Tips: Very research oriented yet fun loving campus. You'll learn a lot more than you initially sign up for yet you'll get an experience to cherish. Though competitive in academics, there are many resources to help students along the way.
Tips: Quite the academically inclined college. Academics are rigorous, but the quality of education is also great! Resources are available to students to help throughout education such as health and counselling services, recreational services, women's equity centre, etc.
Likes (Public transportation): Free bus is very helpful. Many free resources are invested in by the student union. These resources, including free busing for students, health insurance, free counselling services, allow students to have the resources they need in order to do well.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): In Biology, an undergraduate degree is often insufficient in the job hunt. Post-grad jobs after a Biology undergraduate degree can be very competitive due to this. Due to the competitiveness, it can be overwhelming for students to try and find jobs after graduation.

Meaningful growth and learning.
Tips: The cultural shift was quite drastic, but still did not feel too unfamiliar. I enjoyed going to classes and learning new things, but the experience was not anything like what I expected. It wasn't as easy to be socially active and find your kind of people.
University was quite academically rigorous, which didn't leave me with a lot of time to focus on other things. The course was something I thoroughly enjoyed, but I still wanted more guidance to tap into all that the course had to offer. The country was average. Things like the increased prices on rent, transportation and groceries did make it a little difficult. Having the campus centrally located meant not a lot of community engagement within the college.

Tips: Life in Toronto is full of surprises and activity. There's never much of a dull moment here. Classes are well structured and formulated in a way that they cover all essential aspects of your chosen field and the business programs are particularly renowned. Professors are wise and empathetic. Keep essentials from India especially medicines, as the winters can really trigger sickness if you're not used to it. Most of my meals are cooked and most groceries are available as well. Good experiences.

The faculty is extremely well-qualified and leading in their respective fields.
Tips: There is definitely a lot of exposure to different cultures, and a lot of freedom given to students. Students at the University of Toronto Mississauga are in charge of their own studies, which I think was probably the biggest cultural change. Unlike in school, you are responsible for your own progress, and nobody will follow up with you. You take charge of your education and assignments. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the experience. While the workload can be tough, the assignments help us gain a better understanding of the topic and subject. The University of Toronto has definitely helped shape my personality and made me more independent.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is extremely well-qualified and leading in their respective fields. Professors are increasingly helpful and kind, especially during office hours, and will patiently explain concepts until fully understood. Some professors go out of their way to accommodate students. Teaching assistants are also extremely helpful. The teaching methodology is mainly research-centric, with many assignments involving research and project work, which aids in better understanding. The campus's diversity is reflected in the teaching faculty, with professors of various nationalities.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is well-connected to the rest of the city, being a major bus stop in Mississauga with nearly all buses passing through. While bus connectivity is excellent, occasional delays do occur, though rarely. I've rated it four stars because, although there's good bus service, the train connectivity throughout the city isn't as strong, and you'll primarily rely on buses.

Tips: The cultural shift here is real and expected, but not as bad as one would anticipate. Once you spend some time on campus, you will find yourself immersed in the city life and your classes to the point you'll have a pretty sorted routine. There are a bunch of mixers held downtown, so always stay a step ahead and network like a pro. Try to be active during classes and discussions, and ask as many questions and doubts you have. Tips: The programme I am in is beyond challenging. You'll need to grind harder than you're prepared for to make it through. It’s a lot of work, but I believe it's worth it. There are tons of job opportunities in the Toronto STEM job market, so none of your hard work will go to waste, and the good thing is that there’s a huge market for STEM in Toronto, so no skill of yours will ever be wasted. There will be sleepless nights because of endless assignments and deadlines, but the market for your skills here is large, so it will ultimately be worth it.

A decent university for a Master's degree, but students need to put in more effort to find jobs.
Tips: Know the college environment and how it functions beforehand by connecting with seniors. Make sure you know what you are getting into, the pros and cons. Getting scholarships in an Engineering college is a bit challenging. A very few selected students get it.
Likes (Public transportation): The connectivity is good. There are buses and trains connecting to major places. You get an online schedule of all the buses and trains, which helps in planning beforehand about your planning. The transportation is free for students or offered a discounted, affordable prices.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): In the current situation, getting 1 interview is very difficult solely based on your application. Referrals from a person in a position to recruit managers, leads are very much needed. Companies are not that enthusiastic about sponsorship. Tips: I have experienced a lot of transformation in myself after coming here. I found the campus slightly overwhelming at first but by joining study groups and clubs, I have felt way more comfortable than I initially was. There are lots of clubs, events, seminars and activities that are held on campus, so I would recommend students to join those events and also build some connections which will help you in your career. Also the professors are generally quite understanding as well so don't hesitate to reach out to them.

High competition for jobs due to competition and immigration.
Tips: Coming to the University of Texas at Dallas was overwhelming at first. It took me a while to settle down but once the classes began I started seeing more people from India, my home country so I felt comfortable. The university does provide scholarships based on GRE score and it is half the fees annually.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The number of immigrants in Texas is huge compared to other states in the US. There are so many Indians who have come and settled in Texas which makes you feel like you're at home. Also, many of the companies are moving towards Texas as it is comparatively cheaper so the job opportunities are also increasing.
Dislikes (Internships): The job market in the US is currently bad and not many companies are hiring interns. Companies used to hire 10+ interns before but now are only hiring 1 intern. So the competition has also increased and since there are a lot of international students in the US, you are competing against millions for one internship.

Great University with great quality of faculty.
Tips: The experience has certainly taught me a lot. The cultural shift was immense. While there is a big Indian student community, you have people grouping up with other students from the same region, often creating a sense of micro-groups that speak specific languages. Local people are friendly, like talking to you and are inclined to help you too. There are all kinds of people on campus, and you will be able to find something interesting for you if you try and look for it. You need to work heavily on time management and plan everything according to your coursework. It is important to have a good social circle when you need assistance on coursework, but also try to make friends outside of this. All in all, it is a new experience, so try to do new things while ensuring you keep your academic performance at its best.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty on campus, especially programme directors and some professors are really approachable and knowledgeable. You can set up appointments or walk-in to their office if they are available, and they are happy to help answer any questions you have.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I would love to move to the United States permanently, however the current conditions make it very difficult for people to find a good job opportunity. Pay in the United States is also slowly reducing for entry level roles while competition is also increasing. These factors are making it less favorable for international students. Semester fees are also increasing with a consistent increase in living expenses.

Great University experience but limited jobs
Tips: It's a great college and a good opportunity to find peers and friends who are interested in the same things as you. The only thing is that they don't provide any support in finding jobs so you are on your own when it comes to finding roles. Choose your master's program wisely.
Likes (Public transportation): Great connectivity by DART. Robust network significantly helps students in transportation from a lot of pick-up points near campus however, Dallas in general doesn't have great public transportation. It is affordable and reliable for students and everyone.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): For Marketing, very limited jobs are available as most companies don't want to sponsor especially in this economy. It is very much luck dependent, even though having a STEM degree helps but mostly it's about choosing the right subjects and having the right experience.
