Tips: The programs here are decent and detailed but they lack approach in certain aspects. The faculty is very knowledgeable and has helped in shaping my perspective as well. Downtown is filled with activity and has some nice places to explore although the rent here is higher. Good for independent learners.

Tips: I have had an enjoyable and insightful journey here and I personally found the campus to be quite welcoming and happening as well. Everything here is quite accessible as well be it the metro, shopping avenues and pubs as well because the university is located downtown. Tips: My experience here has taught me a lot about how to navigate in a different country, be independent and resource management as well. CSU is good with their flexibility and that they are project intensive if you are more of a practical learner as compared to theory. It can be better in terms of safety especially after sunset, so you should keep this in mind. Overall, a good place to learn.

Tips: My university does pretty well in certain programs such as in CS courses, although I have noticed several discrepancies in the way courses are structured and classes could be organised in a better manner. Tips: There were culture shocks in terms of behaviour cues and expressions but people were kind enough to have an open mind and ease to them which made setting in easier. The coursework is really reading intensive but the extra credit work at times is more out of the box and interesting and helpful in boosting your grade so didn't skip that. Try to live as near campus as possible to save on commute expenses.

Tips: My experience in Texas state so far has been pretty positive here with good professors and peers. The faculty is truly knowledgeable in their fields and classrooms often have a lot of industrial knowledge included. Tips: I did experience several cultural shocks, but at small scales and nothing too out of the ordinary. People are friendly and open, which made things a bit reassuring. Classes are research intensive, but they could be conducted in a better format honestly. Scholarships are given out mostly on a merit basis, and it is helpful in easing the financial burden of the cost of tuition here. There are frequent career fairs and you shouldn't hesitate to check them out.

Tips: Location and cost of tuition are both on the higher side so make sure you have thought it through and explore your options as well. Very busy campus, and professors are helpful for job prospects and networking opportunities if you connect with them. Can be better in terms of safety.
Dislikes (Part time work): Limited opportunities for part time both on and off campus. On campus, you'll have better chances if you look at some of the less sought after options and if you're able to adjust it in your schedule while managing your workload as well. There are teaching and research assistantships as well.

Tips: Cultural differences are almost everywhere, but it is a part of the process and as long as you're observant and respectful of people's time and space, you'll be fine. The quality of education is good but somehow the cost of tuition is unjustified. You'll get good access to internships and events and if you take advantage of it, it can really help you out. The student body is supportive and there is a help centre for any extra assistance you might need.

Tips: For me, the environment was new but not familiar, as I had spent most of my educational journey away from my hometown, so settling in wasn't particularly difficult. In an environment such as this, you have to be more proactive with both social groups and in the classrooms. Job opportunities are limited and you'll need at least a Master's to stand a chance. Rent depends on location and where the campus is can be a bit more expensive than the rest, but there are a lot of computers.

IU Bloomington provides a wide range of opportunities.
Tips: I would say come prepared with good projects in your resume, manage yourself and work hard. The initial days might be hard, but slowly it gets better. This university is really good for international students and I would recommend it to many, apart from Indian students. The data science courses here are some of the best in the USA, and there are plenty of opportunities.
Likes (Part time work): The on-campus part-time jobs are many in dining, and any student can easily get into one before coming here. I got mine before coming here; many students do. The assistantship opportunities are also many, and there are organisations like CNS, UITS, and the Housier Community Centre which pay well. A student can easily survive on the expenses in Bloomington with a part-time job. And maybe on the starting days might be hectic to manage things, but slowly we get used to those.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I do not wish you to permanently immigrate to the USA. I always wanted to get back to India. And this particular question cannot be answered in a university-specific way now. Indeed, I can say IUB is one of the best universities for international students, with plenty of opportunities giving OPT.

Tips: When you are moving to the U. S from India, there is a notable cultural shift, but it's manageable with time. The communication style here is more direct and informal. People love their personal space, it's a two-way street, you respect their personal space and they respect yours. When it comes to the educational system in the U. S, its emphasis more on critical thinking and your participation in the class matters a lot unlike the lecture-based and rot memorization methods followed in India. The assignments and projects require your own input and the grades are earned solely through your efforts and contribution. Plagiarism is highly offensive and unacceptable here, you will not get away with it, so it's advised to show academic integrity at all times. I'm highly satisfied with the university's academic quality, course offerings and the opportunities it provides.

Do not expect good placement.
Tips: Placements are not really good for the amount of fees paid. Amenities are good but still, the college fee is at a higher price point. Education quality is good. Most of the professors teach really well, but with the higher acceptance rate into the college, the quality of the student environment turns poor.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is available for free to commute and takes less than 20 minutes. Most of the buses are crowded during the class timings, but other times they are mostly empty. Transportation is not available 24/7. Saturdays and Sundays they are only available between 10 to 6.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): College doesn't really help in securing jobs. Out of 100 companies that come to career fairs, only 2 to 3 are willing to take international students. Most opportunities are for experienced people rather than freshers. It would be a good idea to come here after having some experience.

Tips: Lots of work to do, all around from course to change in lifestyle, part time etc. Be mentally prepared.
