My college is good and had all the facilities we needed.
Tips: The whole process is pretty straightforward—you just lock in your course first, and then you can sort out your scholarship application. FedUni also has solid on-campus accommodation options right there, which takes a lot of the stress out of moving.
When I applied, I had to submit all my academic papers and transcripts, and I ended up landing a 20% tuition fee scholarship, which made a huge difference financially. Looking back, I’m seriously happy with the choice I made. Both the campus vibe at Federation and the actual structure of the course completely lived up to what I was hoping for.
Likes (Student Life): We have 2-3 days of college and rest days; we work. There are many events that we have done and got paid for it. There are multicultural communities, so we can interact with people from other countries. We have a students' community hall where we spend time together to communicate.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Look, trying to get PR after finishing up at Federation Uni is a massive headache because Australia's immigration rules keep getting stricter. I mean, it’s technically doable if you manage to navigate their whole points-based system—basically trying to rack up enough points through your regional study options, English tests, and professional years just to tick off all their boxes.
Since FedUni is mostly out in regional areas like Ballarat or Gippsland, you do get those extra regional points, which helps, but honestly? I’m not even planning to stick around and chase that visa. The way I see it, once you graduate, the actual business and startup opportunities out in these regional spots are just way too limited to make it worth the hustle.

Enriching journey with growth, diversity and friendships.
Tips: The college offers a diverse environment, however, students need to be independent and adaptable. I faced some cultural shifts in terms of communication and social life. I received a merit-based scholarship that eases the burden of my tuition fees. Overall, I am satisfied with my course, education and university life.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is very well connected with buses and trains coming very frequently. The campus is just in front of the tram, as it is in the middle of the city. Also, the transportation is affordable witha student concession. The computer is very reliable, affordable and convenient.
Dislikes (Internships): Guidance for the internship is quite limited, with only basic workshops. Students have to look for their own opportunities. Moreover, many options are not directly relevant to the field of study. There is very limited to no networking for students to connect with industry leaders.

Underrated but exceptionally good.
Tips: Make the best use of resources in the university. Reach out when you need help. Try to look for jobs within the university. Have good communication skills. Research about the university and course structure before hand. Have information about the country and general rules.
Likes (Internships): Federation University is the only university in Australia that has the Co-operative model, which means that while studying, a student will definitely do a paid internship in IT, business, engineering or nursing. It is part of the study plan from 2025.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The process of Permanent Residence is a bit expensive and competitive at the moment. Also, the rules regarding immigration and the skills occupation list change quite quickly. If you score well and try your best, it's not impossible either. Also, must follow the rules of the immigration pathway to PR.

The university has a specialized faculty member for each course.
Tips: I have experienced a cultural shift as this place is new to us and I am learning and adopting a new culture over here. I am getting a 20 percent scholarship. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with my university, course and country. It's my best experience to date.
Likes (Safety): The security in college is excellent. No one can have a right to touch you in Australia, and it's beyond the law. Our college has provided a security guard to protect all students and additional security for all international students.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee is justified on the basis of the course. While there are cheaper colleges, they may not be as effective in the long run. The university also has a favourable study schedule that won't interfere with your part-time work.

The university provides us with many opportunities and the faculty are highly accessible.
Tips: It's an amazing place. They provide us with so many opportunities where we can upscale our communication skills, networking, leadership experiences, etc. They also provide wonderful student support.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The faculty are knowledgeable and experts. We are motivated to be active during classes and also to participate in events and activities held on campus.
