Good college and well-lit campus.
Tips: I strongly advise students to have a solid financial base, as there are significant costs involved, including semester tickets, tuition fees, and health insurance. I recommend exploring education loan options to cover these expenses; everything else is manageable.
Likes (Student Life): The university is located in a very good location with excellent transportation and comfortable accommodations. The spacious, well-lit campus, coupled with friendly staff, is a major plus. Living in Berlin itself is also a significant advantage, as locals are very friendly and respectful.
Dislikes (Indian Food): It's quite difficult to find authentic Indian restaurants in Berlin. Some are overpriced, while others aren't even Indian. There are also very few vegetarian options. I recommend that people cook their own meals most of the time and eat out only 1-2 times a week.

It is a good option for entry to Germany.
Tips: Before coming to Germany, make sure you have good language skills and financial backup. If you don't get a job, you'll need to survive after your blocked funds are used up. Due to the economic crisis, newly arrived students are experiencing cost-cutting measures that make survival difficult.
Likes (Safety): It's been 6 months in Berlin, and I've travelled here every hour, even at midnight, and there's nothing to worry about. On weekends, Berlin is more lively and vibrant, so no need to worry about safety. Here, on the street, you can find many beggars, but they won't harm you, and there's police available within a minute.
Dislikes (Part time work): The university campus has a high volume of English-speaking students, making it difficult for me to find a part-time job on campus. I was already finding it hard to find work anywhere in Berlin before coming here. I have to learn some skills in the job market of my field before I can come here. If I learn some German, I might have better luck.

The university is good but we are hardly provided with any internship.
Tips: Before joining this university, I would recommend checking online reviews and the alumni of the university on LinkedIn. It’s also important to talk to someone who is currently studying there to find out how they’re managing their studies and what problems they might be facing in their career path and at the university.
Likes (Public transportation): There is a U-Bahn underground train station close to the university and bus stops nearby, making it convenient to access the central train station. The campus is also walkable and accessible by bicycle.
Dislikes (Internships): The college is not helping its students find internships. If they were, then it would be easier for students to get jobs, and easier to advance on their career paths. They should form a network of alumni who have found jobs and can guide current students in the process.

There aren't many internship opportunities available on campus.
Tips: There hasn't been much of a cultural shift since I moved from India, mainly because IU is about 90% Indian students. That gives us a strong sense of being at home here. I didn't receive any scholarship, as None were available at the time. I'm very satisfied with the country—Germany—and the city, Berlin. As for IU, I'm somewhat satisfied, not completely, because in most public universities, you can get admission for free.
Likes (Post study jobs): In Germany, there is no concept of on-campus jobs, so everyone has to find jobs on their own, whether you are from the Technical University of Munich, BSBI, or IU. There are countless opportunities available, but the job roles you are eligible for and the salary packages generally depend on your qualifications, experience, and GPA. Plus, once you start working, you will be provided with a work visa. After five years or three, in the past, you could apply for permanent residence. The only condition is that you must be proficient in German at the C1 level or higher, which could be either C1 or C2.
Dislikes (Internships): At IU, there aren't many internship opportunities available on campus because the teachers aren't permanent and often change. As a result, there isn't a consistent teaching assistant or support staff in place. That's why most students look for work opportunities outside the university. If you're studying Computer Science, you'd search for internships related to your field, and the same goes for BBA and other programs. As I mentioned earlier, the internships can be relevant to your field, as long as you choose the right one.

IUBH with an Indian mindset.
Tips: Most of the students at IU are Indian, so for me, there was not much of a transition. Because of the high Indian students, there are a lot of good Indian restaurants in the area. I did not avail any scholarship. I love it here, except for the harsh language, which I am not used to, but I believe I'll be fine. As the university is for three days a week, it is quite manageable to study and work. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, and places where you can work part-time to earn a living, with potential for 12-30 euros per hour. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Internships): Not a lot of on-campus internships available, but there is a placement cell in the university for jobs and internships. However, the placement cell's prime focus is on jobs rather than internships. Various off-campus internships align with your field of study. I recommend doing your research to find them.

Tips: I would definitely go for permanent residence if I get the chance. Learning German is crucial, C1 level to be exact. The majority of the students are Indian at IU, so I did not face a lot of cultural shift. I also didn't get any scholarships. But I am very satisfied with Berlin and Germany on the whole, and IU offers exactly what they promote on their social media pages and website.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are not a lot of on-campus opportunities, such as teaching assistants and other internships, but on the bright side, the university is located in the prime area of Berlin, so there are a lot of off-campus part-time jobs. The part-time jobs are quite manageable, as you're allowed to work 20 hours a week.

Diverse culture and academics at IU.
Tips: Obviously, there is a cultural shift for you. You are moving here for two years, and you will definitely miss your home culture. But here in Germany, there are many Indians here which will fill that gap.
Likes (Public transportation): The transport system in Germany is easy to navigate and affordable. The metro system is very well connected, and as a student, you'll get many discounts on travel. If you have your own bicycle, you can easily manage the cost of transportation.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very few on-campus job opportunities, such as student advisory or student representatives. This means there are very few chances to get one of these jobs. As for off-campus jobs, there are internships and jobs at Amazon warehouses. They are pretty manageable, and the average pay is about 12 to 15 euros per hour. I don't have any scholarships, but I'm very satisfied right now.

As a private institution, tuition fees can be on the higher side. Be sure to investigate the fee structure thoroughly and ask about any additional costs or administrative fees that might apply. Transitioning here meant adjusting to a more independent and structured academic routine compared to what I was used to. There's definitely a cultural shift in everything from classroom etiquette to daily social interactions is different in Germany. Although courses are taught in English learning basic German is highly recommended. It makes daily life, networking, and integration into the local community much smoother.
Likes (Quality of faculty): My typical day starts with engaging lectures and interactive tutorials that are interspersed with group study sessions. Between classes, I often catch up with friends in communal areas or the library, which is equipped with comfortable spaces for both work and relations. The campus organizes a wide range of events from cultural nights and sports tournaments to career fairs and guest lectures. I usually participate in these events at least once or twice a week, which not only breaks up the academic routine but also gives me a chance to explore new interests and network with peers. There's a rich variety of student clubs available. I'm involved in sports clubs like basketball and soccer, cultural groups, and academic societies that align with my interests. These clubs foster a sense of belonging and provide opportunities for leadership and creative collaboration. The best part about college life here is the balance between rigorous academics and a supportive, fun social environment. The diverse mix of students from different countries makes every interaction a learning opportunity, both culturally and professionally.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The faculty brings extensive industry experience and deep academic knowledge, which enriches every lecture. They're not just delivering content but they're sharing real-world insights that make complex subjects more understandable and relevant. Faculty members in my department are very accessible. They maintain open office hours, respond promptly to emails and online queries, and are always willing to discuss challenges or explore new ideas. This consistent availability makes it easy for students to get the help they need, whether in person or via digital platforms. What sets our department apart is its hybrid approach to learning. We benefit from a blend of traditional in-person tutorials and flexible online self-study modules. This method allows for interactive, real-time discussions during on-campus sessions while giving us the freedom to review recorded lectures and digital materials at our own pace. It's a system that not only caters to different learning styles but also encourages independent thinking and practical problem-solving. Tips: Before joining, students should find out about the visa application process, language requirements, and any part-time job opportunities that might be available. It’s also a good idea to research the cost of living, the options for accommodation, and the cultural differences between your current home and your new university’s location. I have a good chance of settling down in Germany, given my background in technology and the fact that the country offers both a strong career path in tech and AI. Also, there is a clear pathway to a permanent residence permit. However, meeting those prerequisites might be difficult without being fluent in the language. Overall, I’m delighted with my university, my course of study, and living in Germany.

Tips: Students should have a good plan for how they will manage their expenses, and because the university provides so many facilities, students should know how to use them and take advantage of them efficiently. Every place is well connected and since I have my student ID, I can travel freely to some extent and visit different places, all at affordable prices. I don’t mind paying a set fare if it means that I can travel to different places safely. Also, the travel from my room to university takes a minimum amount of time and the trains are available at every moment. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences so far.

Tips: I didn't get any scholarships. As a student from India, the cultural differences are big. As it's an international university, the immigration support is great from the University end, and the procedures done are fast enough, the support system is reliable on an overall basis. But as an online student, you can feel a little delay while communicating directly with the university. I'm satisfied with the country and city, but the university could be better. Overall, though, I am happy with the opportunities I have found here.
Dislikes (Part time work): The part-time job support from the university is not all that great, and all you can expect are references or LORs from professors. The course is, however, relevant, so you can expect to find employment after you graduate.

Tips: For those who can afford the upfront costs, studying at IU International University of Applied Sciences can be a valuable experience. Knowing German will really help. The university is nice, but you'll get some culture shock, and money matters. At least try and pay the first year's tuition. Part-time jobs might be a little hard to find. Germany takes its students seriously. As a student here, you must be diligent in your academics. The university has a competitive educational environment. However, with strong credentials and skills, you may get sponsorship from the school and the salary is dependent on your degree level. Learn any skills you can, as this will enhance your resume.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Eating out at restaurants in Germany is quite expensive, so eating out only once or twice a week is probably a better option. If you know how to cook, eating in might be cheaper, and this is especially true if you are a Muslim. While you might have some trouble eating at the halal restaurant, there are some good options out there. Be aware that German food may not be to everyone's taste, but some Indian stores offer a nice change of pace from the usual German fare.

Flexible university and great faculty.
Tips: Students must know about the university and the place. The university is situated in Berlin, which is a pretty good place for international exposure. If I say about the culture-shift experience, I had a pretty good experience because in India we don't do much interaction with others because we know our country well. However, in Germany, you need to interact with others and make good networks to get a good job or get personal experiences. Plus, I didn't get a scholarship. I got in just by the grades I had in high school. But I am satisfied with my university, the course, and the country.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in Berlin is very cheap, and if you get lucky, you get a semester discount on a ticket. The fare is around 50 euros for the general public, but for students, it's around 25 to 30 euros, which is very cheap. With this discount, you can travel around for free for a month all over Germany. The campus is well-connected to the city and everywhere students would want to go, so you are covered by this great deal.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food in Berlin isn't that spicy, which as an Indian is something I get a little used to. It's pretty good as far as fast food goes, but not that healthy. I prefer to cook for myself, as it's cheaper and healthier than eating out.

Tips: The campuses, in Berlin and Bad Honnef, have a good structure, focus, and language instruction, along with diverse study opportunities, accreditation, and recognition. The Berlin campus is good for transportation and in all situations, whereas Bad Honnef is a very peaceful place to study. Instead of working part-time, it's better to apply for an internship because doing so boosts your skillset and opens up job opportunities. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Part time work): It’s good to work but sometimes it can have a negative impact on your studies. There are going to be many sleepless nights. Although part-time work offers flexibility and can be a good option for balancing other commitments like school or family, it has its challenges. Great college with good faculty, but expensive for commute and living.
Tips: For students whose first language is not German, fluency in English and some German at least B1 level is essential for everyday life in this country. The university has excellent professors. My course is B.Sc. in Computer Science, which is well-designed. Because it's a good university and it's chill, I don't have to worry too much about academics. The only thing I don't like is the taxes, which are too high. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Indian Food): There are several restaurants in the city, such as Brotsch, which are reasonably priced. However, I still prefer to cook my own food, especially since I go to the gym and track my calories. It's also cheaper than eating out every day.
Dislikes (Value for money): The education is too costly for a bachelor's. Even if you are going for a 100% online program, the cost is still the same. I found a figure for one of these programs and it was around 15 Lacs INR.

Tips: The transition was not too bad. A variety of students also study here from diverse backgrounds. City is pretty affordable as well. Scholarships and bursary options can be available too for students who have had a difficult background.
Likes (Indian Food): Many restaurants are available in the city but I prefer cooking rather than eating out, as it is a great way to save money. Lots of delicious Asian, Chinese and Italian restaurants are available and are budget friendly for students.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The professors are very good and are ready to help with any issues that may arise. People are friendly. Very lively place aswell for students to thrive in and make new friends to help develop socially.

Likes (Indian Food): Leicester consists of a larger indian population, so a greater variety of food is available, even tiffin services. There are many restaurants like SKVP and Biryaniwala, which are cheaper compared to other restaurants in the UK. I mostly preferred to cook by myself. Indian students can prefer to go to Falcon Mall. Living with friends makes it easier to prepare food and get ready for university.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Due to strict laws and updates in rules, it is difficult to get sponsored jobs. Experienced workers should take admission to university rather than as a fresher. I got my first job worth 25000, a GPA and a bonus every month. But, you need to go through higher competitions inside the company or to switch jobs as you are a UK experienced professional and get sponsorship. Then, the routes are open for permanent immigration. First, you can get a 3-year visa and then a 5-year Tier 2 visa, so you can apply for ILR.

The shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes, which I liked, but the rest of the public transport options were somewhat challenging but manageable.

The job market in the UK is really tough.
Tips: I have seen growth in myself in terms of communication, personality and being independent. I got a 3000 pounds scholarship in tuition fees, which I feel is really normal. I think most people get some amount of scholarship. I am satisfied with business analytics and strategic finance subjects. Other than that, everything was pretty much basic. Overall, Leicester is pretty much boring, so make sure you make friends to keep yourself sane. Everything looks good from the outside, but the struggle will start when you start living away from family.
Likes (Public transportation): The city is well-connected with buses. And there's a free bus service that takes a round trip in Leicester called the Hopp, which is helpful. Otherwise, bus charges are 2 pounds. Plus, everything is within walking distance, so you can just walk if you don't want to pay for transport.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): It is about the competition, and the job market in the UK is really tough. You have to stand out to have sponsorship jobs in terms of skills and knowledge. I would suggest upgrading your skills while doing your Master's to stand yourself. Find an internship when there's a holiday. The average salary is around 32000 pounds.

Tips: Use any discounts that are available here. Book cheap airline tickets, get student discounts, download discount apps, and use voucher codes. Don’t bring too many winter clothes from home, it’s much better to buy them here because Indian jackets don’t cut it in the UK. Leicester is very diverse and there are a lot of Indian restaurants here where you can get good Indian food. You can find everything from South Indian dishes to Turkish food here. You can go out here without spending a lot of money, too. In the UK, there aren’t any specific arrangements in place for internships, like there are in India. Here, you have to apply externally yourself. There are some instances of companies advertising their roles on campus or at events, and networking can be useful, but most of the time, they say to apply online.

In fact, there’s loads of multicultural food available, which is great. There are restaurants around specializing in Indian cuisine and lots of places that sell traditional Maggi and samosas.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It is difficult to get PR here. You have to work 5 years and your study year does not count. Also a lot of competition in white-collar jobs. I would personally not immigrate permanently as you may feel alone sometimes and also medical care is a little messed up.

Tips: The transition was super easy. It's mostly cloudy or night every day depending on the season. Consider this university only if you are serious about studying. All the assignments are on a level of a mini-project so it would not be easy. There are no part-time jobs at the university, so you'll have to find one in Leicester or elsewhere as it mostly depends on the season. If you start in January, it will be difficult to find a part-time job for at least five or six months. Even if you do find a job, it will likely be a short-term contract position that might not be renewed. The average salary for these positions is the minimum wage of 11.44 per hour.
Likes (Indian Food): You will get everything that you find in India for sure. We have Indian grocery stores over here but it is better to get from India in case it could be expensive if you don't have a part-time job, so get as much stuff as possible.

Tips: Before joining this college, students should be aware of the academic programs and modules, aware of basic programming and plagiarism awareness. Students should have a good friend circle that can help them with studies, part-time jobs, professional job hunts, activities, extracurricular activities, and food preparation.
Likes (Safety): I have lived near campus and so have my friends, and it is an incredibly safe area, especially in the LE2 postcode. However, it can vary depending on the area and your landlord. I highly recommend students find private accommodation or go with university accommodation, as agency accommodation is more expensive and students may have difficulty getting their deposit back due to a lack of understanding of household responsibilities.
Dislikes (Part time work): Before the Russia-Ukraine war, part-time jobs were plentiful. However, you can still get a part-time job within 40 days. There are opportunities in restaurants, stores, warehouses, and tutoring. These jobs can help you develop transferable skills, such as communication and explaining things to non-experts.

Tips: The course structure at the University of Leicester is amazing, but having prior work experience is a plus for this particular course. I received a scholarship of 5000 Pounds, which helped offset the cost of tuition. The weather in the UK can be depressing, but the university itself is worth it.
Likes (Indian Food): Leicester has some of the best Indian food you can get in the UK for a very reasonable rate. But it won't be the exact same as you get back in India, so, I mostly cooked my own meals when I didn't have classes. During classes, I used to get takeouts.
Dislikes (Internships): Internship opportunities were less but the support was good. There are job fairs arranged at the University and it is a good opportunity to connect with people, but other than that I didn't find any internship opportunities as such. The college provides support for resume checking, interview preparation and even essay writing.

Tips: Students should know that this city and the university are good places to be in. The atmosphere here is good and the teaching in the university is also excellent. But one thing to keep in mind is that people in the university won't spoon-feed you anything. It is your responsibility to get stuff and doubts cleared and do extra work for a better understanding.
Likes (Safety): Leicester is a very safe city, and the crime rate is also very low. Since I arrived, I have not heard of anything untoward happening to anyone in the vicinity of my home. So, this makes me feel it is a safe city in comparison to London or other big cities. Also, the cost of living is cheaper as compared to other cities.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is tough to find a part-time job during the main term-time. You will need to go to a lot of places to find a job and have to wait a minimum of 2 to 3 months to get a part-time. If you have some friends working somewhere then it is easier to get a job.

Tips: I think students should accept the change in order to survive alone, far from home and with expenses all the positives leaving the negatives behind. There is not much cultural change as Leicester is a smaller India all people here are mostly Punjabis and Gujaratis. So, it's quite easy for you if you are Indian. I have availed myself of a 5000 scholarship that I got from the University of Leicester based on my Bachelor's degree. I think I'm 70% satisfied with everything the university, city and country have provided, the rest 30% is for jobs and countries economy.
Likes (Safety): I think Leicester is one of the safest cities in the United Kingdom because there are always people around. There are few quiet places because many Indians live in Leicester. During Indian festivals, there are exciting and authentic celebrations that everyone can take part in.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are definitely jobs out there, but many of the good ones need Security clearance (SC), which you can only get after living for 5 years in the UK. On the bright side, UK still has a lot of opportunities compared to other countries. There's the typical path for fresh graduates. You can apply for a graduate visa, and then apply for graduate roles twice or thrice during this period. If you do well in companies they might sponsor you for 3 more years. So it might take 5 years for all this, wherein you can better jobs after this as well. It's tougher for people with work experience since the local government is pushing the talents that are available locally inside the country first and the UK market is down economically which makes it competitive to find jobs.

Tips: 1. There's a cultural shift but it depends on the student. A student moved to a different country, so they should be accepting of the cultural shift and have a broader mindset.
2. I got the scholarship from Uni, but apparently everybody does.
3. With the University I am not so much satisfied but yes a way to get Masters in education. For the course, not so much from this University but if you learn it yourself and improve your skills, you can do wonders. The country is good as of now, a little expensive, and many are struggling with the cost of living, but still have a pleasant lifestyle.
Likes (Indian Food): Leicester has some great Indian food restaurants and the prices are fine compared to the UK. You have lots of different cuisines to eat too. But groceries aren't that expensive compared to outside food and other countries so, as a student, it's recommended to cook most of the time.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty aren't that helpful to the students. They sometimes lack the skills and stumble if asked questions outside of the courses on the same subject matter. They also tend to think in a very narrow perspective about the assignments and are not open to a wider variety of options.

Being independent is important to survive.
Tips: 1. Learn to be independent and start taking care of ourselves as there won't be our parents to be there for each and every small thing. Life will play with you as much as it can. But we will learn from it and become strong and independent. Moving away from your parents and needing to take care of each and everything and none of the people care about you. Friends will become your family.
2. It depends on IELTS cut off , I got 6.5 overall and they have given me a 3000 pounds scholarship and reduced my overall fee.
3. It was a good experience on a count of 10 my rating would be 7.5
Likes (Permanent Immigration): It all depends on how you get a job after your studies and how seriously you apply for the jobs, To my knowledge all my friends have secured a job with a good package and are being sponsored. Once you get a sponsored job within 5 years you will be given indefinite leave to remain. All I can tell students is to work hard for one or two years and secure a job.
I would love to stay here as the pay is good but the expenses all will be equal to the amount that we earn. But for people who miss family is a bit difficult to survive but for people who like travelling or looking forward to settling is a good option as we get to know the purpose of life and can learn how to work and be independent as an individual.
Dislikes (Public transportation): As I have stayed in private accommodation which is 20 min walk from the university, public transportation is not a big concern for me as I used to walk and go to the university. But when we want to get groceries or anything from the city centre, it's a big deal as we need to walk and go with all the weight that needs to be carried all the way. We have public transport in Leicester but there are many company buses which need to be changed and charge more for each and every bus we board and overall day rate used be around 6-7 pounds which is way too much for the students to spend every day around 7 pounds as we only work 20 hours a day and our hour pay is 10 pounds an hour which makes us difficult to spend more on the public transport.
