The university provides many on campus opportunities to grow and build connections.
Tips: Initially, I was concerned about the transition to this university, but it turned out to be a smooth one. I fit in perfectly and didn't feel like there was anything I couldn't do. I didn't have any scholarships before joining and I had applied for it through clearing. The city is very warm and welcoming. The faculty are easily approachable and will as well guide you throughout your assignments. Make sure to participate in events and seminars which are held on campus. Overall, I am very satisfied with the university and its courses.

Safest city for students. Focus on work and tasks assigned to you.
Tips: Students coming should know the difference in education between India and Western countries. Understand the structure of your course modules in order to improve your overall work and studies. Work on assignments and projects as soon as you receive them instead of leaving them last minute.
Likes (Safety): One of the safest cities in this country. A small and bustling town, it is very quiet and safe to travel in even at night. However certain amount of caution must always be observed. Staying in groups at night or using public transportation is a good way to keep vigilance.
Dislikes (Part time work): Not enough part time opportunities in the city and University. Yet there are multiple job opportunities being created by the University. Will need time but slowly and surely everyone can get part-time opportunities if they are patient enough. Very important to create connections.

Life at Swansea University is satisfying in terms of both academics and personal growth.
Tips: As for transitioning to Swansea University, it's common to face a cultural shift, with the difference in language, food, social customs, and academic expectations. Regarding scholarships, Swansea University offers various scholarship opportunities for international students based on merit. I find the University, course fulfilling.
Likes (Safety): It is safe to be in and around the university at any time of the day. There are bus services throughout the night available for students who study late at night in the university library. I have not had any bad experiences in the city so far.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Public transport is not always reliable, but the frequency is good. You have various buses going to and fro from the Singleton campus to the Bay campus. The prices are confirmed to be increased from next month, which is a big setback for students.

Fantastic experience. And it's worth to study in Swansea University
Tips: There is quite a change which is good. Studies are more oriented in practical form and a cultural shift is definitely there. Coming from North Indian spending a-lot of time with south Indian and multi-culture communities from all around the world was quite good, knowing their culture and accommodating with open-minded people, was one of the best experiences I've seen and felt in a while. Scholarships are available for Swansea University to attain a 4000 scholarship by doing proper research. My satisfaction level from the university is 90/100, from the course 100/100, and from the country, it completely depends on how you handle situations, for me it is 100/100.
Likes (Safety): People, staff, teachers are quite helpful, they have a quite good hold on the mental health of the students, as well as teachers keep their students quite comfortable and are always at ease to help. Security is quite good. They also have regular security checks on people in the day and night as well, running throughout the campus. I have stayed at university late night till 3 am also and did not feel unsafe at all.
Dislikes (Internships): Internship facilities are not exclusively available through the campus, we need to search on website manually from time to time. No other facility are provided by the campus on their own in the form of emails or any particular dedicated job web page on the university web page. That was a little off-set part. But teaching methods and examination are kept quite good in control to develop skills through-out the year.

Great university to do Masters in.
Tips: The difficult level is not easy, you have to put great effort into the assignments and subjects to get good grades. They have scholarships. The course itself is satisfying. The place is lush with greenery and has a private beach just next to the campus.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members are really helpful and informative. They teach very well and support us with our queries in the support sessions conducted every week. They guide us in our projects and assignments. The facilities are also par. You have a fully equipped 24/7 library.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): For permanent immigration, you will have a get a sponsored job soon. Most companies do not offer sponsored jobs. Even after getting a sponsored job, we would have to work for another 5 years to get PR. Given a chance, I would like to permanently immigrate to this country. The country offers good value for the work we do.

Swansea University is a good college.
Tips: Be prepared to have a cultural shock and for cold and the weather. Be polite and kind with greeting people. There is a completely different studying pattern here than what we have in India. University culture is a bit different and many events take place all the time.
Likes (Safety): The city is quite safe and friendly. The people are kind and welcoming. The place is absolutely safe even at night times. There are people to help always if you ever need help. The people are very accommodating to you. It feels like home in a few months and a lovely place to live in.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): It's hard to find sponsored jobs with post-study visa. Most of the companies are not willing to hire based on PSW. So if you want sponsored jobs, it is hard to find jobs that you like. But people get jobs with just PSW too but no sponsorship. So in the end it depends on what type of job you want.

BSc (Hons) Accounting - Batch of 2022

Swansea is good for accounting and B-courses.
Tips: I can't say there is a lot of cultural shift as it varies from person to person for me it wasn't that much issue as like a student I like doing things all by myself or balancing life between academics and part-time. Make sure to prepare yourself for all these challenges rest everything else will be good. I came here only for accounting to do it with ACCA and the course was good. There's a lot of learning even from your batchmates. I got a scholarship of 4000 pounds and I was satisfied with it. Make sure you research well before taking any course.
Dislikes (Student Life): A typical day in Swansea as a student is not very hectic the classes are flexible unlike in India. Students do get time in between the classes as there are good breaks. There are many events organised by the college like outdoor cinemas every once in a while. Students can find out about the events on the event page and emails are also sent about the same. Sports are good, the college supports Swansea FC football club which is currently playing in the Championship league of English football. There are student clubs which are either diverse or are focused on one ethnic group suppose there are Indian community groups or there can be a drama club which is typically diverse. Also, there are reading groups where I used to indulge more with and it is a great experience to make new friends and meet new people.

BSc (Hons) Economics - Batch of 2021

Safe place to stay, good for higher education.
Tips: No matter from what part of India you are the transition is bound to take place. Make sure you interact with other fellow students and it will be better if you can develop some relations with the facilities team too. The entire team is forthcoming and helpful. I personally haven't availed of any scholarship but many Indian students are on some kind of fee waivers, so get some knowledge about them. The course is Industry-oriented and is very precise. The professors have International publications in top economic and business journals. This place is good, the environment is pretty clean, you can chill and relax, the people are generous. What else does one want in a foreign land.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Overall the faculty is experienced and helpful but sometimes you can also encounter an eccentric professor. Make sure to submit your assignments timely so as to not create any kind of difference with the tutors. Listen to what they have to say and then question them rather than trying to outsmart them which will create the problems only.
Dislikes (Internships): Good internships are available but make sure that they are to be applied on time otherwise, there won't be many options. The college also guides when it comes to the internship part however many students look out for them on LinkedIn so make sure that the profile is updated timely. For economics, there are many internships available but you'll be required to showcase your skills, particularly the number game. Think accordingly.

Good facilities and helpful staff in Swansea
Tips: If you love nature, hospitality and diversity come to this university. Everyone here is helpful and supportive. From library facilities to the careers department everyone helps out with any query or issue faced. Student support and MyUnihub services are above par. There are also many student bodies that are working up to the mark however with some more funding to these bodies, they will do better. The faculty is also very knowledgeable and helpful and the college assists you with getting internships which is a key factor in getting a job in the UK. This is a good university for International students
Tips: I got the international excellence scholarship of 4000 pounds and students who are meritorious can get that too. There are many scholarships that the students can get information about from the official website at the time they apply. Every year when the application starts you should fill out the forms if you are applicable. Some of the professors are very nice to you and will help and guide you throughout your course. Try that you get in touch with any student from this college to know more about accommodation and expenses especially if you are coming here for undergrad.
Likes (Safety): Good environment, good and helpful people and no worry about security on the campus. People sometimes say that they have faced a bit due to their colour, actually it is not racism but just a bit of bias, however, I have not seen anything like that. There are many students from Africa and India too and everything seems alright to me.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian Food is very expensive and does not have good taste. When I was studying I used to cook with my friend. It was fun to do that and wasn't very expensive. Even foods from the West will cost you a lot as compared to what their price was back in India. As a student, it is good to eat by making your own food.

Good infrastructure and location
Tips: I attended Swansea University to study Aerospace Engineering and I found that the student life was alright. As it was quite difficult to find a good housing facility within budget as there are very few off-campus housing options. For me, the quality and way of teaching of the lecturers was not what I expected. Apart from this, the university offers good infrastructural facilities. The university has thriving student communities, with a range of clubs and societies for students to get involved in. The location of the university is quite soothing and peaceful.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The quality and the way of teaching of the lecturers was not up to the mark. There was a huge language barrier. The faculty of Swansea University expect you to come prepared. The faculty members do not go much into the technical aspects of the subject as much as other universities.

It is good to build the connections in Swansea.
Tips: I believe that every international student somehow someway transitions after coming here. There are many good clubs, restaurants and beautiful places around the university. I have not received any scholarship. The course was very practical and taught me many things that are still helping me. I am still in touch with my professors and I will recommend you to do the same as well because this will help you as faculty has connections with other students too which might help you with getting a job in UK.
Dislikes (Part time work): There is an employment zone in Swansea which can help with getting a job or if there is any idea about a startup. Otherwise, there are many off-campus jobs students take up here. I was working at MacDonalds during my first year and I quite enjoyed it. It is very manageable, work permit being 20 hours/week. At Mac-D I used to get 10 GBP/hour.

Helpful faculty and good college for research
Tips: Make up your mind before coming here. Transition is not that much easy as it would seem as a student you will have to take care of yourself here be it cooking, cleaning or even interacting with people here a transition is everywhere so be sure of that. I received a thrive bursary scholarship of 4000 pounds. There are many student societies here also there is a Hindu society and so much to do after classes too.
Likes (Quality of faculty): It is very easy to reach out to the faculty here. You as a student can just drop them an email and they will respond to every query or doubt you are having. Even during COVID, my professors were very responsive on top of that they are very experienced almost all of them have publications across various international journals.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There is employability academy here where students can get help finding jobs and there are also counsellors who assist you. But if I talk about placements then there is not much help provided by the university. There is not much to placements but the research opportunities here are good. If you are keen on doing that after your Masters then yes definitely this is the right university for you.

Your transition will be slow but it will be smooth
Tips: The professors here are very experienced, they are very caring and helpful. I felt there was an abrupt cultural shift even Indian students who have been here for quite a time had felt out of place. When I came to this university I felt a bit alienated at first but slowly I understood and paced up and the transition was slow but I would say it was hassle free. Being an International student here you'll have to adapt to the weather as it is very cold during winters and if you are from India this is something to keep in mind. Student clubs are functioning up to the mark and the Alumni association is also good you will receive constant follow-ups from them after you have graduated.

Good facilities for both academic and non-academic, helping students get maximum out of college.
Tips: Swansea university has amazing faculty, student body, and resources to help students. Study space, halls etc are available. Student life is amazing with loads of different kinds of places to hang out at are present. The residential facilities at the university are amazing. Course structures are designed to benefit the students at maximum possible level.
Likes (Student Life): Swansea is majorly a student town and there are many places where you can grab student discounts. It's safe and night life is quite good too. Student accommodations are great and secure. You have 24/7 library with separate space for Masters/PhD etc. Students also get dedicated silent space in the library.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There aren't many PR options in the UK. You need to land a job and work for 5/6 years before you can get one. PSW doesn't count towards those years. And it's a bit hard to get a job with sponsorship. Given current market situation the increased competition has gone even a bit harder.

It is good but very stressful
Tips: There is a cultural shift here but it is good to know a new culture. I can say I am not disappointed, I got a scholarship of 3000 pounds from the university because I am from India. Here, the first thing I can say is to learn to cook very well because the outside restaurant food is not tasty.
Likes (Safety): People in swansea are good and we have police in every crowded area. Compared to other cities around here this place is slightly cheaper and safer as it is a tourist spot so we have lot of places to explore and they are safe also. We even have choppers at beach in the night patrolling sometimes.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not many part time jobs are available. When it comes to sponsorship there are not many we can find here. Part-time is a struggle. Faculty is top-notch.
Tips: I was impressed by the university's buildings and the teaching methods. It's very different from back home it's almost like entering a whole new world. The methods and principles and the attitude of the faculty all is different. I liked this transition as I'm getting to learn why this and why that.
Likes (Safety): The safety is top-rated. The fire systems, the state of the art laboratories all are well-built in order to keep a high priority on safety. There were instances when the university had everyone exit the building due to small smoke detected. This shows how fast the safety systems work.
Dislikes (Part time work): The part-time available here is very low. Even several last-intake students weren't able to find one until now. The reason might be many students but fewer opportunities. All employers prefer people ready\dy to do full-time work. And this is covered by dependent visa category.

My university is great in terms of events, education and social work.
Tips: Students should know about which courses they have opted. And should research if the course is relevant to Swansea University. A lot of presentations take place which can become a bit tiresome but the methodology of teaching has been valuable for me. There you will get support in terms of everything whether education or extracurricular. Even sports activities are great to be a part of. Don't miss out on anything. There is a lot you can do.

Good academic environment.
Tips: I have learnt how to step out of my comfort zone and make the most of it. There weren't many cultural shocks other than the cost of some things, which are way more here and are considered essential back home, and the accents can be hard to follow at times. Otherwise, people are friendly and professors are very passionate about their lessons. Group projects are something you'll need to get used to if you're not already. Good environment.

Great for academics/short-term living. Tough for permanent settlement at the moment.
Tips: The University of Bristol is absolutely brilliant academically. The lectures are fantastic, the seminars are even better, and the faculty is top-notch. It has superb extracurricular activities and a vibrant student community. My transition has been smooth and permanently transformative. I’ve experienced a huge cultural and perception shift. The way people here lead a no-nonsense, multidimensional life, balancing out fun and studies, is something to learn from. I did not receive a scholarship from the university. Overall, I've had a good experience, but the course is not as good from an employment perspective. It’s also very difficult for international students to find work, and it can be tough to get the visa you need, which is a shame. The UK is a great country with a great work culture and amazing people, but the system is brutal and not designed to help international students, which makes getting a job extremely tough.
Likes (Indian Food): We've all kinds of Indian restaurants here, catering to South and North Indians alike. There is Urban Tandoor with around 15-20 per person on average, Dhamaka 13-15/person, Devs Kerala 8-10/person, Crispy Dosa around 15/person, Pappu Dosa 10/person, The Indian Lunchbox 7-8/person etc. I preferred a balance between eating outside and cooking at home initially, but things got hectic on my end, so I relied a lot on eating outside later.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): When I arrived, the chances of a permanent settlement were decent, but things have deteriorated significantly over the past two years, with further decline expected. So I'd rate the chances of permanent settlement in the UK poor right now, with it getting worse by the year. I'd definitely love to, and I'm currently trying to get in there permanently. I built my life there for over 3.5 years, but I had to come back home. However, it's tough right now to secure a visa-sponsored job due to the erratic nature of roles and hostile rhetoric against legal immigration.

A supportive and globally, engaging experience at Bristol.
Tips: Before joining the University of Bristol, students should be prepared for a culturally diverse and academically rigorous environment. The transition here involves adapting to an independent learning style and managing life away from home, which initially felt overwhelming. However, the support system, ranging from Academy advice to mental health services, helped me settle in. I haven't received any scholarships, but my friends have received a TB scholarship, which is incredibly tough to get. Only a handful of students receive the scholarship every year, and I know a few students who have also received a Shaven scholarship. Because I didn't receive any scholarships, I spent all the money from my education loan, which was a pretty high amount. Overall, I'm satisfied with my university, my course, and the country, but the cost of tuition is very high. I would only recommend applying to people with relevant experience related to the Master's coursework and who are willing to spend a huge amount of money as an investment toward their education.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Quality of faculty is great. The professors are not only highly knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in students. They are very approachable, whether during scheduled office hours or via email. They are always open to questions and discussions beyond lectures. The teaching methodology combines strong practical exposure along with theory, especially through research-led assignments, lab-based sessions, and industry-relevant case studies.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The options for affordable and tasty Indian food are quite less around the university. Some dishes feel adapted to local taste, and it's hard to find regional specialities. I prefer cooking at home, usually. The cost of Indian groceries is quite affordable, but travelling to Indian stores can't be done every time because it's a bit far from the accommodation and requires spending money on bus or taxi fare. Most of the Indian groceries are available in local stores like Sainsbury's, Lidl, and Tesco, so it's better to cook individually than to eat out at restaurants.

University of Bristol has a state of the art facilities but is expensive for abroad students.
Tips: Most of my learning came from outside the university rather than inside. Living in Bristol is one such experience one must have during their youth. Bristol offers good academics, a vibrant lifestyle and a community. The city is very diverse and friendly. The nightlife is amazing. It is a party hub of the UK, and the food is equally good. The countryside is scenic, it gets lovely and green in summer.

A fulfilling global journey.
Tips: Students should be ready for independent learning and diverse cultures. The transition was smooth, but there was a cultural shift in both academics and social life. I didn't avail any scholarships.
Likes (Safety): The campus feels secure with 24/7 security and CCTV. The university also offers night-time transport and well-being support. The city is generally safe, though, like any urban area, it's wise to stay alert, especially at night. But the area near the campus is especially safe.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is knowledgeable and approachable, often available outside class and responsive to queries. Teaching is hands on and project-based making learning practical and engaging. The team is internationally diverse, bringing varied perspectives.

There are a variety of jobs available for part-time.
Tips: Before coming here, you should develop the ability to handle things well and stick to your schedule. Part-time jobs are tough, and there will be plenty of rejections. If you manage your time properly, then the average pay of 12 pounds is very manageable. There are a variety of jobs available as part-time work. Life at the University of Bristol: Balancing Studies and Campus Life
Tips: My transition has been quite smooth. I did not find too much different from my usual way of living in India. Privacy and politeness are a lot more prevalent in the UK as a whole. I applied to the Think Big Scholarship but was unable to get it. Bristol is the hill, so walks feel like long hikes here, which is quite an enjoyable workout. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my university.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fees do seem a little on the higher side, but the amenities offered by the University of Bristol are top-notch. So, I feel that it is worth the money. The student societies and unions conduct events almost every day, you can join any sports club you want, you can join their gym, swim and so much more along with studies. Their lecture halls are great, faculty is very experienced with excellent diversity in the student population.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a lot of Indian restaurants with student offers, but the prices are a little too high. For a meal for 1, you generally need to pay at least 20 Pounds. There are a bunch of pubs where you get meal deals for under 10 Pounds, and somewhere you also get free refills of tea and coffee, like Wetherspoons. I prefer to cook myself and eat outside once in a while with friends.

Decent education with a hefty price
Tips: There is a cultural shift while moving to a new country as always. Things are done differently compared to back home. Trying to be part of their community help in getting accustomed to the people. No scholarships are provided. University is good overall. Course is good as well. You have the freedom to how deep you want to go in a particular module. Lecturers are smart however they lack lecturing skills. Lecturers who have native language English are good at it.
Likes (Part time work): Both on-campus and off-campus opportunities are good. If your proactive and committed in looking at jobs everywhere you will always find one. University has a lot of jobs on its portals on a daily basis and they pay well. You just need to keep looking till you find one. The basic salary is 10.42.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent settlement chances are limited. You have to be proactive and committed in this process or you won't be able to find one. Recently country policies have been against excessive immigration so thinking it will be easy here will be a bit delusional. Given a chance yes I will immigrate to this country.

Tips: Bristol is an easy-going laidback fun city that makes you forget you're far from home. Therefore, if you want to study data Science or AI in greater depth there are better universities with better course descriptions, but if you want to transition from a different field to data Science this course will be useful.

Food options are not good. Job options are hard to find.
Tips: It would help if you searched about the job opportunities available in the country before joining the course. Because most students are facing difficulty in getting a decent job after graduation. Also, research about the accommodation options is beneficial, it is better to take university accommodation.
Likes (Part time work): The part-time job opportunities available at the university are very limited. However, it isn't that hard to find a part-time job outside the university. There are so many stores and restaurants that are there to employ students on a part-time basis.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Although there are a lot of Indian restaurants in the city, a good authentic one is missing. Especially for South Indians, there is hardly any option available. Having food outside is costly as well. We have to cook for yourself for most of the time.

I experienced best college life
Tips: Students coming here would have to balance work and studies. This is going to be the most socially active experience ever. There are plenty of scholarship opportunities as well, varying from region to region. The cultural understanding is fabulous there.
Likes (Internships): They're fully driven towards internships, from the very start of the academic year. They give us internships varying in different eras of management. Not only does it provide really good internships in HR but various other domains of management which as a whole improves overall knowledge.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Since I myself would like to move back to India so haven't explored much about settlement options. But as far as I know, immigration process is good. UK provides various good options for settlement/immigration. So students can choose.

UoB is really great to study because of its faculty and their overall world ranking
Tips: They should definitely check if the city is safe to live in and how many part-time job opportunities it has. They should also see what is in the curriculum and study a bit before coming here if in case it is needed. Focus on getting an internship as it will help you in getting a job later. Students should feel confident before coming because the university has many things to offer that will help us in future.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is really amazing as the university arranges many events for students to get used to the environment and get comfortable. They arrange events in which you can get to know students from different countries and courses and it really helps us build connections.
Dislikes (Internships): It is very different for Masters students to get any internships as our course is only for 1 year. Students should focus on getting a part-time job first as it is comparatively very easy to get one. Getting an internship in the interested field is difficult in my opinion.

Strong academics and good for students who want to pursue PHD.
Tips: University of Bristol is a good choice to go to, but I wish they would upgrade their course and make it longer. I feel like I need relevant skills when I get there, but the university's brand name isn't that great. Also, I wish there were more networking events specific to Data Science and now AI.
Likes (Public transportation): As the campus is centrally located, it makes transportation easy, however, it is not cheap to live in the centre. Public transport is only cheap until you’re a student. Monthly passes should be made cheaper than the current rate. The only easily available mode of transportation is buses.
Dislikes (Internships): There should be separate portals for part time jobs as only basic career services are available at present. The university should also collaborate with FAANG companies. CV review doesn't work; internships are available but hard to get, so it's worth hosting networking events, too.

There are numerous clubs and activities held on-campus.
Tips: Not much changes in how you live, you go to college, do your work, eat, and work. But, yes, there are cultural changes, climate, and other changes that affect your mental health. You have 20 hours of classes every week, and the rest of the time, you're on your own. This gives you time to study and improve yourself. There are lots of events going on at the university, such as freshers. You can find clubs for practically every study and every sport or game you play, like football. I'm pretty satisfied with my course, the M.Sc. in Fintech with Data Science, the university, and the country.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food at restaurants here is expensive for a single meal, and I don’t think it’s worth the price. It’s also slightly overpriced, in my opinion. If you can cook, it’s much better to cook your own food rather than eating out. That way, you’ll save both money and improve your health.

The University of Bristol has limited internship options.
Tips: You should apply for the scholarship in advance. If you don't face challenges in acclimatization, you are lucky. The fact is that the lecturer's support is minimal and the rest is up to the learners. Bristol is a peaceful city. Areas like Easton can be a bit shady, so I would suggest you avoid taking accommodations private even if they are cheaper in Easton. Apply in advance to get cheaper accommodations with all amenities. Don't rely on third-party apps, they often provide expensive options. Surf through the University website, they have a list of apps and platforms related to accommodations.
Dislikes (Internships): The University of Bristol has limited internship options. The firsthand experience in the education sector needs to be sought individually by the candidates. Fortunately, Bristol has several agencies that can help you find a part-time job, which can also be very helpful in the education field. If you are planning to pursue a career in education, there is support available. Career services can help you to restructure your resume and network.
