Essex, pretty okay place to be.
Tips: People are really friendly. A lot of opportunity for a social life. Colchester is small so you will run out of things to do pretty quickly. The academic facilities are amazing for STEM. Professors are super helpful and friendly, lots of advice for careers are also available on campus.

University of Essex has a great student life but right now the job market in the UK is very bad.
Tips: The University of Essex is a good university located a bit outside of the town centre. The campus is good and charming, and the Data Science course is good if you are looking five years ahead. However, the job market is tough, and securing a job is difficult. The UK market is flat currently, so I would not recommend anyone doing a master's degree from the UK.
Likes (Public transportation): The town is small, but the transportation system is really impressive. There are bus stops everywhere, and the buses run on time. The buses are clean and comfortable, and the drivers are courteous. You can even track your bus using the FirstBus app. The app shows you the location of your bus in real-time, so you can see exactly when it will arrive.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition is high, the quality of education is poor, and the job market is tough. However, the campus is good, and you have 24/7 access to libraries and computer labs. You'll enjoy university life but be prepared to put in a lot of effort in your job search.

The college is great and offers variety of courses and the campus is the best.
Tips: If you want to go to a university with a good campus, then the University of Essex is the place to go. However, some of the courses they offer are not as good as others, so choose your course based on the ranking. The university ranks well for students with a math background, but they offer a variety of courses with slightly different modules, so choose the course that is right for you. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Safety): I felt safe walking to the university, even though it was a bit of a distance from the city. The surroundings were good and secure, and I never felt unsafe. It was convenient to travel there, but it was still safe to travel.
Dislikes (Value for money): Even after getting the scholarship, the quality of education for a particular course was not that good. Some of the professors weren't as good as expected, and the college only lasted for 6 months. After that, you would have to work on your major project from home.

University of Essex is good. Part-time is less.
Tips: There are no part-time jobs, students are living in London for their part-time job.
Students should come here with some prior knowledge.
Don't take exams slightly.
If you love nature then Essex is the best place to live in.
If you really want to study then University of Essex is good, but if you want to do more things along with your studies then go somewhere near London.

Great academic support online and offline.
Tips: Take a Forex card before coming here. It's very helpful. Getting your BRP, a sim card, and a bank account here, should be the first things you do after arriving here. Learn some basic cooking, otherwise you will end up spending a lot more money on food.

Academic rigor and cultural exploration
Tips: Have no preconceived notions about the country and the people. Do not focus on making Indian friends but make friends with people from different countries and be open to enjoying cultural differences. Spend a of time in the library and stay on campus as it opens more avenues for TA opportunities.
Likes (Safety): The law and order maintenance is really great and the people are really friendly and accommodating to international students. The people don't judge and are very friendly. The student council and faculty are really helpful as well. Also, the environment is very refreshing.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Personally as an Indian, it was different for me to get used to many fast food options so would prefer cooking. Niche ingredients are hard to find as well. Buying food can be really expensive. The flavour profile of the fast food was not to my liking.

A budget ranking university for computer science.
Tips: It is a good university if you’re looking for a budget, ranking and amenities for computer science department. This university is located a bit far away from London which makes it bit hard to travel around in UK. But this gives you the advantage of living on a budget.
Likes (Student Life): This university gives good study exposure, entertainment and affordability in living as it is located a bit far away from the city. As a student, it’s your job to make sure that you make the best out of it by studying and keeping yourself updated for the assignments.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time work in the university is easy to get but you get only a few hours of work. Hence, you may need to find more part time jobs to support yourself. This I guess is the same for all the universities around. This can be easily compensated by finding a job outside the campus.

Campus and faculty are great at University Of Essex
Tips: Campus and faculty are great. Might have to struggle a bit for relevant work experience so if you can ride that out financially, it’s a good experience. The city is great. Limited options when it comes to hanging out but you can always go to London which isn’t far.
Likes (Indian Food): Plenty of food options in the city and online for Indian/South Asian food. Good takeaway options as well. Might help to learn cooking though as delivery fees are a lot and not something I was used to paying. Other than that, plenty of choices for both Indian and other cuisines.
Dislikes (Part time work): It’s slightly difficult to find part time work relevant to my course (MBA) in Colchester as there’s not much work here. So, the part time options are restaurants or call centers, etc. If you get online, you might find work elsewhere around but you’ll have to spend on transportation then.

For sure, it is a brand. You have to decide what you want from the University.
Tips: I would say, please participate in all the activities that come your way. Also, the academic curriculum is a blend of remote classes and physical classes. It is also very important to do a lot of self study so that you can improve your base. There's a very big library and a study center with computers, use that as much as you can.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is good. There's a very active student union that brings in new events every now and then. Plenty of societies to join and a good campus with loads of facilities. Facilities include a gym, sports center and a huge campus with greenery. There are a couple of restaurants and takeaways too. There are also other shops for daily needs within the campus.
Dislikes (Internships): I have done a masters degree. So, we did not have enough time to do an internship. University does not help much in getting an internship. However, there are websites called careerhub and gradintel wherein even alumni can have access and look for internships and jobs, including part time jobs.

Very vibrant and fun student life.
Tips: It is a good learning experience. I would advise trying to make the best of opportunities from the start. There was a transition in terms of lifestyle, classroom experience, weather, and overall culture. I received a £5000 scholarship based on merit. Satisfied with my course, but I believe there could be more feedback from lecturers and support for career opportunities.

The new chapter away from home.
Tips: Shifting here made me more independent and responsible. There was a cultural shift, it was for the good, as it was so refreshing to interact with people from different backgrounds. I am extremely satisfied, I do miss my country sometimes but here I feel at home too.
Likes (Safety): There is always a police presence on campus, and at night the streets are well-lit. Also, there are CCTV cameras throughout the city. On my first day, I got lost but a stranger not only showed me around but also bought me a coffee.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food is nice and affordable. However, there are not many options for international students. There are at least two Indian restaurants, one of which is very affordable. I usually cook for myself, but going out to eat occasionally is nice.

Well balanced university experience but the job market is so competitive.
Tips: Before you enrol in any program, make sure to do your research. The job market is highly competitive and is dependent on skills more than the school attended. If you’re a fresher, take your time and don’t make a hasty decision. Research which universities offer scholarships. The decision should also be based on your budget and career goals.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality of the faculty is so good. They are highly qualified professionals in their field, and they are also highly knowledgeable, unlike other university professors who are not as good in their field. They also support the students in all possible ways to enrich their knowledge and to get full-time jobs.
Dislikes (Indian Food): While there are some commendable efforts to cater to diverse tastes, the options are limited and often lack authenticity. The flavour and spices frequently don't match what I'm accustomed to, and the variety is restricted. However, I've discovered a few places that do a decent job, and I appreciate the attempt to provide options for people like me. The issue lies in the execution, where the dishes sometimes feel like a compromise between authenticity and adaptation to local taste. This results in a flavour profile that doesn't entirely resonate with my expectations. Despite this, I'm grateful for the few gems that have managed to capture the essence of my native cuisine. To elevate the rating, I'd like to see more authentic options, a broader range of dishes, and attention to detail in terms of spices and flavour. With a bit more effort, the food options could become a highlight of living in this country. As it stands, while there are some good attempts, it's an area that requires improvement to meet the expectations of people from diverse backgrounds.

A lot of events and fun work study balance.
Tips: Students should attend the orientation before the classes start. Get a feel of the campus, go around as the different schools are a bit of a walk. But there are public buses that go around as well. Meet the new students during the orientation.
The university facilities are amazing and is located in the heart of the city.
