Master of Science in Transportation/Master of Science in Technology and Policy - Batch of 2024
3.7
Funded Masters at MIT with lots of events and activities.
Tips: Students should know that many MIT Masters programs, including TPP, are fully funded through RAships. You can apply to multiple MIT programs in the same application cycle, and you can also apply for a dual master's degree with other departments after you are admitted to an MIT program. The allowance is almost $45,000 per year, in addition to tuition and health coverage. This amount is sufficient to live in Boston and save some money.
Likes (Student Life): There are lots of fun activities to do in Boston. You can also learn how to sail for free. There are many clubs on campus that you can join for free. Boston is very bikeable so you can bike anywhere within the city. It's very pretty in the fall. People also regularly rent cars to hike in New Hampshire.
Dislikes (Part time work): You will be on a RAship so there is no need for part time for most MIT grad programs except Sloan ones. Taking on additional part-time activities might be restricted by your F1 visa. You won't need additional sources of income over RAship money and you won't have the time for it.

Friendly and welcoming campus.
Tips: Might be too expensive, the cafeteria and books, the travelling but overall the college is really amazing and the students and professors are very helpful. The professors encourage us to participate in various college functions; overall, it's great.

Good quality of education.
Tips: One thing you should remember before coming here is that it’s not a learning machine, so just chill and try different activities. Participate in various activities and keep calm. You can also apply for scholarships here because it’s quite easy to avail it and you’ll save a lot of money.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The campus life is fun. Obviously, you’re at a top institute but you learn with intellectual people. It’s hectic and fruitful at the same time. There are a lot of events that are organised here. You not only study here but also learn different activities. I’m a part of the dance club and it’s quite fun.
Dislikes (Safety): The teaching faculty is quite diverse and knowledgeable. They have detailed knowledge about every aspect of the subject. You not only skim but also learn here. They adopt advanced teaching methodology so you can learn in an easier way. In terms of nationality too, they come from different backgrounds and races, so they interact together so there’s no discrimination here.

MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science - Batch of 2025
4.6
Great university and country.
Tips: The transition to a new place was initially a mix of excitement and challenge. Academically, I had to adapt to a more independent and practical learning environment compared to the more theoretical style I was used to.
Likes (Student Life): My college life is filled with wonderful memories, and my teachers encourage me to study harder. My university has a vibrant campus culture that makes it easy to be part of social events on and off campus. We have so many student clubs and societies, and we participate in numerous events. I love that our campus hosts major events, including cultural festivals and academic career events.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food is very tasty and hygienic. They have a good selection of popular Indian dishes. The famous restaurants are budget-friendly eateries. I like eating inside and outside and they're not very expensive here.

Master of Science in Transportation/Master in City Planning - Batch of 2020
3.7
It has been an exceptional experience studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Tips: Before joining college students should research the college's culture academic programs and campus resources. They should also understand their scholarship and financial aid options. To make a smooth transition students should seek out supportive professors and peers. They should also prepare for cultural and academic adjustments and join clubs and organizations to build connections. To apply for a scholarship students should submit their academic transcripts and essays through the college's website. The scholarship allowance can help students focus on their academics and extracurricular activities.
Likes (Safety): I feel grateful to be part of such a supportive community. I have had extremely positive experiences in the city. The local community is friendly and welcoming with many amenities and services available to support students. I have never felt threatened or unsafe while exploring the city. I got lost in the city during my first week. A local resident approached me and offered to help me find my way back to campus.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are some job opportunities available, the process of securing a sponsor visa can be challenging and competitive. There are a limited number of companies that offer sponsor visas for international students and the job roles and salary packages offered to international students vary depending on the industry, company, and job requirements. A company might offer a sponsor visa for a position in a specific field or industry but the salary package for that position might not be as competitive as other positions that do not require a sponsor visa. Software engineer, data analyst and IT consultant roles are common with salary packages ranging from 60,000 to 100,000 dollars per year.

Great experience, good faculty and coursework.
Tips: Transitioning to university life coming from your home country is much easier when you stay open, make friends and take as much part as you can in activities. Scholarships range from 15 - 30% range, and a strong grade in high school can definitely land you a good scholarship. Students interested in IT and Tech careers should definitely keep UTS as a priority as they offer excellent faculty and coursework in the field. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the course, university and the country.
Likes (Part time work): Part-time is manageable as long as you stick with the 48 hours per fortnight rule. A hard way to find part time currently due to the current market condition which is overloaded with students and workers. It is possible but students should be prepared to work hard for it.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent settlement at the moment requires a good job placement and sponsorship. Due to the number of students coming lately, the immigration process is getting stricter, with only some candidates getting permanent residence. If given a chance, it is worth trying to aim for getting settled in the country.

Embracing Diversity and Innovation at UTS.
Tips: I was born here and transitioned from high school to college. It was overwhelming at the start but eventually I got things working. I didn't face any cultural shift because UTS is a diverse university with people coming from different background and cultures. I didn't get any scholarships before, but there are plenty of them offered to both domestic and international students. It should be applied through the university's website. I would give my satisfaction a 9/10 rating because thanks to my studies and internship experiences, I got a job at NBN. Cost of living in Sydney is horrendous, but the culture is fantastic. I love my course and the things I learned from the university because they are practical.
Likes (Indian Food): Diverse food restaurants are available (Indian, Chinese, Mexican, etc.). Harris Park is basically a little India where you can get everything Indian. The only downside is the price which can get pretty expensive due to high cost of living in Sydney, but the quality is excellent. I mostly cook and eat myself, but I do eat outside at least once a week.
Dislikes (Internships): Finding internships are challenging and very competitive but if you have the right skills and connections, you could get it. If you are unable to get an internship, then UTS will help you find one within the campus. There are plenty of internships available regarding IT, but it's very challenging to get one due to high volume of applicants. So, connection is the key to get an internship.

Master of Information Technology - Batch of 2024

4.2
One of the best University in Sydney with great faculty.
Tips: The university contributes a lot to my transformation journey. We get to learn a lot every day and meet people of different cultures and backgrounds, which is a wonderful experience. I had a 20% scholarship for my course study. The scholarship depends on your SOP and academic performance in your Bachelors. I am very fortunate to be at this university.
Likes (Internships): The guidance given at my university to apply for internships and jobs is excellent and there is a career hub department at the university where they help you build your resume guide with interview preparation, and they do have a website for jobs and internships. There will be a lot of networking events that help students build connections with industry professionals, which will indeed help in finding jobs and internships.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I am on a student visa and I will get a 3-year post-study work visa after this. During or after this period, we will be able to apply for PR. I haven't explored that option much. It depends on the course and the experience for accumulating points for PR (permanent president). I would like to permanently immigrate to this country.

The university has a practical approach towards academics.
Tips: I got a scholarship through an agent. Students should try going through an agent. Plenty of available courses with good faculty from business to medicine to sciences. The selection process was quite straight forward and they responded with an offer promptly post-checking your academic and previous employment (if any).
