Variety of extracurricular opportunities and friendly atmosphere.
Tips: I transition pretty well because of the people who are quite friendly. But there are cultural socks. I got a scholarship of 25% of my tuition fees. I applied for it by providing an essay of my achievements. I am quite satisfied by the course and the activities.
Likes (Indian Food): There are so many options. Even grocery stores and clothing options are in abundance. I prefer to cook at home because it is more budget-friendly and you get an essence of your home. I do eat out sometimes, as there are so many options to choose from, and you have student discounts.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The contact hours are very few. And it is hard to contact them out of lecture hours. And the methodology is that we have block courses that are 2 modules each semester. And there are a total of 3 semesters and one major project, which runs for three months.

Dont keep an expectation of a post study job, if you are an international student.
Tips: Jobs are very limited. Even for part time jobs there are 1000+ applications. If you are joining to get a degree and come back, the university is very good. But don't keep an expectation of personal support for job search or applications. Attendance for international students is crucial. They keep a secret check and inform the UK Home Office (immigration); the same for assignments and exams.
Likes (Public transportation): NCTX buses and trams in Nottingham are very convenient and professional. The Trentbarton buses, Mango buses are good for inter country traveling. Also, Broadmarsh bus station is like 10 minutes walk from the city centre from where you can take different buses like National Express or Flix buses to different parts of the country. Even to Scotland! The train station is clean and good too with fewer delays. The East Midlands airport is a bit far but can easily be traveled via a bus from the city centre.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): They don't support in applications or even job search. They have their general newsletter every week mentioning part time/full time options, often not catered to your course. Most of the organisations are only hiring regional/national students and not international students, as they need more than 40 hours and student visa only allows 20 hours. The university doesn't help at all. They have job fair where they only hand out basic pamphlets but no actual hiring happens there.

A supportive, student-friendly university that helps you grow beyond academics.
Tips: There's nothing drastically different to know compared to any other university - but building the right connections early makes a big difference. Get involved in student work groups or volunteering opportunities as soon as you can. If possible, try to gain some experience in your field before you come here; even an unpaid internship can be a great advantage. 2. I personally did not receive a scholarship, the reason wasn't specified, but a few of my peers did. The competition is quite high, and many factors influence the selection process. With constantly changing government policies & fluctuating intake scholarship opportunities can vary significantly from year to year. So, lets try & hope for the best. While the courses could have included a bit more practical or challenging content I gained much more than just academic knowledge. I learned about different cultures, people & life in general. I've truly grown as a person since coming here. The university is friendly & supportive. One of my favourite places is the 24/7 library access it's a lifesaver, especially if your laptop crashes right before a submission! The city itself is very student-friendly, with plenty of discounts, shops, restaurants and places to explore. There are also places of worship for everyone, which makes it a very inclusive & welcoming environment.

NTU provides good guidance through career services, CV workshops, and employer events.
Tips: Nottingham Trent University offers modern facilities, a diverse culture and strong career links. The transition was smooth with the support even though the study style differed. I gained tuition fee scholarships, which eased the cost. I'm satisfied with my course, the university and life in the UK.
Likes (Public transportation): NTU is well connected by trams, buses and trains. The campus is in the city centre, making travel quick and convenient. Student passes make fares affordable and frequent services make computing easy and reliable.
Dislikes (Internships): NTU provides good guidance through career services, CV workshops and employers events. Many internships are relevant to my field but competition is high and some roles are unpaid which makes access slightly challenging.

Felt lively with all the events and fellow students.
Tips: It's pretty much normal, and the transition for undergraduate courses is much tougher than for master's. Not much preparation is required to adjust, but start applying for internships as soon as possible so that it's easier to transition to full-time work, as experience matters.
Likes (Part time work): Many workplaces, like restaurants, offer flexible hours that accommodate the university schedule, which is a definite advantage. As a student in a major city, there are numerous opportunities to apply for part-time work, and it's relatively easy to find a position, especially with a reference.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are plenty of Indian restaurants, but they aren't as good as traditional Indian food. Fortunately, there are also plenty of Indian grocery stores, so cooking isn't a problem. You have to travel to Leicester for good Indian food; the ones in Notts are not up to par, so learn to cook or suffer.

Nottingham is a vibrant student city with a diverse mix of cultures.
Tips: There are great scholarships offered by the university, and you should definitely apply. There are many Indian people here, so don't worry about fitting in. Also, good Indian food and festivals are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm at the Hindu temple every year.
Likes (Safety): Campus and overall Nottingham are very safe. The people are helpful, and the university offers various facilities to support students. I can personally attest to the safety; it was safe for me to walk back from the train station to my accommodation at 2:30 am. Public transport is also very safe.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are not many companies sponsoring students due to new immigration regulations, making it difficult to find a job, but skills matter. IT job roles are generally available, starting around 5,000 per year, and part-time work is varied and also available.

Masters at NTU is a roadmap to self growth.
Tips: There are scholarships easily achievable. Look for them and prepare well, as they can be up to £30,000. The course is designed to be largely independent study, so self-motivation is key. The university takes plagiarism and academic writing very seriously; reading papers and citing them correctly is very important. Come with patience and a genuine interest in learning and growing. Culturally, there is so much to learn in the city, so come with an open mind and open arms.
Likes (Student Life): NTU City campus is in the city centre, offering many activities between and after classes. The library is great for studying, with a small cafeteria. There is a park right next to the university, and many pubs, clubs, and restaurants nearby. There are always events happening, such as girls' nights at the NTU Pubs, quizzes and games at the student cultural center, and sports events at the student union. Participation in activities is encouraged, and living in student accommodation is even better. There are clubs for fashion, sports, theatre, dance, and art, and you can start a club if one doesn't exist.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Sponsorship for creative roles was always difficult to obtain and has become even more so since July 22nd. While many jobs are available, landing one is more challenging if you lack prior experience. Salary packages for freshers typically range from £250,000 to £300,000, depending on the role and city.

Very limited internship opportunities.
Tips: Students can apply for various scholarships by following the university's instructions. I didn't experience a cultural shift, as approximately 90% of my class were Asian. While the university is alright, other universities offering similar tuition fees, such as Manchester Met, are better overall.
Likes (Public transportation): It is well-connected to all parts of the city. You can get student discounts at the beginning of the year, and there's no need to worry about being late to classes, as buses run every 10 minutes. Most importantly, Nottingham has an affordable tram system, and public transport is viable even at night.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There is no permanent settlement option. Furthermore, fashion jobs are not on the shortage occupation list, so there is no skilled worker visa for fashion graduates. Retail jobs, such as sales, and head office positions, like buying and merchandising, offer similar salaries.

Nottingham has fewer fashion-related job options because it's a smaller city.
Tips: Nottingham Trent University is a great option for international students. Many extracurricular activities are available and because the university is located in the city centre transportation is convenient for everyone. I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Indian Food): Being Indian I find a decent selection of food options in the city that satisfy my taste buds. While it's not exactly like home, it does manage to fulfil my cravings. Prices vary. Some places are expensive while others offer good value. The options are pretty good.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Nottingham has fewer fashion-related job options because it's a smaller city. Also there are limited job opportunities as many students live in the same city. While sales jobs are readily available they may not suit everyone leading to burnout.

Good university but can be very difficult to find any opportunity.
Tips: I think before coming to the UK, make sure you should acquire a skill that will greatly help you find a part-time job. I didn't receive any scholarships. The course was good, and we were taken to France for international exposure, but it's still difficult to find jobs in the UK.
Likes (Student Life): I made good friends and had good teachers. I went to France and really enjoyed it. We visited JCB headquarters, which was fun, and there were lots of events. I was also in the Sikh society, which was really good, and I made many friends. It was a great experience meeting new people.
Dislikes (Part time work): It's really difficult to find part-time jobs, even off campus. Job opportunities are scarce, and even on-campus positions are very rare. I would suggest trying local shops for part-time work.

Overall good, just difficult for immigration situation for graduates.
Tips: Be aware of UK immigration changes, the living costs and that many employers are unaware of the graduate visa. However, you'll gain more freedom and independence, meeting people from around the world, as almost everyone is friendly and welcoming. I received a scholarship of £2500 which most students also get. Just stay focused and apply early. The teaching and course quality are good.
Likes (Indian Food): The restaurants are good and Indian food is easily available though a bit pricey. I eat out occasionally. Also if you like trying different cuisines, they are readily available. I mostly prefer to cook at home, as it's cheaper. Groceries are easily available at multiple stores and you can find almost all the Indian groceries you need.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK has become increasingly challenging for migrants especially international students, due to recent policy changes. The government seems to be discouraging international students making post-study life more difficult. Another major issue is that employers are not aware of visa rules. Many organisations are unaware that the graduate visa allows us to work for them without their support for the next two years yet they are still reluctant to hire us.

Great place to study and explore.
Tips: Learn to budget properly, and the weather could be rainy. There is a cultural shift to more independent learning and a more direct communication style. The facilities are great, the faculty is very supportive, and the overall environment of the university is very productive. The courses are practical and have a lot of good industrial experience. The UK offers a lot of excellent opportunities.
Likes (Safety): Nottingham feels very safe. The campus has 24/7 security, CCTV, and emergency phones. The city offers a safe student area with well-lit streets and reliable public transport. Police respond quickly. The only mirror issue is that you should avoid the city centre late on Friday or Saturday nights because of the drunk crowds. Overall, I rate the city's safety as excellent.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market in the tech sector is very competitive for international students. Many companies offer sponsorships, but they prefer experienced candidates. Entry-level positions in software development and data analytics typically pay between 25,000 and 35,000 pounds per year. Large sponsors include Accenture, IBM, and Capgemini. After graduating, students can expect to spend between three and six months finding a sponsored position.

Nottingham Trent University provides all the required facilities for being a top-rated university.
Tips: The university is not gonna be easy, and you need to put in the work so you get the results that you’re expecting when you’re done with your uni. The resources are amazing, and there are a lot of technological resources that you can learn and use through inductions. The faculty will help you out if you put in the right effort.
Likes (Value for money): I feel like the amount I paid was worth it. I learned a lot, and I did a lot of work, and the faculty is definitely amazing when it comes to helping out. The resources the college provides are also really insane, and it’s purely about whether you used the resources and got to learn.
Dislikes (Part time work): The university hardly provides any part-time jobs, and it’s purely up to you to find your own. I found mine by directly approaching companies and shops, and that’s how I got the job. I think that the university doesn’t provide stable, permanent part-time positions, so you’d have to find your own, whether they last a month or two or longer, while you’re going to university.

The UK offers a short-term boost to your career via NTU's strong industry ties.
Tips: NTU has a lively social scene and an international community, so you can expect a mix of cultures, especially in business courses. The NTU Global Lounge hosts various cultural programs to participate in. My personal opinion is that NTU is perfect if you want a practical career-driven education. I also received a 10,000 scholarship.
Likes (Part time work): It's not difficult to find a part-time job; there are plenty of opportunities inside the campus, such as ambassadors, library receptionists, assistants, etc. Outside of the campus, you will be able to find some jobs in a food chain. There are lots of Indian restaurants nearby, Nottingham has 2 big warehouse stores, Boots, and Sports Direct.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK offers a short-term boost to your career via NTU's strong industry ties, but a long-term settlement is difficult. You'll always need luck, persistence, and a backup plan. Strict UK Visa policies have made it harder than ever to secure any sponsorship roles. If you're planning to come to the UK, I would advise you to check the shortage occupations list, available on the UK government website and choose a course accordingly.

NTU is a great place for international students especially for beginners with no experiences.
Tips: M.Sc. Cyber Security is a niche course and the ones who have experience in this field might find the course fairly basic. The faculty is okay, facilities are at par like all the UK universities. Book your accommodation before coming here for sure, and look for part time asap. Get onboard with agencies I've shared above and research on more to get part time work. If possible, take education from a bigger city like Glasgow since they've great part time opportunities and a better city life compared to Nottingham.
Likes (Safety): Nottingham City Council has taken appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the residents. All the buses and public transport have CCTV and generally the streets are crowded and giving students a sense of belonging and not making them feel lonely much.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are spare off campus opportunities and the on campus ones are few too. However, one can work with agencies like Hap, Constellation, Liquor Collectively, ARC, PSG, G4S, etc. To get shift based zero hour contact work. Indeed works well but I personally haven't gotten much luck here. However, with the above agencies, I've been working 20 hours/week give or take and it suffices my monthly expenses and helps in saving money as well.

Tips: Nottingham Trent is a good University to attend. It is also one of the safest cities. People here are very much friendly with international students. There are various events taking place on the campus in which you will get to know and interact with many new people. Moreover, public transport over here is convenient but it is a bit expensive for all those who are daily travelers. Likes (Public transportation): The city has well connected public transport, one of the bus routes directly connects the city from within the campus, and other routes are available just outside the campus, so good transportation. Apart from this, there is a train station nearby which connects the city with the rest of the UK.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The restaurants mainly serve food which is very expensive and also do not have the same Indian spice taste as it is available in India. I prefer cooking by myself. The food available here is good but not as per Indian spice and taste, it's more towards boiled food.

I have received a scholarship and was fortunate enough to gain distinction as well. I am 100% satisfied with what I have gained from my University.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): There are a lot of opportunities in this place, as there are a couple of universities which have the best outcomes for students. So the scope of getting a job and setting is more inclined towards the positive side of it rather than the negative side. And I have secured a job so my experience has been great.

Tips: Be prepared to apply mathematics. Every course in this university is mathematically heavy, and you will learn a lot as well. Mass Amherst does not provide any scholarships to master's students. But overall, the university is amazing for people who want to explore research and learn cutting-edge technologies.
Likes (Post study jobs): A lot of big tech companies do offer sponsor visas, and seniors in our college seem to be getting placed well. Our seniors have been placed in development roles like web development and cloud. Machine learning engineer roles are also available to students.
Dislikes (Part time work): Only dining jobs are available to graduation students, making it really convenient. Also, no research assistantship or teaching assistantship is available. Hourly positions are sometimes available in summer, but plan to have all finance already sorted.

Highly qualified faculty and a welcoming campus.
Tips: There has been a transition in various aspects of my life and personality. My courses in Mass have helped me in analysing things from various angles, which has improved my problem-solving skills and thinking ability. As my bachelor's was also in the USA, I would say life here has become quite familiar and comfortable for me. The downside is that if I don't get a job here within a certain time, I'll have to leave, and I haven't planned for that. Please keep your options in check before you commit and make the most of what you learn.

Great campus and an eye-opening experience.
Tips: Don't be afraid of change and allow things to happen to you. That's my conclusion about studying abroad in general, especially here. Some programs here are seriously underrated, and I feel I've gained a more in-depth knowledge here than I would have anywhere else. The campus is great, and you'll feel safe here throughout.

Lot of growth in so limited time.
Tips: I have indeed seen a lot of growth and understanding develop in me after moving here. One of the crucial things Mass taught me was adaptability. Extra credit will help you stay afloat in some of the trickier courses, and there are plenty of culture-friendly options in the form of restaurants and communities, so you will always feel a sense of belonging here. Travelling within the city is convenient and affordable for students.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There is barely any scope for actually finding a decent job after graduation here. Although some industries are open to hiring immigrants, that would be mainly in STEM fields, and it is becoming increasingly competitive by the day. Given a chance, I would love to live in this country after graduation.

An interesting sand meaningful experience.
Tips: I have transitioned well after coming here, and a lot of people back home can see the difference in my personality as well. The classes and coursework are intense, and you'll have to rely on yourself rather than expect too much spoon-feeding here. A lot of learning happens in group settings via projects and fieldwork.
Dislikes (Internships): With internships and jobs in general, a lot depends on your own network and ability to put yourself out there. There is not too much that the university involves itself with. What can help is striking a connection with professors and being active in classes and office hours.

There is an Indian student union and many events on campus. Try to participate in them.
Tips: I mainly chose to study here because of the affordability and strong faculty for my programme. Be ready for rough winters and get your winter essentials ready in time. The labs are well-equipped and huge, encouraging you to go all out. There is an Indian student union as well, and many other such cultural clubs on campus to be a part of.
Dislikes (Part time work): You are not really allowed to work part-time in a lot of places in the United States. Moreover, with my work schedule, it was really implausible to find time. You can look for roles within the campus, but that is also limited in scope and opportunities.

Great university in terms of research and it is really peaceful.
Tips: The transition to the University of Massachusetts Amherst was smooth academically, but there was a noticeable cultural shift socially. There are no scholarships at the University of Massachusetts Amherst at the master's level, but there are a few benefits like tuition waivers for Teaching Assistantships (TAs) or Research Assistantships (RAs) but not in courses like MS CS and MS B.A.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors are really good and focus on how well you have understood anything. They maintain regular office hours, and many are open to scheduling additional time if you have further questions or need guidance. The courses are designed to provide both theoretical and application-based knowledge. The university is well diverse.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no Indian restaurants nearby. Most of the foods are of different cuisines. The university does have its own dining facilities, where good food is provided but the food is mostly not from my country of origin. If you are looking for good Indian food, you will have to go to Boston.

UMass is a better place to be researcher
Tips: The coursework would be tough, the place is bit remote. There is no TA/RA positions but plenty of on-campus jobs are available. Learn to balance everything together. Master's journey is not as easy as it seems in India and the education pattern is very different. Hence, one needs to break the stereotypes before pursuing this dream.

Explore as much as possible. Good course.
Tips: Not much cultural shift is there to experience. No scholarships are there at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Everything is good as of now, courses are also good. Umass is a bit of research oriented so if you are interested to research then go for it. Very less systems courses, so if you are not into AI/ML things then think again.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is pretty cool, there are many gyms and many sports activities if you are interested. The food also is great in the commons where you can get all sorts of foods including Indian food, so it's pretty much covered, and the living is a bit expensive which is a problem.
Dislikes (Value for money): It's very expensive so think about that as well. And there are no TA or RA jobs so that is another minus point. The only part time allowed is the UMass dining, which helps you get food and money which is decent enough and also there will be no way of income.

Course framework is good for work opportunities.
Tips: TA/RAs are not allowed in the CS department but it is allowed in the other departments. Happy with the course. Scholarships are not available for this course. A cultural shift is also present. Food is difficult to get from India so knowing cooking before coming here is a must.
Likes (Value for money): Course content is good. ML is upcoming and Mass Amherst has a very high rating for Machines Learning or Data Science concentration in Computer Science. For other courses, there is a possibility of TA/RA and in MS CS there is a possibility of gradership. Even good part-time jobs are available to keep you giving.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent immigration is difficult in the US. But after doing an MS the chances are less since H-1B renewal is less. If the school is offering Ph.D. programs and is a public land-grant university, like Mass Amherst, it will offer Ph.D. programs and will give you a chance at immigration options.

Extremely good for Computer Science
Tips: This university does provide TA or RA easily. Grade posts can be applied and is quite easy to get into. Otherwise, there are plenty of research opportunities and diversified faculty research fields. Courses such as RL are a must for computer Science students as the concepts are originated here.
Likes (Part time work): There are about 4 dining common and 1 canteen, hence plenty of openings are available for students. They allow the student employees to eat there after their shifts and provide a health and wellness fund. The pay per hour is also good enough Hence, the benefits are plenty.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian restaurants are very few at Amherst, compared to other cities in the US. There are about 3 restaurants about 10 miles away from the place, good authentic Indian food. Either way, you have an option in Doordash from these restaurants. Cannot expect too many options.
