more things, you can play cricket, go to trips etc.
Dislikes (Value for money): No part time jobs are available. No professional jobs, as a fresher, you need 1-3 years of experience. You should not come to UK for I think the next 3 years. Also, teaching is okayish. Don't come if you are expecting salaries like USA. You have to buy graduate Visa for 3000 which is valid for 2 years. Public transportation buses are cheap, trains are costly.

A Supportive Learning Experience at TU Dublin – Tallaght
Tips: If you're heading to the Tallaght campus, the absolute biggest shock is how much everything relies on you driving your own studies. The lecturers are actually super sound and approachable if you catch them after class, but they aren't going to chase you down for assignments—you either stay on top of the independent coursework or you drop behind fast.
The campus itself has solid facilities, and there's a decent buzz around the clubs and societies if you actually bother to show up and get involved. Honestly, I'm really glad I chose TU Dublin. Ireland is an incredibly safe, welcoming place to live, and the quality of the modules is top-tier. Just a heads-up for anyone moving here: start hunting for student accommodation the exact second you get your offer. The Dublin housing market is an absolute nightmare right now, so sorting your place to stay early is way more important than worrying about your books.

TUD - best decision ever
Tips: I lived abroad from my childhood, so I did not face any cultural shift. There are no scholarships at TUD, so you can try applying for government scholarships. I am very satisfied with my university, as it's the best in the fields of engineering, science, and technology.
Likes (Safety): I haven't faced any issues. Make friends with everybody. Don't hesitate to talk to anyone there. Being easygoing with everyone in Dublin will help you more than facing issues. Avoiding stereotypes about racism can help you connect with a lot of people.
Dislikes (Internships): Apply for internships from the start and graduation roles the year before. Get support from the groups in the university. Applying from the start is a wise decision, and could emails on LinkedIn help? If you don't apply from the beginning, you don't get it. Make sure to use the Irish format for the CV and add tools and skills you know to the CV.

A Balanced College Experience with Strong Faculty Support
Tips: If you're planning on coming here, just be ready to actually put the work in from day one because juggling the classes requires some serious time management. Settling in wasn't too bad for me though the culture shock was definitely real at first when it came to hanging out with people from completely different backgrounds but honestly it helped me grow a lot and learn to adapt.
The learning setup is decent, but nobody is going to hand you anything on a silver platter; you really have to go out of your way to find internships or join clubs. I didn't get any scholarships myself, but I know they have a few financial aid and merit options up for grabs if you qualify. Looking back, I'm pretty happy with my choice. The professors actually support you, the campus facilities are solid, and there’s plenty of room to grow both personally and academically.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I gave the faculty a 5 because honestly, the professors here are top-tier. They really know their stuff, but more importantly, they’re just super easy to talk to. You can easily catch them after class or drop by to sort out any doubts, which makes a massive difference when you're trying to actually grasp the material.
The way they teach is really solid, too. It’s not just boring lectures—they bring in real-world examples and case studies that keep things interesting, and they actually get everyone talking instead of just talking at us. Plus, the department has a really good mix of people. You’ve got professors who spent years in the industry mixed with academics from all sorts of different backgrounds, which brings a ton of fresh perspectives into the classroom.
Dislikes (Part time work): I gave part-time work a 3 mostly because finding a job on campus is a total lottery. There just aren’t enough openings to go around, and even if you try to get something basic like a library gig or desk work, the competition is insane. You can find off-campus stuff like retail, internships, or freelancing, but trying to juggle that with classes is exhausting, especially with commuting and strict shifts. The uni workload is already so heavy that it’s hard to commit to regular hours anyway. Plus the pay is pretty average and usually just 5,000 to 10,000 a month which honestly doesn't feel worth it when you factor in all the time and effort you’re putting in.

Hard to find part-time jobs.
Tips: When you join college Especially for the Masters student, get your ID card and student enrollment form sorted as soon as possible so that u get an IRP. Apply as soon as possible and do not delay. The university also has 2 football fields and a very good library where you can access books. And for the students coming from India keep a atleast a 3 to 4 months expenses at least.
Likes (Student Life): In college student life is good and the student council and staff are supportive. We can join many clubs and can stand-up for the student council selection and many other activities are done for the students wellbeing. Not to forget It also has a gym facility and 2 big football fields.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time is a bit challenging as our Stamp 2 visa says only 20 hours a week during college. Whereas the part time sometimes varies from 25 to 30 hours mandatory in a few companies. Part-time work is challenging because after long shifts students feel tired, have less time to study, and struggle to manage classes, assignments, and personal life at the same time.

Tips: Have some relevant work experience. If you're a fresher it's really tough for you to find a job. The university doesn't matter so do a lot of networking which is important than the university. I got a scholarship from the university and I got it while applying to the university. I'm satisfied with the university as I just needed a reason to enter the country so the university doesn't matter a lot to me.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is awesome in Ireland and you can also connect with lots of international students and gain a lot of exposure. Many groups and clubs are being organised by the college but I don't have time to be a part of them as I was also doing part time job and was also focusing on my course.
Dislikes (Internships): The university provides us with some graduate programme groups letting us know about the opening but if you have skills and work experience you can get an internship but if you are a fresher, it's really hard to get an internship. I got the internship has I had some relevant work experience.

TUD is a wonderful place to learn for those who are interested in exploring and trying new things.
Tips: TUD is a prestigious institution. We have to learn a lot on our own and must try to use the resources available in college. TUD has an international helpline for its students as well. So it'd be easy for international students. Assignments are fine as well. Requires some time and effort.

Academic-oriented college with highly knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: This is an academic-oriented college. Students have to focus more on academics rather than a part-time job. We have a lot of assignments and presentations as well. The college is more strict towards studies, and they keep students engaged in studies with a lot of assignments. There are very few part-time jobs available on campus. It's a little tough managing part-time jobs and academics. The average payout is 13.70 in Dublin. If students want to really study, they should opt for TUD, which is a prestigious university with the best in their profession teachers. Overall, TUD is a top-notch college academically.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a good number of Indian restaurants in Dublin, including Southern Spices and BBQ Tonight, which are two of the best ones. I personally prefer to cook my own food, though, because it's a little too expensive to eat at restaurants all the time. I would recommend cooking your own food if you're on a budget or just don't want to spend a ton on restaurant food.

TU Dublin: A great academic experience in a vibrant but expensive city.
Tips: TU Dublin has a strong focus on practical learning and industry connections. The campus is spread out, so getting familiar with all locations early on is helpful. Dublin can be expensive, so budgeting and financial planning are important. Academic expectations are high, so be prepared for independent learning. TUD does not provide any scholarships for students as far as I know. Dublin is a welcoming city, but learning to navigate its busy pace and social dynamics might take time. TU Dublin offers a good academic environment with diverse programs, but it can be demanding. The country is rich in culture and history, and Dublin is a vibrant city, but the cost of living can be a downside.
Likes (Safety): TU Dublin has strong campus security with 24/7 monitoring and emergency contact points that are spread across the campus. Students feel safe on campus because of continuous security monitoring. Sometimes it's a bit unsafe to go alone in less crowded areas, especially during nights.
Dislikes (Part time work): TUD has very limited on-campus part-time opportunities and is highly competitive because of the number of students enrolled in the university every year. There are few options off-campus in retail but it's difficult to balance that with the academics. The average payout is 12.7 per hour.

Tips: I was born here so I kind of had an idea of what it's gonna be like adapting to the university. The course I studied was really good and the lecturers were really nice and friendly I really liked the course. A lot of theory and learning to do but if it's the course for you it won't be hard to get used to it plus the people in your course can help you out !

Finest and biggest especially the city campus has good labs.
Tips: It's a public university and one of the top one in Ireland. They help in every aspect to develop ourselves. There is no scholarship for my course but the fees is affordable. I am satisfied with my university and the course. Ireland is also a very welcoming and good nation to study.

This place requires hard work.
Tips: Students need to be very proactive. The students will be pressured to work very hard. No scholarships are being provided unless you are an excellent student. I am quite satisfied with my university as I don't mind working hard.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors here in the university are good but not very well versed in teaching. The way they teach is they will display a PowerPoint presentation of the topic and then deliver a lecture about it. That is the form of teaching that we experience here.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Post study job opportunities are not very widely available. It is easier to get a job if you have experience. But if you lack experience it is harder to land a job. The issue of visas also comes into the picture. The recruiter mostly prefers people with 1g visa.

Great university and great faculties
Tips: It’s a great university for technical courses, being a technological university, so choose it for those courses. I would suggest you check the critical skills list and check out which courses will help you get into the critical skill jobs, which will help you maximize your investment.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The critical skills employment permit is a great way to easily get a permanent immigrant or even naturalization status. It takes only 2 years on CSEP to get permanent resident status and after just 5 years you can apply for naturalization too, which is a great perk.
Dislikes (Safety): The city has a drug addiction problem, there are junkies everywhere in the city, and if not junkies you’ll face alcoholics who’ll harass you for money. Although if you are street smart, these issues won’t bother you much and you can pretty much enjoy your life here.

Worth the course and worth the risk.
Tips: College is really excellent for those who want to study and excel in academics. Plenty of options for cocurricular activities. Grad events and programs are also good. Best to engage with different groups of people from various cultures and backgrounds.
Likes (Internships): Internships are not really required, you can just finish your thesis. But they are worth it if you wanna improve your portfolio and resume. Certifications do help as an add on. Guidance is maximum. The professors are the best and they are always helpful and knowledgeable
Dislikes (Safety): Dublin is not really safe for people anymore. We see a lot of riots theft, and robberies everyday. Can’t buy a two wheeler. Cars are robbed. Stabbing in Talbot Street. Racism in the corner. It is manageable for big, fearless guys like me. But I see a lot of innocent students living in fear, which is really bad.
