MSc Management of Projects - Batch of 2025
4.3
If you are able to utilise your time and opportunities well, It is an ideal option for early ROI.
Tips: The university is heavily academic. Come ready, for you have to read a lot of papers and write research papers. Choose your course wisely, as courses sound similar, but course structure can be different. Apply for scholarships early, as the spots tend to fill quickly. Try to live in student accommodation (either from the university or private), as it significantly reduces your stress. These accommodations organize events that allow you to network with students outside of your cohort.
Likes (Public transportation): I gave it a 5 because getting around Manchester is just incredibly cheap and easy. They use the yellow Bee Network buses and Metrolink trams here, and everything has a daily spending cap. You basically won’t cross five quid a day for bus fares, no matter how much you're hopping on and off. The city center and the main campus along Oxford Road are also completely walkable, so if you land a student house nearby in a spot like Fallowfield, you can honestly save a massive chunk of money just by walking to your lectures. Plus, having Manchester Airport sitting right on the direct train line within the city limits makes traveling back home or catching international flights entirely stress-free.
Dislikes (Internships): The university provides career workshops and guidance, but they don't have any dedicated placement cell for internships. They give sessions for CV review, interview preps, etc., but no specific companies come for special drives. You need to make your own connections, ask for opportunities, and network to get those positions.

Research and multidisciplinary focussed university
Tips: It gives immense opportunity for research and scope for development in the field but there are few opportunities for placement. There are scholarships available and it's good to apply for them but the housing is expensive, especially those offered by the university. It's a cultural shift in terms of freedom and autonomy offered to students and highly commendable for the research and courses they offer and the way they teach.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors here are incredible—they’re massive names in their fields, but they’re still completely down-to-earth and will genuinely go out of their way to help you out. The teaching is honestly top-tier. They don't just stand there lecturing at you—they give you real, brutal feedback to actually make you better. But honestly, the real trick here is just surviving the sheer volume of work. They dump the reading lists on you way ahead of time. If you don't skim through that stuff before class starts, you are going to be completely lost from minute one. Pre-reading is the only way to stay afloat, because then you can walk into office hours with specific, smart questions instead of just staring blankly at them. If you actually use those office hours right, the faculty will do whatever it takes to help you nail the material.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Few companies offer post-study work visas, and very few are available in the domain. The university does not provide opportunities to interact with employers in the space. There are very few opportunities available in the UK to settle in this domain. The economy is not growing well, and this may not be the top choice for recruiters in this field specifically.

UoM: Prepare For The Greatest Years
Tips: Connect with batchmates before you arrive here; otherwise, making friends might prove to be a little difficult. Find people around your city through the groups that the university makes. Manchester is super easygoing with infinite options apart from just studying. You will spend some of the greatest years of your life there, to a point where you feel like life peaked in uni.
Likes (Part time work): It is very easy to find part-time jobs in Manchester since the city is quite big with a lot of businesses that survive solely on reliable part-time workers. The uni job shop has a lot of very good options for part-time jobs. Aim for student marketer jobs; those are less demanding and a lot more flexible with great pay.

A smooth transition to a global learning experience
Tips: If you're heading to the University of Manchester, you're going to have a great time, but you seriously need to brace yourself for how independent everything is—both in the classroom and in daily life. Do yourself a favor and skim through your lecture notes before class every single day. Even just a quick look gives you enough context to actually open your mouth during class discussions, which is the easiest way to get noticed by your professors. You have to be proactive here; nobody is going to hand you anything. You’re expected to take the initiative, drive your own job applications, network like crazy, and hunt down opportunities yourself. Moving here was honestly a pretty smooth transition for me. The only real hurdle at first was just getting used to all the different accents, but you adapt to that pretty quickly. People in the UK are generally super polite, helpful, and respectful, which makes settling in a lot easier. I didn't get a scholarship myself, but I knew a few people who managed to land one or two. My biggest tip is to jump onto the official Manchester website early and filter your search specifically by your course, nationality, and department. The criteria change constantly, so you want to check early and get your application in before the deadline closes. Overall, I’m really happy with my choice. Manchester has a massive international student crowd, and since there are so many Indian students around, you never feel completely isolated or out of place.
Likes (Indian Food): One of the best things about living in Manchester is that you are completely spoiled for choice when it comes to Indian food. Honestly, finding familiar groceries, snacks, vegetables, and household stuff is incredibly easy here, which makes settling into life abroad so much smoother for Indian students. The city—and honestly the whole UK—is packed with Indian restaurants and outlets. If you are craving proper Indian street food, Chit 'n' Chaat is a fantastic spot to grab things like dahi papdi chaat or samosa chaat. When you want a proper sit-down North Indian meal with great vibes and amazing taste, places like Bardez and Dishoom are definitely the go-to options. For your daily cooking you can easily hunt down staples like Maggi, Kurkure, Haldiram snacks, proper spices and even veggies like brinjal and bottle gourd at local convenience stores like Worldwide or Asian Superstore. The only real catch is that eating out or ordering takeaway all the time will absolutely destroy your budget. From my experience, a single restaurant meal can easily run you around £25 per person. Because of that, I heavily prefer cooking my own food at home—it’s just way more affordable at the end of the day.
Dislikes (Value for money): Studying at the University of Manchester definitely gave me that international exposure I was looking for, but if I’m being completely honest, the massive price tag didn’t match what we actually got. My Master’s fees alone were £28,000—which works out to well over 33 lakhs in INR once you convert it. That is a massive chunk of money to drop on a degree. While the modules and subjects were definitely useful, it was pretty frustrating to realize that a huge portion of the material is stuff you can literally watch for free on open-source platforms like YouTube or NPTEL. Even the case studies and textbooks they used felt exactly like the ones my friends were studying back home at the IITs and IIMs. Looking at it strictly from a classroom perspective, the academic value just didn’t justify that crazy high tuition fee. For me, the real saving grace of the program was just the experience of being abroad. Getting to learn from international professors, collaborating with classmates from all over the world, and navigating a completely new culture was definitely life-changing. But when it came to landing a job, the career support was a massive reality shock. Coming from India, you expect a proper placement cell where companies actually come to campus, host rounds, and hand out job offers. Manchester doesn't work like that at all. Their career hub basically just tells you to go out there, network, and hunt down opportunities entirely on your own.

If you are seeing this review, this is your sign to go for it
Tips: One thing I really want you to focus on. Is it that there are going to be times when you feel that you do not belong there because you miss your family? You miss your culture. You miss your festivals, and that was mostly around Diwali time with me. Although there is a dedicated Indian society of Manchester, all the festivals are celebrated, and you will feel at home, but then looking at your parents missing your sibling is going to cause a little trouble, but you do not have to worry about it. We get enough of a vacation break when you can travel back. You can avail yourself of scholarships, and after you get your offer letter, the university team automatically sends your mail, where you have 2 to 3 options from which you can choose. In my automatic scholarship of £2000 for the first year, if you meet a set of conditions, which are not very hard to meet, you get a £7000 scholarship every year. You have to keep in mind that the weather is not going to be very pleasant, especially for inventors. It's going to be very rainy, very windy, and very cold. You do not have to bring your clothes from India. The UK is the best place to buy your winter clothes from; consider Primark, please. First year, I wasn't ready I was homesick because I had so much to explore and so much to look forward to: going to college every day, same places, meeting people. I did not get the time to feel very lonely or away from home, but then second year hit my way. You already know how things are supposed to be done. You know where your colleges are; you know people; you've MET them, so you tend to miss your family a little, but that's part of life, but this time at college at your university is going to be the best time you could have ever had in your life.
Likes (Safety): If I had the option, I would give my university and UK 10 instead of five. There is campus safety where cars are all over around the campus and the city to SEE if something is wrong and to ensure the safety of the students. At the campus, security takes around all over The campus buildings are also really safe, and if safety in general is not talked about and safety is gone into by considering emotional safety and mental safety, then no one can top the University of Manchester. They make such a big deal just for taking care of whether you are okay or not. If you miss some lectures, they're always there to figure out if there is any problem that you're facing because of it and you're not able to attend those lectures. You have your academic advisory to guide you all through your journey. The University of Manchester and Manchester overall are very safe.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Honestly, there is so much that is offered on the late, but why did I give it a four? It is just because of the fact that there is too much competition and the job market in the UK is just not ready for it. If you want to get a job there, you have to work really hard and apply to like 200 applications to get into one of them. There are so many options; the rules and the salary packages are generally really nice, with a minimum of like £25,000 per annum after you graduate The one mark I cut is just because the quantity of graduates applying is much less than the number of jobs that are offered. The job market in the UK is slow as for now, but it is something that has been worked upon.

Great research opportunities and a student-supportive experience
Tips: Before you sign up, you need to know that while the University of Manchester gives you insane academic and research opportunities, they fully expect you to handle independent learning without any hand-holding. If you can’t manage your own time, you will drown. Moving over here from India was a massive shock to the system at first—especially trying to get used to the miserable gray weather and a completely different lifestyle—but I managed to find my feet pretty quickly. Honestly, since I’m on a fully funded program, I’m incredibly happy with Manchester, my course, and life in the UK overall. It’s given me a massive launchpad to grow both personally and professionally, making the entire crazy transition completely worth it.
Likes (Public transportation): I rated it 5 because Manchester has excellent public transport and the university is very well connected to the rest of the city. Buses, trams, and trains are easily available, and I have never felt the need for a car. It's affordable and reliable and makes computing on campus and to other places convenient.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I gave it a 3 because there are good job opportunities, but finding a role with visa sponsorship can be difficult for international students. Some companies sponsor visas, especially in engineering, research, and pharmacy, but the competition is quite high.

Calm through the chaos- Navigating university life strategically.
Tips: Look, here’s the real deal. First off, get ready for an insane amount of self-study. Nobody is going to force you to go to class, and the independent reading is heavy. Also, force yourself to talk to people. Classes are scattered all over different buildings, meaning you see new faces constantly—don't freeze up, just use it to network. As for societies? Don't just blindly join a million things. Be smart about what actually aligns with your goals. You're definitely going to hit some serious culture shock too, but don't lose who you are just trying to fit in. Adapt, sure, but keep your core intact.
Likes (Public transportation): Since Manchester has 3 big universities and a huge student population, the public transportation system is quite smooth running. In fact, most locals/non-students also use the bus and tram as their primary mode of travel. Apart from the once-in-a-while tram strike, you can get to universities and other parts of the city quite easily, and it is not as expensive—less than 2 pounds for a one-way bus ride and even less for the tram. I would recommend getting a student pass, as it makes things even more cost-effective.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent settlement post-education as an international student means you need a sponsored job. At the moment finding a job that has visa sponsorship is an issue, but luckily there is the 2-year paid post-study work visa that you can take to try and get employment. It is, however, quite a task to apply for hundreds of jobs and can take a toll on mental health, but that is up to the individual student if it is worth the struggle. In my case I didn't want to stay there long-term, so I found other ways to progress my career outside the UK

Studying abroad- University of Manchester journey.
Tips: Look, moving from India to Manchester was honestly just a massive jump—it was exciting, sure, but also way more overwhelming at first than I'd planned for. Between trying to survive the freezing weather and just figuring out a totally different uni system, those first few weeks were honestly just a bit of a blur. You really have to be ready to put yourself out there and just start looking for any volunteering or part-time gigs you can find to get some experience. Since I didn’t have any scholarships or anything like that to fall back on, I basically had to be proactive from day one. It’s a lot to take in, especially with the food and the social side of things being so different, but you just have to dive in and figure it out as you go. It’s just a lot.
Likes (Indian Food): I prefer cooking myself. I got all the ingredients options near by the University campus. It is very accessible and easy to shop for Indian groceries. There are many south Asian cafes, restaurants and shops in the campus near Curry mile Road. The pricing is okay.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Look, with the way the rules for staying here just keep on changing all the time lately, you really have to stop and think about what you actually want before you even look at the long haul. Honestly, I’m not really leaning toward the UK for PR or anything anyway. Given my background and everything, I’m pretty sure I’d have a decent chance at getting it if I actually wanted to—it’s just not where my head is at right now. I guess you just have to figure out what really matters to you before jumping into any massive life decisions like that. It’s just a lot to weigh up.

You won't learn significantly more than you did during your bachelor's degree in India.
Tips: I got bicentary global futures scholarship, the allowance is 8000 pounds. I am not satisfied with the course, country and university; they don't consider the difficulties that international students face. I believe education in India is far better than in the UK.
Likes (Public transportation): It is connected very nicely; there are trams and buses. It's expensive if you compare it to India. The prices increase every year. It's convenient to walk and then take the bus. If you travel in larger groups, take a cab, and you can split the same amount. The bus fare is 2 pounds one way.
Dislikes (Internships): You just get guidance for resume making, but you have to find and apply by yourself. No relevant internships. They dont take international students at all. You will see that all the Britishers of your class are getting it but not you as an international student.

Strong faculty, academically inclined, but poor career support.
Tips: Manchester + Uom genuinely changed me. I'd lived abroad in Sweden before, so moving countries wasn't new, but Manchester hits different. Manchester feels different, cloudy, social, and full of character. Living here has made me more patient and open-minded just by living in such a diverse place. It is also super safe compared to India, and that safety unlocks a new kind of confidence; you start feeling like the world is your playground. I become more independent, more secure in my own style, and more me. Day-to-day is very "Oxford Road main arc" where life circles lectures, library, coffee runs, and constantly running into people because the whole stretch is basically student central. When I am not in lectures, I am mostly hiking around speak district, people watching around NQ, or on my way to inhale food on Curry Mile. And the rain is super annoying at first, but as you go through the seasons, you go from gloomy to romanticising the rain, where later on you huddle up and imagine yourself as an indie movie character. Academically, the University of Manchester is strong. For data Science, a lot of teaching staff are from other departments, so they are genuinely experts in their fields. All the professors are warm and welcoming in general. I would suggest the university for students who want to pursue further studies. A lot of students secured partial and full ride schlorhsip, especially within the school of engineering and AMBS. Overall, being in university is strong academically, but there is not much support career wise 70% of the class always move back home, and the rest struggle due to international passports and strict government regulations. Even though I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, I think it is a better option to apply in the EU or Australia.
Dislikes (Internships): The University of Manchester has a dedicated careers centre but the support feels more like it only exists in theory. The practical support available for postgrad students seeking internships is limited in effectiveness. The opportunities are mostly available to students who already carry relevant work experience (2+ years) in their home country or are British passport holders. Many capable fresh college graduates struggle to secure a job despite making active efforts. There are no readily available internships; the university does have some programs in different schools, such as engineering or medicine but again these resources are mostly centred around undergrad students.

The city is well connected.
Tips: The culture is a bit different but one can easily adapt to it. I did not avail any scholarship for this course. It's a self learning course, the professors help with the work but the majority of the work is expected to be done by the student. This is a bit different from the learning structure in India.
Likes (Public transportation): The city is well connected. Bus is the cheapest mode of transportation 5-6 for an entire day. There are many reliable alternatives as well, in case of schedule changes due to weather, strike, etc. The transport system is very efficient for students.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Current changes in government might influence the route to ILR. Once someone lands a sponsorship, the route to ILR is quite straightforward. Would recommend students to have a look at the roles that are currently in demand before picking their course/specialisation.

Great experiences, vibrant city and a good student culture.
Tips: For my particular course which was the MBA, it is vital to have solid work experience. This is important for doing well in the course and for getting a job later. -There are many cultural differences as compared to India, but a student will experience them only when they arrive here. You need to be more outgoing as compared to India, be able to hold conversations with a barista of a coffee shop as well as a director in a company. Manchester is very diverse and is a wonderful city for students, very vibrant, very happening and not as expensive. I was awarded a scholarship of 7000 GBP based on my work experience and GMAT score. I was awarded this by the university and did not apply for it separately. Very satisfied with everything, I believe this is the best value for money MBA among the top business schools in the UK.
Likes (Safety): Manchester is a safe town, in general UK is quite safe. I have been around the city at 3 AM too and never felt unsafe. There are probably one or two streets where I would not venture out alone at night but for the most part it is safe. I have never had any bad incidents. The most popular crime that takes place is phone snatching, but there is a very easy solution to this, which is not to use your phones while walking on the street.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Various global cuisines are available in Manchester which is the most vibrant city in the UK outside of London. Indian food options are quite limited/average compared to other UK cities. I usually prefer cooking myself but occasionally eat out too.

Excellent and friendly university.
Tips: The University of Manchester is excellent. It is filled with people who are there to help you, and you have the freedom to explore your hobbies. I adjusted quite well with everyone and did not experience much cultural shift. I received an academic scholarship worth 7,000. If you are eligible, the university takes you into consideration without having to apply. I am quite satisfied with the university and the country. However, I would have liked it if the course had been paced more effectively and we had been taught more relevant material.
Likes (Indian Food): It is a cultural hub and you can find any cuisine quite easily. Especially in Manchester there is a street called Curry Mile which has shops from India, Pakistan and even Middle Eastern countries. The pricing varies from shop to shop. I prefer cooking my food because it allows me to put as much spice in the food as I want.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I'm not sure how many companies offer sponsored visas, but there are quite a few. Sponsorship is not based on the role; however, roles in AI and data Science see more sponsorship. For a sponsored role, your salary should be above 32,000 GBP while junior roles tend to start from 24,000-26,000 GBP.

Good courses and high competition.
Tips: The business and STEM courses are among the most popular programs here so the quality of education is high and so is demand hence, course registration can and will get intense. The city is very vibrant and cheaper to live as compared to cities like London. Very global campus and professors are very good at what they do. Part time work is limited so you'll have to keep trying for one that fits your schedule.

The university is good but can do better in terms of administration and student services.
Tips: I was quite confused at the start but the student body is helpful and so are the professors. The university can do better in terms of administration and student services, but other than that, Manchester is a nice and liveable city. Winters are brutal, and things shut down early in the evening. The maximum you can work is 20 hours, so be very careful to maintain that.

The university is good and classes are collaborative and engaging.
Tips: Learn to make your own interpretations, as classes are not based on rote learning or mugging up from the textbooks. The professors are keen to hear your thoughts and opinions out loud, and classes are collaborative as well. Lots of fellow Indians and Indian food places are spread around the city. The city of living is less than London but high nonetheless.

Good university where different culture meets.
Tips: The University of Manchester is a good place to experience different cultures because students from different cultures and countries come there. Some scholarships have to be applied for 7 months before the university starts and the university has professors from different countries and experiences. There are career guidance and CV preparation guides available at the University. However the UK job market is tough for international students, so finding an internship or job takes many applications and rejections. Unfortunately, there are no internships available for Master's students.
Likes (Indian Food): There are plenty of restaurants for every taste including Indian, Chinese, Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine as well as popular fast food joints like Subway, McDonald’s and Domino’s. However dining out at these establishments can get expensive and I personally find it much more cost effective to cook my meals.

The environment is chill and the lecturers are supportive.
Tips: If anyone wants to Join University of Portsmouth, it's a friendly campus. But for better part-time job options people should move to Southampton as it's more diverse here. I have lived my whole campus life in Southampton. Job opportunities are better here, nightlife is better here as compared to Portsmouth, and it's more diverse here.
Likes (Indian Food): Food is never a problem, not just in Portsmouth or Southampton but I guess all over the UK, as students have access to every Indian food in Local supermarket of the UK, even in Mega Stores like ASDA, Lidl, Tesco. I live in Southampton and we have some really good Indian restaurants like Coriander and Bayleaf. My personal favourite Indian Restaurant is Coriander for a good wine and dine.
Dislikes (Value for money): I don't think the tuition fee for M.Sc.. Sports Management is justified as there are no Internships provided by the university itself. I do think so if a student is paying around 25,000 for his M.Sc., there should be some internships provided by the university for the betterment of the student in shaping his career.

A great place with academic excellence and top notch education.
Tips: The University of Portsmouth is one of the top universities of the country so it takes a great academic record to get in here. First, you should have a great score in your previous qualification. Before coming here prepare yourself and write an extraordinary application. Also, look for scholarships because having a scholarship will reduce your burden. And in last get counselling from experts and former students, they will help you in getting most of the insights.
Likes (Safety): The University of Portsmouth is located in Portsmouth, the UK's only island city. The University offers a vibrant campus with great facilities for students. The campus is full of various cultural clubs which helps in finding own kind of feel in a different country. The cultural clubs organize various events. The various communities help the students with their daily problems. There are around 140 various clubs and communities. If you are coming here then it's a great choice no doubt. You will enjoy the campus.
Dislikes (Part time work): The University of Portsmouth is well known for its teaching quality and academic excellence. The faculty here is amongst the top in the country. So, no doubt the faculty is top-notch. The diversity among the teachers makes students from different countries comfortable here. The methodology is great in terms of everything. Our department has many international teachers who are well-recognised in their respective fields. Overall, it's a great place for finding top faculty in the country.

Top University for research power.
Tips: There are many things that students should keep in their mind before coming to the University of Portsmouth. They should know the entry requirements. The acceptance rate for international students is 70%. Prepare for interviews because they take interviews for some courses sometimes. They gave scholarships based on your last course percentage. I am satisfied with the university and course.
Likes (Student Life): The University of Portsmouth is pretty good for students. They provide every necessity that a student should have and the career opportunities are great. There are many events for the students. We Indians celebrate every kind of festival there. There are cultural clubs also which organize various events. There are great facilities for interactive learning and sports. In a nutshell, it is a great hub for enjoying student life.
Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty of University of Portsmouth is passionate and very helpful. They are dedicated towards the progress of students. They are always available for help. They have a unique way of teaching and the most important thing is that they teach and deliver their lectures in a well-organized way. Many teachers from different countries are there and it makes me feel good to see them teaching in their own ways.

Internships and placement opportunities are available.
Tips: No need to worry or panic before coming it is a very good place to study. Friendly, supportive and cooperative with international students because that is how this university is very diverse. No security problem and I, as a girl always feel safe even outside the campus. Library is where I spend most of my time and I feel peace there and Portsmouth is peaceful too on whole.
Likes (Internships): Work placements happen as I said before and they usually happen for 36 weeks I have read that around 17000 pounds are the average package for that regarding internships. So most of the students find themselves on the portals like jobisjob and graduatejobs bright network is another good portal for internships only.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): University organises recruitment fair and career events but these are mostly need-based, most of the time startups come to take part in the university. Also there are many jobs posted on the job board but still, like it happens in the top colleges of India it does not happen here, mega recruitment is something I have not seen as of now but I am still studying so I don't know much about it.

A university to get admitted to
Tips: The buildings of the university are scattered and not in a place so many students sometimes find it a bit difficult to move from one lecture to the other. But with me it is not the case, our school of business is unique I must say! Gym facilities are great but there can be some improvements done to student career support in terms of searching the jobs or making the most out of placement year. Student community is good no doubt and there are many research opportunities too so if you are coming from India think like you will get many opportunities.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty has to be the best part of this university. So helpful and supportive even if they see an underperforming student for them everyone is equal and they also understand the shift in the education system and try to make the transition very smooth. There is a good chance to make a good bond with any professor on campus.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Before coming learn something to make simple things like tea/coffee, maybe some veggies or basic curries so very little money will be spent. Saving is the key to living a student life. Indian food is available but the restaurants are expensive nothing like the street style. I spend somewhere between 175 GBP- 200 GBP on food each month which I think is fair.

I like this university it has everything.
Tips: Many Indian and African students study in Portsmouth and it feels like home so many places to visit. There are many good architecture spots as well and many bridges and parks to enjoy. People are very nice and they greet me also. I think I got a 3000-pound scholarship and it is given to international students on grades. My course is very industry made and the tutors are also from many countries not only from the UK so they teach many things and also give examples from the countries by which they come.
Likes (Public transportation): Buses, trains, tube, bicycles, taxi every mode is there no problem to travel and public transport is not expensive. Good for students like me. University also has buses which are free of cost which goes round across Portsmouth so that is also very helpful for students.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): No complain I have on the permanent settlement. Some members from my family have already come to UK so I don't think there is any problem but a good job is necessary and internships should also be good. It is top-notch country to live in everything is first-class education, healthcare and security. Work visa for 5 years and then ILR application can be done to stay permanent so everything starts with one step.

This college is fun and good to make friends
Tips: There is an international allowance available which is about 3000-4000 Pounds. Acceptance to this university is not very tough just submit documents on time and the process should be smooth. The area is good everything is available nearby, all grocery stores are near to college also no problem with accommodation. Many Indians studying can take a shared room too which will not cost much. Cook the food yourself it will be cheap and better. Bring some spices with you as they are very cheap. Dhaniya is very costly and no chilli is free. The curriculum is smartly put together.
Tips: When I thought of studying abroad, I always wanted to study somewhere beautiful and so I love being in Portsmouth. The people, the area everything is so good. The courses in this university are good which makes it a good choice. If you are from a business course you'll not have to think more about the course selection the B-school got it covered. No unnecessary modules are present. Simple, to the point and very forthcoming in the end.
Likes (Safety): The university provides free bus service which we take by just showing our student ID. Facility support is very good. No issues of security and the crime rate is also low. The college also provides housing support and this facility is also good. There are also campus emergency numbers and helplines.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is good and comes from many countries. Many guest lecturers also come and that is the best part of this course. I have not seen such jolly faculty in India anywhere. Sometimes it is not like what students say that everything is easy while talking about teaching. It's good. The teachers are nice and really helpful. There are always events going on to enjoy.
Tips: There are fewer part time jobs available in this city while studying. I didn't have any cultural shifts because I found a lot of students here back from my home country. I am quite satisfied with the course because the teachers are quite nice and helpful.
Likes (Quality of faculty): There are less physical exams and more assignments to work on. The teachers are helpful and nice to students. The teachers are also happy to reply to the students by mail if they have any doubts about their coursework or assignments. I really enjoy their teaching style.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): If someone managers to get a sponsored job in this country then it's quite easy for them to settle. I would probably settle if I manage to get a full-time sponsored job but for me who has no previous work experience it is hard to get into a job here.

University of Portsmouth's coursework is satisfying.
Tips: To be very honest there was no cultural shifts that I experienced. Because everything is good here all the people are familiar here and want to connect with us so I like the people and their mentality because I want to adopt our culture. Before coming here every student should know about the scholarship details because there are lots of scholarship options for international students as I also avail 31400 scholarship. There are some early bird scholarships like first come first serve.
Likes (Indian Food): As in portsmouth there are lots of restaurants and cuisins some of them are Indian cuisines also in which we get all types of Indian food. Being an international student if we can find such food it is a great option. If we talk about the pricing they are not too costly and all items are within budget. I prefer cooking myself because it is a good option in comparison to eating outside.
Dislikes (Safety): As according to my experience here the university provides full privacy and security. There is a student union here to solve every problem and guide us for every step. There are anti- harassement, anti-ragging, and some student university squads to provide complete security and guidance for every student.

Beautiful scenery and good quality life in Portsmouth.
Tips: No need to worry before coming to Portsmouth. Many Indians live around Southampton or nearby areas. Many events take place around the city where we get to meet and greet people from many nationalities. A lot to do here without getting bored with anything. I live close to the town centre so no worries about shopping too. Accommodation outside is also very good. Neat and tidy rooms, nicely ventilated. The library is very spacious and has many computers to access the material. Student union and sports are excellent. It is always good to take a walk around Gunwharf Quays. It is indeed a beautiful city.
Dislikes (Internships): One good thing is that all the internships are paid which we don't see mostly in South Asia. The college helps a bit but students need to search for internships on their own mostly. For my course, it is a bit tricky to secure one because of competition in the Law field. Internships are relevant but always a tough nut to crack.

Portsmouth is a beautiful City. College is good as well.
Tips: Both faculty and students are from many countries around the world. The campus is close to many tourist spots so it is not boring. Good to enjoy with friends. The only thing that we Indians struggle with in Portsmouth is the weather. It is usually very chilly and around January, February it gets very cold but accommodations do have the necessary arrangements so one does get used to it. There are some issues related to mobile and connectivity but it is not that much it is bearable. Always look out for better SIM providers when coming to this city.
Likes (Post study jobs): More jobs than Canada are available and a sponsor visa is just what is needed. Some of my friends are working across the UK having around 25k pound package just after graduation but for that good project, reports need to be shown. The college is value for money.
Tips: Culture is good in and out of classroom. I got good professors who listen and help with assignments. More focus is given to case studies and assignments which sometimes are tricky but they have more grade points. Group assignments/team assignments make the culture good. The scholarship is not much only some bursaries are present for international Masters students but still, the college is worth it.
Likes (Safety): No problem related to safety. Students are working as part-time and even out of campus there is no issue. Just no need to indulge in wrong practices which cause problems. No one passes a judgment in Hampshire until you do your work. Meet people and be nice and you won't face any problems in future.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Many Turkish and middle eastern restaurants are present. Hallal options are also available for Muslims but as a student it gets very costly as compared to India. A simple Kebab costs around 4-5 pounds which is just 60-100 rupees in India or at max 200.
