MS in Biology - Batch of 2022

Learning and growth has been constant.
Tips: So the courses and academics are quite difficult which I had naturally expected but some of the professors can be really demanding which makes it really hard to balance at times. You can also your student ID to get a number of discounts such as during grocery shopping, at tourist locations and most importantly while computing. There are many events as well held on campus so do participate in it. Overall, I am quite with my experience here.

Great college with lots of activities and events held.
Tips: I feel that studying at Florida International University has been transformative for me both personally and academically. This transformation has been consistent as well. Keep your eye on the campus calendar as there are a number of games, free concerts, and visiting lecturers who keep coming by. Finally, I would say that the atmosphere here is magical and there are clubs for each and every thing such as Astronomy, Animal Welfare, and more.

Ideal for international students
Tips: There are very limited options for transportation so prepare to have everything (groceries) delivered or buy a car.
Getting things delivered is not as expensive, I currently use Walmart + which is $100 a year and you get free shipping, free grocery deliveries, and other perks
Likes (Value for money): This school is full of international students and they offer a variety of funding options such as scholarships, jobs, paid volunteering, etc.
Besides, compared to other 4-year universities FIUs price tuition is relatively inexpensive. I would argue that you are even getting more for your money
Dislikes (Indian Food): They don’t have many Mexican options but they do have Latin American foods throughout the campus.
They have many fast food places such as Starbucks, dunkin, chick fil A, Taco Bell, and many others throughout the campus. They also have their own food court which offers pasta, wok bowls, salad bar, desserts, etc.

Opportunities here are very rare we got to grab them with both hands.
Tips: Cultural shift depends on what kind of person you are; some start adapting to this culture, and a few might need time. I have been offered the Bauer Excellence Scholarship from UH Bauer. It is around $5000, and it makes you eligible for in-state tuition fees, which is 50% of your actual fee.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is too good; you'll explore a lot. The university itself is a great place to hang out. They do have a lot of student clubs, but you'll barely find time to be in them as you will end up spending most of your student life in part-time jobs. But you can explore a lot.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships in the US are highly competitive and significantly tougher to secure compared to those in India. With thousands of qualified candidates around the world applying for a limited number of positions, the selection process is often rigorous.

It’s a good university. Professors are really nice and helpful.
Tips: If you’re a student attending the University of Houston, I highly recommend that you attend the next career fair. The University of Houston is a good university for graduate students. It hosts many events on its campus, and you can make a lot of connections and network with the right people. The professors I’ve had are reliable and easy to talk to. They understand your concerns and help you get through it. They’re friendly and knowledgeable. Love the resources and help I can find at the university. Surely, make connections and network as much as possible. It's a good experience as a graduate student at the University of Houston. There are multiple events that take place, and the campus is a great place, too. There are multiple clubs to join and be a part of. There's so much one can learn and grow. Be a part of the team and network as much as you can.

Go for UoH main campus for quality education and college life.
Tips: Students should educate themselves on the various courses and the part-time positions available. I personally did not avail any scholarships, but there are numerous scholarships to qualify for. The coursework is highly satisfactory, and there is qualified faculty. The quality of education and facilities meets the requirements. The faculty come from varied backgrounds, ranging from Energy, IT, to Food, Service Industries. The experience is worth the fee as it allows individuals to explore personal and professional experiences from a new perspective.
Dislikes (Internships): If you can attend the mixers, internship chances are very high. Though nothing is guaranteed, the chances increase with your participation. The internships will be relevant to your field of study if you target the specific batch of organisations that are of interest to you.

The university is very warm and welcoming to international students.
Tips: It took time for me to adjust because it has been a huge transition for me, but I was helped out by the various events organised by my college for international students. The faculty are very understanding and helpful as well. It was a great way to meet and connect with each other. Plus, I got an on-campus job that pays for my monthly expenses.

Cultural warmth and academic triumph.
Tips: Upon arriving in the USA, I noticed a discernible cultural difference, although it hasn't been overwhelming. Adjusting to the new cultural nuances has been relatively smooth, and I find life here to be simple and easygoing. The people I've encountered have been remarkably kind, friendly and understanding, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The practice of greeting everyone adds a positive touch, making me feel more connected and at ease in this new environment. When it comes to scholarships I have availed of a state tuition waiver. I obtained it by working as an Instructional Assistant in one of the departments. This position not only provided valuable work experience but also granted me a scholarship. While the specific allowance may vary, the scholarship has been a significant financial support. I am extremely satisfied with the university, the course and the country. The university has provided a supportive enriching environment for academic growth.

Highly satisfied with UH’s MS in Computer Science
Tips: The University of Houston is a leading public research university with a strong reputation in computer Science. The MS in Computer Science programme is challenging and rewarding, and the faculty are world class. I have had the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects and learn from some of the brightest minds in the field.

Well facilitated college.
Tips: Coming to the US to pursue studies is a dream come true moment for most people. The college system in the US is slightly different than in India. You can get international student scholarships as well as assistantships if you look into the college job and scholarship portals. For some universities, you can also be eligible for an in-state tuition waiver which reduces your tuition fee to half.
