Once in a lifetime experience.
Tips: It definitely was a bit difficult initially like the way everything was electronically like assignments, lectures and so on, but I received equal help from everyone at every step. This university made sure I was aware about this country and how everything works since most of us were international students who came to Australia for the first time. I received a 10,000 scholarship and every university has some scholarships that they let u know when u receive the confirmation letter. Lack of job opportunities but this country is fabulous.
Likes (Indian Food): There are ample of Indian restaurants, cafes and various small street food corners especially in Indian community localities. They are slightly expensive if u compare them with INR but it's better than nothing. Since I love cooking, I prefer home cooked meals. Only occasionally I visit restaurants.
Dislikes (Value for money): I feel it's slightly expensive compared to other university in different cities. A degree can open doors to better jobs and a potential higher salary, the actual success in securing these opportunities might not be fully realized by the University boards, making this investment feel less certain. If the university would have provided strong career support or direct industry connections, the financial investment may feel fully justified rather than partial.

The college is easy going, helpful, and welcoming.
Tips: Transition was a bit tough at the start. There was a cultural shift as well. I also got a scholarship from the university. The university is good at welcoming international students.
Dislikes (Internships): Currently, the internships are very limited and in limited sectors, specifically, it depends from university to university. To get internships, you must focus on the WAM (Weighted Average Mark), which should be at least 70 or more to get an internship.

Good college, but the curriculum needs improvement.
Tips: The lifestyle is much more relaxed and peaceful here compared to India. You can easily balance studies, sports, and other interests if you want to. While I am moderately satisfied with my university and course, I really enjoy living in Australia.
Likes (Safety): The university offers various facilities and programs, both on-campus and online, to support the mental health of its students. These initiatives ensure that every student feels safe and welcome. I've found that everyone I've met here is very friendly and welcoming.
Dislikes (Value for money): Personally, I feel the syllabus could be improved. Given the tuition fees, I believe we should be taught more relevant and valuable material. For the current syllabus, it might be better to attend a more affordable university, as skills are ultimately what matter in securing good employment.

Tips: Students should know that Macquarie University has a supportive academic environment with excellent facilities and diverse teaching methods. The transition was smooth for me, although I did experience a bit of a cultural shift in terms of communication style and independent learning expectations. u2022 I received a scholarship worth $10000 AUD per year towards my tuition fee. This helped ease the financial burden a little. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my university, course and life in Australia. The country is welcoming, the education system is high quality, and there are good career opportunities after graduation.
Likes (Post study jobs): Sydney offers great post-study job opportunities, especially in fields like IT, finance and Management. Many companies hire international graduates and offer visa sponsorship, especially under post post-study work visa. Macquarie University has strong industry connections, which help with job placements. Common roles include business analyst, project coordinator and marketing executive, with starting salaries typically ranging from $55,000 to $75,000 AUD. The post-study work visa also gives students time to gain experience and apply for longer-term roles.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Sydney's public transportation is reliable and well-connected. Macquarie University is conveniently accessible by multiple modes of transport, including trains, buses and metro services. The campus has its own metro station, Macquarie University Station, which directly connects to the Sydney metro northwest line, making travel to and from the city and nearby suburbs quite convenient. The area also has frequent bus services and is located near major roads, so computing options are flexible. While public transportation is generally efficient, it can sometimes face delays or service disruptions, especially during peak hours or maintenance periods. If you don't mind walking, studying here will be amazing.
Tips: Honestly, apart from the massive campus and the amount of walking that needs to be done to get from one end to another, it is a great university. Staff are knowledgeable and respectful, services are well thought out and easily accessible. The campus has its own metro station, with great train and bus connectivity. It's also located near the city centre, so getting around is easy. However, it is Sydney so public transport can be unreliable and expensive.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Genuinely just a crowded city, the government is striking down immigration, and I would not recommend settling down in Sydney purely due to the overcrowdedness and its effects on immigrants. That being said, it also does have a massive amount of Indian population in Sydney to stay in touch with others of the same origins or to have a place like home.

Great university with supportive faculty.
Tips: Before coming to Macquarie University, it's helpful to know the structure of the university and the cultural shifts that you'll encounter. Shops usually close at 6 pm and cafes at 2 pm. However, there is a lot of good vegetarian food available. The faculty are supportive and will help us with our assignments. I'm super satisfied with my course and unit learning as they are more practical-based.

Good university for quality education.
Tips: Finding a job after graduation is not as easy as it seems. You have to manage everything yourself, which can be overwhelming. You also need to make contacts while you're studying to get a job. On the plus side, the faculty is great and very approachable. There are also lots of events and seminars held on campus, so be sure to participate in them. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality of education at my university.

Tips: Macquarie has a strong academic reputation and offers a variety of scholarships. The campus is vibrant, and the student support services are excellent. Australia is very open, friendly, and laid back, which made it easier to adjust socially. It just takes a little time to adapt to the communication style and daily routine. The campus is great and the pond with a fountain in the center is a panoramic view.
Tips: It took some sort of time to adjust to Australia's education system because it's very different from India. We daily had fixed lectures from 7 am to 2 pm. But here you can set your own timetable according to your feasibility and you have to do self-study before attending the workshops of your unit. As an Indian international student, I got 20000 AUD scholarships. I'm very much satisfied with Macquarie University and the course I'm learning.
Likes (Safety): CCTV cameras are installed throughout the campus. Plus the security team patrols the whole university. Till now I didn't have any bad experiences. The nightlife isn't that great in Sydney. Everybody is at home by 7 pm and everything shut off by 9 pm. You can't see anyone after that time. But it's a part of the routine now, so it doesn't matter.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Transportation to Macquarie University is pretty much sorted. It has its own metro station and is a 10-minute walk from the main campus building. Bus connectivity is the same. Overall affordability is average because the transportation fare in Sydney is extremely high compared to Melbourne. No doubt the services are good but it shouldn't be that costly for students.

It was a good choice to choose Australia.
Tips: The only thing that I faced was that I couldn't eat proper Indian food, and ordering in was quite expensive. I got a 20,000 scholarship from the university. IDP applied for my scholarship. I am pretty satisfied with my course even though it is difficult to get pr. I think If you study hard enough you can get decent jobs here.
Likes (Safety): Sydney is very safe that is what I have experienced. You can travel late. Most of the places have security cameras which adds to the security. There are helplines and regular activities that can help international students who are feeling a little depressed about staying away from home like a free counselling session.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of getting pr are quite difficult in Australia, as some courses and jobs are more favourable, if you get into them, like teaching your chances of getting pr will increase immensely. I am not sure about permanent staying in this country, as I find life in India quite convenient. But the liberal mindset is something that is very appealing in Sydney.

It is a good university with various opportunities.
Tips: It is a very good university and the faculty members are very good. There was no cultural shift. I got the scholarship while I was enrolling at the university. The environment is good and people are very helpful over here. If you face any kind of stress people are here to help you out. Talking about the country it's a bit too early to comment but so far it's good. Also, almost every food contains beef. At a minimum, you have to spend around 10 Dollars for good food. I prefer cooking because it saves a lot of money. I prefer eating at home and if you want to buy groceries, you can get it from Aldi and Coles. I am very satisfied with the university.

Great college campus with lots of activities and friendly faculty.
Tips: Students should know that there is a cultural difference and you meet people from different races and backgrounds. Some might be rude, some might help you but you will also find Indians especially since my university has the most diverse culture in Sydney. I got a scholarship of INR 10 Lakhs. Overall, I am satisfied with my campus and university.
Likes (Safety): The law in Australia is strict, which makes it difficult to commit crimes. The area where I live has excellent security, especially my off-campus apartment building, which requires keycard access to enter. I feel very safe here.
Dislikes (Internships): The university doesn't provide campus placement, so we have to find our own internships. Also, we get rejected for internships because of visa requirements. However, I do have friends who have gotten internships, so it is possible. My field is data science, and it is easier to get an internship in this field.

The university is vibrant with great student life.
Tips: I found it a bit of a cultural shift coming to Macquarie University. There are a lot of Asians here, and not many Indians. But there are a good number of Indians here, and I've made some good friends. I got a scholarship of 10 Lacs rupees as an Indian student and Indians get a 3 year post study visa after they graduate. I am satisfied with my university however I could have done a dual degree so consider that before applying for any courses.
Likes (Part time work): When I came here, the recession was going on and it took me 6 months to get my part-time job. I got other opportunities as well easily and the pay rate is the best in the whole world at 26 Dollars an hour. Just improve your resume according to the job role requirements.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Usually, it is a heaven for people who eat non veg food where we have great options on university campus with more than 10 outlets across the campus and also there is a malls just Next to the university. As a vegetarian it is difficult for me to find restaurants near my location near Macquarie in Sydney however the Indian area called Paramatta has Indian options.

Life at Macquarie University is good. Try to connect with student bodies.
Tips: Students should know that there's going to be big changes coming your way. Embrace each day as it comes. Learn and unlearn. There's a solution for everything. There are student bodies that will help you steer through all problems. Always be yourself and trust that you are capable of making a difference. Make friends, and have fun but know that you are your best friend.
Likes (Safety): I have never felt like I needed an escort to go back home even at 1 am. I have always felt very safe. The people are very nice and friendly and they are always there to help you out. Sydney is a very safe city, especially in today's world.

The college is well managed and friendly.
Tips: Students should be mentally prepared to study and prepare for classes. The academic environment is really nice in the university and lectures are friendly too but you should be prepared to ask questions to the lecturers whenever you have any. Be as open as possible and participate in events, activities and campaigns and build connections.
Likes (Safety): Sydney is one of the safest places to live. The crime rate is very low, and I feel safe when I am travelling at midnight too. The sense of security is really good, I can walk freely around the city. Also, the encounter with police that I have had always been satisfactory.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I do prefer cooking outside because the food outside is not that great and I'm pretty much disappointed by the taste in most of the places. There are not many options available near the place where I live, and the places available charge for food excessively so I prefer cooking.

The university environment is great and supportive.
Tips: Students should know that there is a 10k AUD scholarship per year for South Asian students. Assignments are completely research-based, unlike Indian universities where you have to mug things up. Part-time jobs are a must. You have to be independent. It is not shameful to work.
Likes (Public transportation): Macquarie University is the only University that has a metro station. It drops us off right outside of campus. Apart from the metro, buses are available as well. Transport costs are not that expensive. Keep in mind that we do not get student concessions.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Most Indian food in Australia is catered for native Australians and is not authentic. Most Indian food options are North Indian and as a South Indian, it would be nice to see some variety. I prefer cooking Indian food at home and not eating outside.

Great cultural diversity and experience.
Tips: There was an expected cultural shift when coming here, but it was not difficult. Sydney is so multicultural that diversity is the norm and making connections once I adjusted a bit more and found my groove was very seamless. I did avail of a 10,000$ early acceptance scholarship that I was automatically assessed for when I submitted my application. Overall, I am very satisfied with my university, course and Australia as a whole.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in Sydney is unarguably the best in all of Australia. Something I love about Macquarie is how it is the only Australian University to have its own Metro station which makes accessibility seamless. Public transport is widespread throughout the outer suburbs as well and is quite affordable.
Dislikes (Internships): There are a lot of highly relevant internships available both at university and outside the university. Something I appreciate about Macquarie University is how much the faculty helps you and guides you in finding a starting point as an undergraduate student in your professional career via the PACE unit. This is a compulsory internship unit offered by the university that goes into depth regarding the scientific field and what companies are actively scouting for.

Good university with knowledgeable faculty and great transportation facilities.
Tips: There was no major shift, the transition was smooth. The university does give good chances for scholarships, especially for gifted students both in sports and education which always helps in funding for students for daily allowance or tuition fee. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the course, college and the country.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Australia has some good options regarding visas and has some good categories for people with at least a degree to get into permanent options without the country and this is mainly a thing that is more inclined towards a government thing rather than the university but the university has some well-recognised degrees throughout the country and internationally.
Dislikes (Internships): The university does provide you to get into a work experience programme which is always good to enter and get a taste of the field you're planning to get into and is always a crucial thing when applying for graduate programs and further options.

Amazing university, vibrant campus and a fun student life.
Tips: When considering this university, students should be aware of the structure for studying here. Some students I know came here and forgot they came for the primary purpose of studying, and now concentrate on part-time work instead. Instead of focusing on part-time jobs, you should concentrate on your studies. In addition to that, students should also be outgoing and not just stay home, even if they have recordings of classes. This will help students maintain contact with their professors and their subject material. There are many restaurants here, with cuisine options from Arabian to Indian. Personally, I prefer to cook, as it's cheaper, but I can't be sure of the general pricing, as each restaurant will have different prices. I'd say it will roughly be 20 dollars per meal. There aren't many post-study jobs here. It's difficult for freshers, mostly for graduates. I don't have a list of job roles or salary packages, but I can say that the roles vary from person to person. Some people might get a graduate role, while others might get an experienced role.

University of Canterbury provides many on campus events for students.
Tips: It is hard to get a job in my field because there are not a lot of job opportunities available. Also, there are students from different countries, so there will be some culture shock. There are no scholarships available for my course. The people are kind and welcoming, especially if you respect their culture. The elderly are friendly and open to having warm conversations. Christchurch is a quiet and peaceful place, and the people enjoy that kind of life. I feel safe on and off campus, and most of the campus is open to students so they can study whenever they want. Overall, I am satisfied with the campus, the country, and the university.
Dislikes (Internships): Unfortunately, internships are not part of the curriculum here like they are in India. This makes it challenging to gain hands-on experience, especially since most employers require knowledge of New Zealand laws and standards. In India, internships are available at any firm, but here most internships are through agencies and students have to pay for them.

Tips: The University of Canterbury offers a high standard of education. The education system here is very different from what I experienced in my previous institution. I was awarded the New Zealand Excellence Award Scholarship, which covered my tuition and living expenses. The application process was straightforward which involved submitting an academic record, a statement of purpose, and reference letters and the scholarship provided a stipend of NZD 10,000. I am very satisfied with my choice of university, and I would highly recommend it to any student who is seeking a world-class education in a safe and beautiful country. It is safe, scenic, and offers a good quality of life.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at the University of Canterbury are highly knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about their areas of expertise. They are very accessible and approachable and maintain open-door policies during office hours. They are also very responsive to emails. In terms of teaching methodology, they emphasize real-world case studies and group projects, and there is a strong focus on advanced software tools. The teaching faculty is also diverse in terms of nationality.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Authentic food options from my country of origin are quite limited here. Most restaurants close by 7 or 8 pm, and there are only a few fast food restaurants like KFC and McDonalds that are open after 8 pm. Casual dining restaurants range from NZD 15 to 25 per meal, while fine dining options can go upwards of NZD 40 to 50. I prefer to cook for myself, as it's more economical and allows me to prepare meals closer to my taste preference. It's also a healthier and more fulfilling option compared to eating out regularly. However, I occasionally enjoy dining out to explore different cuisines or socialize with friends.

A challenging but fulfilling and rewarding experience.
Tips: It is very important to understand that moving to a new country can be very challenging and overwhelming. The way life works and the processes are different to what you are used to. I think it was really important for me to try and learn the way people live their lives here since you can't change their way of living, so you need to be open to adapting. However, you should never feel like you are alone. Especially if you are moving to Christchurch for University, there is a whole network of people that you can get in contact with, and there are many different clubs to join. Therefore, you mustn't be scared to go out and meet new people. Embrace the new challenges. For me, joining clubs and/or sports teams is the best way to meet new, like-minded people. Furthermore, in terms of scholarships and funding, I managed to get an international student scholarship that allowed me to live in the halls in my first year for free. There are many scholarships that you can apply for, however, you need to make sure that the scholarship applies to international students. In terms of funding, I was fortunate enough that my parents were able to give me a weekly allowance that enabled me to live my day-to-day life. However, since I am studying engineering and playing cricket, I was also able to find jobs that allowed me to make money over the summertime. As long as you work within your visa restrictions, there is a lot of opportunity to find jobs etc. The university experience has been really amazing and I have been able to learn really cool things, both within the university and through daily life. While my course is very challenging, I have learnt some amazing things and could not be more grateful to be learning high-quality, practical knowledge that can be applied in the real world. New Zealand in general is a beautiful place with amazing people and beautiful views, you cannot say too much bad about this country.
Likes (Safety): Christchurch and New Zealand in general is a very safe city and country. The people are very nice and helpful. Although there are crimes like stealing from cars, as I have experienced, it is very easy to navigate through life and I have rarely had trouble trying to fit in within the community. Especially when joining the university, I felt that everyone was extremely supportive and always looking to make new friends. Therefore, the overall UC community is amazing.
Dislikes (Value for money): New Zealand in general is an expensive place to live. And, with international student feels, it makes it extremely expensive. While I have been fortunate enough that my parents can support me through my undergraduate study, a lot of students would not have the same luxury. It seems quite unjustifiable that as an international student, you pay more than 5x the price for the same courses and resources that a local student would get. I had already been in New Zealand for 2 years before joining the university and had a good network of friends already. Therefore, I did not need support as an international student as I am sure international students need.

Practically oriented in every perspective.
Tips: The enrollment process at the University of Canterbury was easy. For the initial days, it was obvious I felt cultural differences but after getting used to it, it felt like a home away from home. I was awarded a Dean's Award scholarship. I had a good academic score in my Bachelor and previous work experience helped in get the scholarship which was around 5000 NZD. I am fully satisfied with my university, course and the country - New Zealand.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation in Christchurch is excellent. It is well connected to the campus, and even towns 40-50 km from Christchurch are connected with good frequency of timings. The bus is the primary mode of transportation, and fares are subsidized for students at a rate of 1 NZD.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are some jobs on campus like Tutor, Research Assistant, and part-time in some cafes around the campus. Talking about Off-campus jobs there are plenty of them but you must have relevant work experience to easily get those. Academics are easily manageable with the job. Most of the jobs pay the minimum wage in New Zealand which is around 23 NZD.

Tips: Don't think! Just come to the University of Canterbury. It's the best university. The university provides everything here. All the faculty are here to guide us from scratch. The university has different departments for students to help. The university is very active in terms of hosting events and helping students.
Likes (Indian Food): Hygiene is followed. Quality of food is delivered. Here maximum options are non-vegetarian, but I am a vegetarian. So, I don't eat much from the outside restaurants. I am an Indian and close to my accommodation. There is an Indian restaurant where I go to and enjoy my meal fortnightly. The price is not expensive because if one is earning then he/she can afford eating outside. I prefer to cook by myself and enjoy my meal.
Dislikes (Value for money): It's expensive as compared to other universities. But the fees is justified as we can see that the course offers 180 credits towards our degree, which is good. The professors are very supportive. They are always there to help and encourage us to do good. My overall experience has been the best here.

Great university and great exposure to learn and grow.
Tips: I was concerned about the transition from India to New Zealand, but it wasn't that tough. The university and students made me feel very welcome and helped me get into the system. I applied for a scholarship and secured it, which was very helpful. Students should firmly keep an eye on scholarships as they would be reflected in the mark sheet and would be helpful in future job placements.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I got permanent residency in New Zealand after completing my course and getting a job there. I love the culture and the country. It is peaceful and accepting. If you have the opportunity to settle in New Zealand, you should definitely try it.
Dislikes (Public transportation): I gave public transportation a low rating because bus service can be quite limited, especially late at night and on weekends. However, bus fares are very reasonable, and using a combination of public transportation and bicycles can make travel time faster.

Perfect blend of all the things that a student may need.
Tips: The college is very good overall. There is always a cultural shift when a student studies internationally, but after some time he/she settles. I got a scholarship of 5500$ and it was provided to me on merit basis by the university and it was called Dean's Award Scholarship. Overall, I am totally satisfied with the university and the country.
Likes (Student Life): One can take part in a lot of activities in the campus. In every week or two, there is some event happening. There is a separate committee for organizing events for students. Also, the campus is very beautiful and well planned. We can get everything that we may need.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are ample of jobs, but we require a relevant experience for them, which is difficult for an entry level international student. So as an international student, I am giving a rating of 3. If we got skills in the relevant background, then we can get jobs.

Tips: Before joining the University Of Canterbury, students should be aware of a few key things to ensure a smooth transition and a fulfilling experience. UC is known for its strong academic programs, particularly in engineering, but students from all disciplines will find a diverse range of subjects and resources to support their studies. For International students, understanding the culture of NZ, the university's academic expectations and student life are crucial. It's helpful to engage with the university's international office and join clubs and societies to build a support network. When I transitioned to UC, there was certainly a cultural shift. Coming from abroad, I experienced a change in the education system, where there is a strong focus on independent learning, critical thinking and research. Regarding scholarships UC order various opportunities for international and domestic students. I did not personally avail of a scholarship, but many students can access it based on academic merit or specific criteria. It's a good idea to check the UC scholarship database early in the application process to see what options are available. Overall I am highly satisfied with my university experience at UC.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I rated 5 on value for money because I believe the education and overall experience at the UC are worth the tuition fees. The quality of the academic programs, modern facilities and extensive student support services all contribute to making it a valuable investment. UC provides access to excellent resources such as libraries, research centres, and academic guidance, which are crucial for student success. Additionally, the diverse extracurricular opportunities, well-being initiatives and career development programs further enhance the student experience, making me feel like I am getting more than just a degree. The tuition fees for my course are justified because UC offers a high standard of teaching, with experienced lecturers and a well-designed curricular that prepares students for the professional world.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I rated 2 on food options from my country of origin because there are limited authentic restaurants that cater to the cuisines I am familiar with. While a few places offer dishes from my home country, they don't always taste the same. I personally prefer cooking for myself, as it allows me to prepare meals that are closer to what I would eat at home, and it is more budget-friendly. Cooking also gives me more control over ingredients and flavour which I enjoy.

A pretty good university with very limited opportunities due to recession.
Tips: There is quite a bit of adjustment when comparing the education system from back in India. In India, as long as we get good marks at the end of the year exams, we get a good overall mark on our report cards. However, here you have to work hard and get good grades in each and every assignment because the amount of weight they carry in your final grades is a lot.
Likes (Safety): The city is pretty safe as I haven't heard much violence against anyone. There is little racism, if any at all, against other ethnicities. There is not any bad experience in particular that I have in the city that I could share. The people here are quite friendly as well which is also good. However, from what I have heard from friends, there is a bit of exploitation done when someone is sponsoring your residence visa if they are your workplace as well. However, the owners in those cases are also mostly Indians.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not many companies offer sponsor visas as far as I know. The main reason for my rating of 2 is that the current job market is not very good. The country is in recession and there is an acute shortage of jobs available in a lot of the fields. Quite a lot of the students need to move to cities or even countries to find a good job. The wages/cost of living ratio is also not great for it to be considered a good option to work.

Modern college with helpful professors and green environment.
Tips: Studies are taken seriously but professors are supportive and helpful. Students get used to their studies after seeing the competition. The country is very beautiful and the infrastructure of the college is modern. Course fee is justified nothing more. Accommodation will cost around 8 lakhs/ year roughly which I don't think is much. Prefer this country over Canada and it is worth it.
Likes (Safety): The country is very safe and people are polite and respectful. The Maori tribesmen are also very welcoming and want others to know about their culture. So far I haven't experienced any bad experiences and I don't think any of my friends have either. 10/10 for safety.
Dislikes (Internships): GoinGlobal portals is famous in student communities for getting good internships. Sometimes there are recruitment drives across campus or in Christchurch some fares are organized especially for international students. Be aware, make connections, subscribe to newsletters and definitely a good internship opportunity is seeking you!

I feel this is the best University to upskill career.
Tips: I recommend students to start the process of application early so that they will get the acceptance offer soon from this University.
And I also suggest to take the advantage of campus accommodation which is somewhat cheap and you will not face any hassle when you eventually come here.
