Great opportunities at TUM
Tips: The studies at TUM are quite rigorous, and one must rely heavily on self-study. There are many student clubs one can join for extracurricular activities. It is common to take one or two semesters longer to finish studies. There is no on-campus housing, and finding accommodation in Munich is not easy. So students must search for accommodation well in advance (at least 2 months before arriving).

Technical University of Munich and the City Experience
Tips: The student must be prepared to be self-reliant and responsible, as they play an active role in restructuring the course and such as at other universities, and be ready to work hard. Work-study culture is also very big and also helps build a CV during your study period as well. So always actively looking for career-oriented development is a plus too.
Likes (Post study jobs): There are so many companies in the city that are in close ties with the university, and that helps with the post-study job search. A solid number of multinational firms and growing startups provide work visa sponsorship (I think) for international graduates. Roles range widely from software development and business analyst to marketing specialists. Generally offering competitive entry-level packages.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are not so many good Indian restaurants, in my opinion. Knowing a good Indian restaurant to go to is such valuable information to have. And South Indian options are very few as well. And going out to eat Indian food can sometimes get a bit expensive too.

Excellent University with world class amenities.
Tips: The first 6 months for me were challenging because you're in a new country with a basic language level, and you don't know the whereabouts of anything, but with time everything becomes easy, and you're no longer a noob. No scholarships for me, as the tuition was basically 102u20ac per semester. Very satisfied, but you have to give your 100%. I know some brilliant guys, but they were just lazy, so it resulted in their exmatriculation.
Likes (Post study jobs): There are a lot of companies which offer sponser visas to the students depending on their skills and experience. Sponsor visas are not seldom but hard to find. Most abundant job roles are available in IT as Deutschland is going through their Digitalisierung phase. Jobs are readily available for anyone with the right expertise.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Since I am Indian, the Indian restaurants were not like India at all. You could say they are just a makeshift version of Indian restaurants with artificial flavour. Don't trust anyone who says otherwise. I often cook myself at home. The reason is that I can't find the flavour in the Indian restaurants nearby, although it's not bad.

Really good public university
Tips: It is better to have knowledge of the German language. There are English courses offered as well. But for post-graduation, German is important. No scholarships are available as such since the tuition fee is free in public universities. But one can look for a scholarship with DAAD.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Really good faculty and helpful. Professors and other PhD students are readily available for help, and there are other student organizations to help as well. For my master's, studies were more practical than conventional book knowledge. There are also various electives to choose from.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): German plays a very important role in getting a full-time job. The company does not provide a visa. The person should take care of it. The salary is an important part to get visa, for example 48000 euro per year gets you the Blue Card.

excellent education and international student experience at tum.
Tips: Students should carefully check the admission and scholarship deadlines in advance, as they can be different and require separate applications. Moving to Germany was a smooth but initially challenging cultural transition, and TUM provides a diverse international environment. Learn about the sports clubs and student clubs, which will help a lot in personal and professional life. Study and enjoy your life.
Likes (Post study jobs): TUM offers a vibrant and international campus experience. I spend my time attending lectures, working on projects and research, interacting with students, and participating in some sports activities with ZHS. TUM regularly organizes cultural, technical, and social events by student organizations/clubs. It has very good student clubs where many projects are developed, it's a great place to learn with interdisciplinary groups.
Dislikes (Part time work): Because the professors and academic staff are highly knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive. They are accessible for discussions and provide praticak research oriented teaching. The faculty is also internationally diverse, they are always ready to help with personal doubts and personal projects as well.

Master of Science in Power Engineering (MSPE) - Batch of 2026
4.4
Challenging Transition, but a rewarding experience
Tips: Students should be prepared for a significant cultural and academic transition, especially if they are coming from outside Germany. In my experience, the change was quite noticeable because life here is very structured and organized. At times, particularly with the uncertain economic situation and the 6000 euro tuition fee, I did question whether coming to Germany was the right decision. I was fortunate to receive a tuition fee waiver for my final two semesters. Academically, I am very satisfied with the power engineering program. It is challenging, but the course content genuinely reflects what the name suggests and provides a strong focus on power and energy engineering.
Likes (Part time work): On campus, part-time jobs are limited, but still there any a handful of openings. The best part is the location. Munich and in and around the neighboring districts, there are a lot of industries and also part-time openings as well. Most of the students tend to get a permanent job in the same place where they did their part-time/werkstudent jobs (if you perform well). Since Munich is a big city, you can always rely on odd jobs. Managing both work and studies is a bit hard. Especially the course - I find it extremely hard. So you need to invest more time in your studies. SO there is a trade-off between the hours to work average payout if the work is an odd job: 14 euros per hour. An internship or a working student will get you somewhere between 18 and 22.
Dislikes (Value for money): International students have fees of 6000. Unless you are extremely talented and your profile aligns with power engineering, along with a strong academic interest in pursuing power engineering (it's a vast area but still a niche). But the course is intense.

Master of Science in Microelectronics and Chip Design - Batch of 2027
4.1
Pursuing a Master's in Microelectronics and Chip Design at TU MUNICH
Tips: Finding permanent accommodation can be tough around here in Munich. People are polite, but interacting into the community takes a semester or two. The course and the university feel great overall. Germany is quite different from India and takes time to settle in and get used to.
Likes (Indian Food): The number of Indian, Asian, and Italian restaurants are plenty in all of Munich, and they cost 5 to 20 Euros each. Should you enjoy dining out as opposed to cooking, then the cost will be between 8 and 20 or 30 Euros depending on the type of food. You will also find some Asian, Indian, and African shops; you do not have to pack dry masalas and culinary spices since you will find most of them here.
Dislikes (Value for money): Yes, I think a university chip tape-out opportunity is rare, and pursuing advanced subjects with industry experts is also a strong value-add. The material updates every year, so you're almost always learning the latest technology.

Things to know before joining TUM
Tips: Yes. There wasn't much of a cultural shock for me. The people were friendly. Yes, I applied for a scholarship where I do not have to pay fees. I am so satisfied because it is one of the top universities in Germany, and it has a very good reputation.
Likes (Internships): There are a lot of internships relevant to study. You can meet the respected professors and just email them. If they are free, they are ready to supervise you. Make sure you apply for internships that you like, and please apply carefully because it has a major impact on whatever job you do.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I am living on a different campus than in Munich. So there is only one restaurant here. But there are a lot of options in Munich. I prefer cooking myself. It kind of saves money. Groceries are expensive, and eating out as well. I do enjoy exploring asian cuisines as well.

TUM: An amazing university that offers great learning experience.
Tips: Learn at least B1 level of German, even though your course is in English - Scholarship opportunities are mostly limited to students with some German skills, but there are a few that don't require German skills. Do good research in this area. - I really enjoyed being at TUM. It has an amazing culture and research environment. If given a chance, I'll do it all over again.
Likes (Internships): There are a lot of internship-related opportunities in and out of TUM. CSE doesn't have a mandatory internship, but if somebody wants to do one, they get sufficient support from the course coordinators. Focus on building a strong network with PhDs and professionals to get good internship opportunities.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): You don't need sponsorship to work in Germany. However, the rank of a university doesn't have a lot of impact on job applications. Apart from TUM Career-related initiatives and some job fairs, students don't get any direct support in their job search.

A short overview of life at TUM
Tips: They should know that TUM has its own standards and that it is going to be hard, so be ready when your first-semester grades are a disaster. I did not apply for the Deutschlandstipendium as I got a working student job in my first semester, but my friends got it, and I would highly recommend it. I am very satisfied, and I would absolutely recommend that students consider TUM as an option.
Likes (Student Life): Go to university, meet my friends, then have lunch at Mensa, and then we all sit down and have coffee. During exam season, we have group-based study sessions that help us work together more effectively. I founded the Cybersecurity club at a different branch of TUM, so I was involved there. Also, the student council keeps organizing multiple events, which makes it easier.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Deutsche Bahn is always late due to worker strikes and weather-related disruptions. So, it cannot be trusted, but still, because of the Deutschland Ticket, it is good. Also, with that ticket, you can travel within or near the borders of different countries. Right now, I pay 43 euros because it is a student fare, and I use public transport daily.

TUM: offers top notch education and opportunities but you need to know how to grab them
Tips: You need to be proactive and make efforts to learn the course content and also make connections to land an internship and a future job. The transition to the culture, location, and systems was tough but still manageable. Much more self-study and practice is required to pass courses, as the grade depends completely on the final exam in most courses. The fees for my course were only 150u20ac per semester, but current students need to pay 6000u20ac. I am extremely satisfied with my university and the career opportunities it gave me, as well as Germany in general.

Academic experience in German public university
Tips: Overall, a good academic experience, but students should be prepared about the cultural difference and language barriers. Managing their finance independent and studying is also important. I didn't apply for any scholarships. I am really satisfied with my course and university life.
Likes (Internships): The university is providing internships for students. Students can also apply for internships at companies that match their academic background. Sometimes there are obligations, such as voluntary internships that should be completed within 2 or 3 semesters.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Finding a suitable job after studies is very challenging. You need to find a job that matches your qualifications to get a visa after your studies. Also, the permanent residence process can be lengthy and involves several requirements like language, a job contact, etc. Yes, I would like to immigrate permanently to Germany if given the opportunity.

A lot of opportunities so the competition.
Tips: You have to be flexible to align with a new culture, and balancing your academics and part-time job is not easy. Nowadays, finding part times are also getting difficult, but with a consistent mindset, you can earn one. Indeed, Xing and similar websites/apps can be very helpful in finding jobs.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are highly educated and talented and would help us with everything. They share their intellectual property and ideas with us and treat us without any discrimination. Quality faculty can help us academically, but getting a job after the course, they can’t do anything.
Dislikes (Internships): There are a lot of internship opportunities, but getting one is highly competitive, and you have to apply for a lot to get into one. Nowadays, the competition is among Indian students because we have a minimum of bachelor's degrees, English knowledge, and a good IT background, which makes us a good choice for companies, but there are a lot!!

MSc in Environmental Engineering - Batch of 2026

Research oriented output driven
Tips: The exam pattern and way of teaching are different from those in India. More practical way of learning. I got the Deutschlandstipendium for 2 years. The criteria to get this scholarship are marks plus social commitment (highly competetive in TUM). I am happy with the course, university and country.
Likes (Safety): I am not aware of the facilities provided to ensure students' safety, but there will be many, for sure. I never felt unsafe here. I have only had good experiences in Munich city so far. There were days when I used to reach my room after 3 am, but I never felt unsafe. Public transportation is also reliable and safe even during odd hours.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are available but highly competitive and pay less. More money can be earned by doing off-campus jobs, which are easy to find. Managing part-time work along with studies and other household chores is difficult, but doable. 13 euros per hour is the average, I think.

Academically challenging but rewarding
Tips: Learn the language and take the effort to integrate, overall, a great experience academically and otherwise. If you are from a place where there is cultural discrimination against women or others, leave it at home before you come out, its honesty pretty gross.
Likes (Post study jobs): Lots of chances in Munich to do internships, and then you can try whatever you want and then at the end, choose, there are a tonne of huge companies in the city and in the surrounding region. This gives you the chance to actually compete for a lot of positions.
Dislikes (Student Life): Student life is pretty much non-existent, but outside of campus you can have a good time. There are a lot of student clubs that you can join, and that's honestly pretty nice, but normally at university you won't have the classic Indian hostel experience.

What should people know if you want to join TUM
Tips: It's academically demanding, even for management and technology students. I have lived here for around 11 years now, so I never had a culture shift. There are scholarships for high-performing students, like the Deutschlandstipendium, etc. The university is good; it opens a lot of opportunities and is very reputed everywhere. However, they have introduced international tuition fees, so if anyone is interested in joining, they must really think about it.
Likes (Public transportation): TUM is in central Munich with many different public transport options, including buses, underground trains, and trams. You have the Deutschlandticket, which you can use for public regional transportation all over Germany for around 40 euros a month.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It's hard to grow in this country starting as a junior employee if you don't speak German and are not German. I have heard from many people that the office politics is hard to navigate. I myself are planning on moving out for a master's or for employment in the future. Its great to study here since the education is almost free, many part time employment options, and can find working student positions or internships to kick start the career.

Studying, having fun, struggles and personal growth at TU Munich
Tips: If you are coming to Germany, please have in mind that you will need to learn German. It is not just important for jobs, but also to feel more integrated and less out of place. This is the most important thing, and you should treat learning German as being as important as your course itself. I worked as a student assistant with a professor on a project, and such jobs are common. You can also get student jobs in corporations or work in bartending and restaurants to get by. However, you should try to get a student job or internship in companies where you want to work, as there are greater chances of covering that to a full-time role after graduation. I am overall pretty satisfied with the university and my course as well as with Germany. It is challenging in the beginning with the language, foreigners' office bureaucracy, and housing headaches, but if one sees that through and focuses on learning the language. Life gets easier. Plus, working conditions post-graduation are good, and you can become a permanent resident relatively soon if you know B1 German and have a Blue Card for employment for 2 years.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty in my course were top-notch. They generally teach what they are searching/have researched, and so have a good command of their material. The teaching style here is generally quite interactive, with classroom discussions being common, and you can approach faculty in our department for questions, generally without hesitation. They are also relatively diverse, we had instructors from Lebanon, South Korea, India, the USA, and all over Europe.
Dislikes (Student Life): TUM is a very decentralised university, so studies are broadly student-driven and people try to balance part-time work and studies. Also, there is no campus to speak of, the university is basically multiple building blocks spread over a few streets. So basically, socialisation is limited in Universities. Where most of the socialisation happens is actually the student dormitories, which are spread all over Munich, where you live with people from all over the world and have a lot of fun parties. But getting a room there generally requires a waiting period of about a year. Thus, students generally struggle to find accommodation in the first year when they are most unaware of the systems, language and culture in Germany. This housing situation is the most challenging part of studying at TUM, and one needs to put in extra effort soon after you decide to come here to secure accommodation for at least a year, while applying to be on the list for student dorms.

Good Education, Tough Job Market.
Tips: The transition was difficult at first. Adapting to an independent lifestyle, a new academic system, and a language took time. Finding accommodation was the biggest challenge, but I was glad to get a dorm later. I did not avail of any scholarship. I'm quite satisfied with my university, course, and country. TUM offers good academic exposure, and Germany provides good opportunities if you have strong German language skills and relevant experience. The job market is currently challenging, though.
Likes (Value for money): Value for money still gets a full 5/5 from me, even with Munich’s notoriously high rent and TUM’s non-EU tuition fees. You're paying more than at other German universities, but the return on investment is massive. The network here is unreal—direct links to giants like BMW, Siemens, and tech startups mean you get top-tier working student (Werkstudent) roles while studying. Combined with world-class campus facilities and instant global brand recognition on your resume, every euro spent feels justified.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Getting a job (including Werkstudent) mostly depends on your German language skills; B2 is the minimum for my field. University reputation does not guarantee a job. There is also no direct campus placement system like in India, so students need to apply independent. Having relevant work experience can help a bit.

University coursework is brutal and intense but you had very wide opportunities and reputation
Tips:
Courses are very intense and often theoretical, so finishing the degree in the stipulated time is hard. Still, the quality of the university and its institutions is world class. Students should expect a demanding workload but a rewarding academic experience.
Likes (Public transportation): Well connected across the city, with easy access via the semester ticket. Buses run frequently between the campus, city centre and student areas, and the ticket also covers regional trains across the state, so it is very affordable and convenient for daily commuting and travel.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are options, but most restaurants have adapted to local cuisine and lack the authentic Indian taste or spice. Eating out typically costs 10 to 15 euros per meal, while the university Mensa is cheaper. I mostly prefer cooking myself with Indian groceries from Asian stores.

Tips: The course is not free, a separate fee needs to be paid for admission. The average completion time of the course is 3-3.5 years. That excludes any rigorous German language study. Knowledge of the German language is essential to get post-study employment.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market is generally down in the tech sector. Over the past 5 years, the market has become highly competitive, and even talented individuals struggle to secure a job. It depends on the city where you study, which determines the density of companies offering roles in your field.

Amazing, Career Oriented, Professional Growth.
Tips: For most of the English-speaking courses, there is a tuition fee. So do not expect to be like a Free Tuition. Learn German to get easy access to the job market (at least B1 level). Scholarships are available for females. I would rate the overall experience very good.
Likes (Public transportation): Semester Tickets are issues by University which lets you access all kind of Public Transport like Buses, Trams, Local Trains etc. The German planning is well known, and hence transportation is very good here. Train delays though most of the time. But transport in cities is quite efficient.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Students can get in contact with faculty members to do their research work, and since RWTH Aachen is one of the TU9 universities, numerous applicants for Jobs have an advantage. However, it does not guarantee a Job but increases chances. Germany is a great place to live, one must appreciate the culture here. Learn German and you can be a permanent part of Germany.

Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is really good in Aachen city the transportation connects every campus building and about the ticket then students get semester ticket when they pay the semester feels so students can use the public transportation without spending.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Many Indian restaurants with the high prices and do not taste like home country but it's good not worth the price though So I cook myself mostly but many other restaurants with affordable food and good taste is also there including the university canteen.

Life at RWTH Aachen University
Tips: Students should be aware that they've to be independent as much as possible. There's no spoon feeding like India. Professors/ college do the basic/ primary work and mostly its the student who have to shape their path. They've to be very much responsible and accountable.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Mostly attending classes, part times. I enjoy the free time and going to mensa. Since RWTH is once of the biggest technical Universities, there's always something on the late. There are clubs varying from technical to cultural. Events are organized almost everyday. But one should not forget why he or she is here for.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The faculty is great. Professors are approachable anytime. The methodology is very different that from India. And the cohort is diverse which helps for individuals holistic growth. I personally love the facility the university has. The student just has to recognize the opportunities and should know that patience is the key.

RWTH Aachen- Computer science
Tips: Please learn German for integration and also to get better job opportunities. It also gives you more opportunities to join student clubs and socialize with others. Finding Werkstudent jobs and full-time jobs requires German up to a certain level and gives you more options.
Likes (Value for money): The method of teaching is through a practical course- mostly assignments. Practical problem-solving is emphasized; there are some open-book exams, so learn the concepts well. All faculty are European. Main interaction is with the Ph.D. students and sometimes with professors after the lecture period.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Since it is a small student city, not many Indian restaurants are available. However, there are 3 Indian grocery stores where you can buy almost all the things we get in India, including exotic Indian vegetables, packaged items, and spices. Some Indian restaurants are there, but not very authentic. So get ready to become a chef.

Great experience. Learned a lot.
Tips: I was an exchange student as a DAAD scholar. The city and college are both very friendly to international students. I had a DAAD scholarship and used to get a monthly allowance of 992 euro also, tuition fee are wavered. Also, we used to get house rent allowance and other benefits. I had a great experience there.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were very knowledgeable. And I learned a lot from them. They held seminars each week and were very helpful. The labs were great and had top research facilities. We also held monthly meetings to discuss what could be improved, and this approach helped us to learn a lot.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I stayed on research internships for 6 months. For this short period of stay, there aren't many options afterwards. Post-study jobs are available generally for who stayed for a longer duration and have German language skills more than B2/C1. I don't have much knowledge about post-study jobs.

Competitive yet reasonable
Tips: Do not come if you are not ready to put in the hard work. None of the professors will go easy on you. You have to earn every single mark. You will obviously experience a cultural shift that you are not ready for. The weather also takes a toll in the beginning.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors are some of the reputed individuals in their respective fields. They are as accessible as you would expect a university professor to be, but the assistants are even more accessible. They are available to answer your doubts and advise in office hours.
Dislikes (Part time work): The ratio of the no. Of available jobs to the no. Of students trying for them is very skewed. Since it is a student city (RWTH alone has more than 40k students enrolled - at least in my first semester), the competition is very high. You get paid the minimum wage according to regulations.

The ideal platform to upskill, learn and grow, provided you know the rules.
Tips: - Personally, for me, the transition was not that difficult since I grew up in an international environment. I guess for indian students, the greater deal is, will I find a community I can interact with and share common interests with? The answer is always a resounding yes. - Generally, in Germany, scholarships are not that easy to secure since the tuition feels is quite low. - Before joining a TU9 university, it's important to note that it's going to be highly research- and academically oriented, so be prepared to put in the hard miles. - I am satisfied since I found the right channel to develop my skills, the right jobs, and academic positions to pursue my interests further.
Likes (Safety): The city is pretty safe, apart from a few junkies on the street. - Knowing German helps you assimilate better and learn local culture, and that directly helps with safety. - I never felt unsafe during the wee hours of the day since everything was accessible and secure. - I just never had any bad experiences, but that's only a personal thing.
Dislikes (Internships): - The university has a career center that is always open to international students
- Finding internships and jobs is more dependent on your profile
- Networking with industry experts at career fair, or through the university alums, does land some positions
- right now, Germany isn't doing the best in terms of jobs especially for fields like software, IT, or core-engineering/natural sciences fields like Chemistry mechanical engineering etc. Yet, there is a rapid rise in computational-based roles.

Great acedemic growth and supportive faculty
Tips: Transitioning to life here was smooth overall, though adapting to the independent learning style and local culture took a bit of initial adjustment. Managing course workloads alongside daily living expenses requires good planning. Overall, I am very satisfied with the balance of academic quality, faculty support, and student life offered by the university.

Tips: Please learn German before you come, it helps you integrate with other students. When you want to socialise or participate in student clubs, for many activities. If you want to find Werkstudent jobs, German would be essential for that as well. Later, for finding a full-time job, you open up many opportunities if you have a good level of German.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The method of teaching is through practical coursework- mostly assignments, practical problem-solving, open book exam for some courses where understanding concepts matters more than memorising. All faculty are Europeans. You would be mainly interacting directly with the Ph.d. professors are accessible just after lectures.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Since it is a small student city, not many Indian restaurants are available. Settling in RWTH: what to know before joining
Tips: 1. Transition and cultural shift
Moving to Germany was a slight to medium cultural shift for me. The customs and the way people live are quite different from India, but it didn't take long to adjust. The biggest change was learning to be independent. Here you do everything yourself, from cooking and cleaning to grocery shopping and studying, and you pick up those habits fast. The environment is clean, the air is good, and Germany is a beautiful country. There are paint points too, mainly the winters, which can be brutal, and the weather, which is quite unpredictable. The exam format also took some getting used to. Back in India we had around two internal exams plus a final exam, but here it's usually one exam at the end, and that single result decides how you're judged. So it's worth planning your studies early and consistently rather than relying on internal assessment to build up your grade.
2. Scholarships
I received a language scholarship from the university for reaching the required score in my German language course. Apart from that I haven't personally received any other scholarship, but the university offers quite a few of them. The important thing to know is that you have to apply for them yourself, and only then will you be considered, so it's a good idea to look into the options early and keep an eye on the deadline.
3. Satisfaction
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the university, my course and the country. I'd recommend that future students come prepared for the independent lifestyle, the weather and the different exam system, because once you settled in, it's a great place to study and live. One important thing before coming to
Germany if you want to settled here even for a couple of years is to learn German as soon as possible, to make life in Germany more comfortable.
Likes (Value for money): The semester fee for the university is 320 u20ac, which also comes with a semester ticket, meaning one can take any public transport (regional trains and buses, trams, etc. ). Except for the high-speed trains. One can easily support their studies along with a student job, which will cover almost all the expenses and leave a little savings too.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Due to the current geopolitical situation, wards have reduced overall positions. The companies aren't hiring as much as prior to the Russia-Ukraine war. Regardless of this, one can work (internship) anywhere in Europe if they don't require a university degree from the same country. Otherwise, most of the large companies don't require you to have a work visa, while SMEs require a work permit.

Lesser known facts of RWTH Aachen
Tips: The cultural shift is definitely there but also understood that you need to study regularly in order to perform well at the University. There is no restriction that you have to finish your courses in a limited number of semesters (4 for master's or 8 for Bachelors). You can take more than the desired count to plan your studies according to your comfort and priorities. Scholarships are there and you can avail them before coming and if you perform well in the first semester then afterwards as well. It usually range from 700-1000 per month. The University is world class and is nearly 150 years old with a lot of amazing professors and intellectual. The opportunity to work while studying is definitely a big bonus and can you help you understand both the industries very well.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty members are always approachable, and there are also multiple student assistants who can help resolve your problems. Most of the courses have both technical and practical lectures, however, the courses are more research-oriented rather than industry-oriented. The teaching faculty is also diverse, and you can find Professors from all around the world.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Germany has good job opportunities in the technical domain and data-related fields. Roles such as Data Scientist/Engineer/Analyst and AI Engineer are available. Packages depend on prior work experience, the state you will be working in, and the size of the company. Visa sponsorship is generally not a major problem for graduates.

RWTH Aachen: Top tier engineering, tough but rewarding
Tips: RWTH Aachen is an incredible place for anyone serious about engineering, but students should know that the academic pressure is real and the learning style is very independent. The university expects you to manage studies, handle German bureaucracy, and adapt to a fast, demanding pace. Knowing basic German makes daily life and admin work much easier, even if your programme is in English. The campus is spread across the city, so you'll walk a lot, and Aachen's cold, rainy winters can be tough at first. But it is all worth it.
Likes (Value for money): Indeed, in effect, you will get access to one of the finest engineering universities in Europe, the best labs, and world-class professors. The university collaborates with some of the finest companies like BMW, Ford, Continental, and others, thus creating chances for internships, theses, and jobs paying good salaries.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are barely any Indian food points available here, which is an issue but not a deal-breaker because you can always rely on either donor or pizzas to bail you out. You can always make food at home because of the availability of various Indian shops selling Indian masalas.

MSc SSE at RWTH, Spelled Out
Tips: I can say I had a fairly smooth transition. For me, it was a different experience to sit and learn among students from different nationalities. Also, it makes you more competitive and striving to be among an elite set of students who rival your intellect. The course is excellent, offering a variety of subjects from very experienced and knowledgeable faculty.
Likes (Safety): The safety, as such is pretty good. There has been an incident of women in the university a year back, but it is commendable that the university took quick and strict action against the offender. The city as such is decent, people are generally friendly, and you seldom find racism issues. Junkies do exist in some isolated areas, but they mind their own business and are rarely a problem for the general public.
Dislikes (Internships): The guidance is decent if you enquire about it. Unlike India it is not served on a platter for you. Internships are not mandatory for SSE although you could do one and it definitely boosts your CV. There are many companies in and around Aachen. Cologne and Du00fcsseldorf area, also fully remote options.

M.Sc. Software Systems Engineering at RWTH Aachen University review
Tips: The course is really theoretically heavy and less practical than you would want if your goal is to gain a job in the field. More oriented towards a PhD. Type education. There are career events where you can go and speak with multiple companies and try to land part-time or full-time opportunities. If your focus is getting a job, then you can choose this university, but make sure to look for student jobs early on to gain experience in your field.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation is great because the university is spread out across the city and you can get there easily by bus. There are only buses available within Aachen city. Sadly, there are no trams, but you don't really need them in such a small city like Aachen. The semester fee also covers transportation costs for one semester, so it's a great value for money.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a few restaurants that have Indian food, and they are decent, I would say, but I would prefer more restaurants and better quality. They also don't have a lot of Indian cuisines, so you can mostly get North Indian stuff easily, but you'll have to go to Ku00f6ln to get good South Indian food. I usually prefer to cook at home and eat out less.

Theoretical and time-intensive but reputed university
Tips: It's very theoretical, and 40% who start don't end up graduating because of that; the exams are quite difficult, and you have to study a lot for them. But tuition is very low, just 320 euros per semester, and it's a top German university, in the global top 100. If you have plans on working in Germany, note that a lot of positions, especially in German companies like Bosch and Siemens and the car companies like BMW, expect almost fluent German skills.
Likes (Public transportation): Good connection by bus and train except to the Informatikzentrum. The bus ticket is included in the tuition fee, so it is practical, and you can even go to the Netherlands and Belgium with it. So it is very nice for traveling in your free time to get your head off of work and studies.
Dislikes (Internships): You can go to the career fair and business talks, but otherwise there is not that much focused recruiting. It's definitely possible to do internships like at BMW, Mercedes, or Siemens, although you will usually have to relocate to southern Germany for that time. Otherwise, in smaller companies in Aachen.
