An Ancient, Wonderful University; The University of Glasgow
Tips: You should be completely certain about what you want to do before applying to this university. If you are looking for a job in the UK, I would advise you to study a vocational degree. Do not study Computer Engineering/Science. Due to recent trends and the development of GenAI/Agentic AI, the need for junior developers has decreased. For people who have studied Computer Science, I would advise you to study Data Science/Analysis/Cloud Computing. AI companies are constantly in need of Data Scientists, and there certainly is a great demand for it. If you have a good grip on programming languages, a few years of work experience from India, and perhaps a few courses on AI from Coursera or IBM, you would look highly employable. For those who have done a B.BA/B. Comm, I would recommend getting into specialized degrees. If you choose to do an MBA, that's great, but degrees that are a bit more specific, like Human Resource Management, International Business Relations, Finance, Supply Chain Management, etc. Would be great too. But make sure that you have work experience before coming to the UK because there are lots of people with MBAs, so there is more supply than demand. As for people from my own field, the Humanities, I would encourage you not to study degrees that look nice on paper. I know it feels good to study the subject you are good at, and believe me, I did it too, but there is not a large amount of opportunity for work in fields like these. For you, I would recommend studying Journalism, Marketing, and Media because these are vocational degrees which will increase your chances of getting a job. If you studied a degree like English Literature in your undergraduate studies, it will be easy for you to get a job as a content writer, Editor, marketing specialist, or Copywriter in India. You can use the work experience you obtained there along with a degree that directly supplements the skills. The most employable of these fields would be in marketing, so keep that in min
Likes (Public transportation): I rated it 5/5 because, like most cities in the UK, transportation is quite good in Glasgow. There is a brilliant subway system (the Clockwork Orange) connect most of Central Glasgow to the University, and there are plenty of bus routes available as well. If you happen to be under 22 at the time you are coming to Scotland (not the UK, just Scotland), you can apply for a Young Scot Card, allowing you to travel on the bus for free until you turn 22. There is also ScotRail (the national railway), which has local stops all over the city, and the beautiful thing is, it connects other Scottish cities and British cities too!
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I rated it 2/5 because of how difficult it has currently become for international students to stay in the UK and work there. Essentially, it has become difficult to obtain a Skilled Worker visa and, consequently, the Indefinite Leave to Remain status. After finishing your degree, the UK does provide you with the option to apply for a Graduate Visa (Post Study Work visa), but that is the easiest of the Next hurdles you will have to face in order to get a proper job. Before anything, you must understand that a Graduate Visa is an investment of at least u00a33,000 (Rs. 3,87,666), not including rent, food, transport, etc. This visa provides a graduate some time to look for a job that sponsors you to stay. This is ESPECIALLY difficult for a candidate with no work experience. The company that provides a Skilled Worker visa to a graduate has to pay a sum of money every year to the government, and this is difficult for them to justify in the case of a person with no work experience. My advice to you is that you should pursue your undergraduate degree in India, get a job, and work there for 2-3 years before planning an educational trip to the UK. This will also give you some time to think about which line of work you actually want to do before making such a heavy investment in your education (it is about u00a335,000 for a year in a Master's degree). If you come to the UK with 1 undergraduate degree and 2-3 years of work experience under your belt, it will make you a far more attractive candidate for employers and heighten your chances of landing a sponsored job.

The Journey to the University of Glasgow
Tips: Upon arriving in Glasgow, I definitely took some time to acclimatise to the culture and traditions around here. But it didn't take much time to adapt and settle down after getting a sense of life here. The most asked question is the monthly budget apart from tuition fees, and I'd say it depends on how deep your pockets are. You can definitely penny-pinch to live in accommodation for lower rent and survive on the bare minimum, or do the opposite, but a good range would be around 1000-2000 pounds a month for your rent, shopping, travel, etc. As far as the university and the course, it's a wonderful Uni with a great history and heritage we are privileged to be a part of. A wonderful city filled with wonders and culture in every street.
Likes (Indian Food): Every other street in Glasgow has an Indian restaurant. And the quality of food in many of them resembles home food, leaving you nostalgic. Additionally, there are now restaurants that cater specifically to various cuisines within India and offer specialised food as well. Though I prefer to cook at home, I also enjoy occasionally splurging on a good Indian meal every now and then.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Although there could be a lot of opportunities for you after your master's degree, the competition is very high. Moreover, as an international student, you are facing some additional challenges while searching for jobs with visa sponsorship. Now, very few organizations are willing to fund students' education to get them into entry-level jobs. It might be worth it if you are going to take a master's course, but I cannot understand why you want to turn it into a job here.

All in all, embracing independence despite the initial loneliness is an exciting experience.
Likes (Student Life): In light of the wonderful neo-Gothic architecture, such as the building of Hogwarts Castle and the activities surrounding the university, the University of Glasgow features many cultural associations, which include Indian and Tamil associations. Not only do they study, but the students can also go to interesting places such as Byres Road, or they could even immerse themselves in the Scotch and Scottish pub culture. In the end, making an adventure out of it all makes life romantic.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Ultimately, success is dependent on the state of mind of the person involved. People who are committed to establishing a future for themselves in the country will go out of their way to try to stay in the country. It is, however, clear that a lot of luck comes into play, and immigration laws have become much stricter in recent times. In a very uncertain environment, those who manage to get their sponsorship will prove their worth.

Likes (Student Life): Student life there is fantastic, you make lots of friends, companions for life, plus you learn about a different side of yourself that you never knew existed. Student life is easygoing apart from assignments, there are loads of offers one can use and redeem as a student to help save money as well.

Challenges and benefits of student life University of Glasgow ( quantum technology course)
Tips: Scottish people are really friendly, so it should be fine. Main thing I need to say that focus on studies because it's a prestigious university and have lot of classes and assignments are there for the course, those who tried to do part time have mostly had failure issues in their courses. So best course is to survive with loan money and then look for anything after course finishes. Case otherwise we close the aim what we came here. If it solely for part time it would be hard for you. Course is really good to be honest, but it's mostly related to hardware rather than quantum computing software side. But also you won't have much time to relax mostly we will be library and research. I applied for international scholarship which give 10000 pound discount on student feels which I got but please apply early as possible because it is limited.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty is really good for my course, but do not expect teaching strategy will be similar to India and understanding of teaching is mid, because mostly it will be like professors show and teach current research we ourselves have to put effort on it to understand exactly what it is there. Also you will get opportunities to access lot of sources required for course which is enough.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): PR is currently really hard in UK as visa rules are getting tighter and tighter. Also even for job opportunities it's a tight situation. But if you are planning for Ph.D. research funding is mostly towards home students, still options are there. All these being said, opportunities are there but it requires experience .

Tips: What do students need to know before joining this college? Students need to be prepared to do self-study and manage their time effectively. The workload might be heavy, especially when approaching deadlines, but the university has good support when required. How did you adjust after joining here? Was there a culture change? It was quite an easy adjustment, even though it took some time to adapt to the weather conditions, new food and an overall different lifestyle. Glasgow is a multicultural city, so it was very easy to meet people from other countries. Do you have any scholarship? If yes, how did you get it and what is the stipend? I do not have any scholarship. How satisfied are you with your university, course and country? In general, I am quite satisfied with the University of Glasgow, the Data Science course and staying in the UK.
Likes (Part time work): Why have you rated 5 for Student Life? I have rated it 5 because something is happening outside the classrooms at all times. The campus is active, and there are many ways to make contacts and hang out with your mates. What do you do in the course of your day in college? What do you like most? Most of my time is devoted to attending lessons and working on assignments. In addition to that, I spend my time hanging out with friends, visiting the library, and exploring the campus. I like the social aspect of studying in university most. What kinds of events do they organise at your university? How often do you attend them? There are many different events held during the year, such as social, society, talks, sports and cultural events. I participate whenever I have an opportunity, especially in social and student events. What student clubs and communities are there on your campus? There are many societies and clubs devoted to sports, culture, music, games, technology, academic studies and many other things.
Dislikes (Internships): Why did you rate 5 on Quality of faculty? The faculty are knowledgeable and explain things clearly. They are also supportive and have good subject knowledge. How accessible and approachable is the faculty in your department? They are easy to approach and usually respond to questions. We can contact them through email or speak to them after classes. Share details about the teaching methodology that you find unique in your department. There is a good mix of lectures, practical work and coursework. We get to work with real datasets and apply what we learn instead of only studying theory. How diverse is the teaching faculty in terms of nationality? The faculty is quite diverse, with staff from different countries and backgrounds. This also gives the department a good international feel.

The golden era of UK has vanished - Don't come to University of Glasgow
Tips: The university doesn't provide any help regarding jobs; if you fail any subject, they don't even help you in resits. The University professors are busier with the undergraduates than they are invested in Postgraduate students. Try not to come to University of Glasgow.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport is well connected in the city and the outskirts too. You can go to any place you want, as we travelled to a lot of places and liked them. The scenic views are beautiful around Glasgow; the only thing you will love about the city is its views.
Dislikes (Internships): University of Glasgow doesn't support students in finding jobs and even restrict to apply for Internships. I had an internship, and the University denied me access, saying that in a Master's course you can't do any internship unless it is given by my University.

Tips: For someone from South Asia, it can be a massive cultural shock. Also, the Glaswegian accent is difficult to understand in your early days. I received the Chevening Scholarship, and I applied for it through their online portal. Overall, I would say it was a wholesome experience. The course, the university, and the city of Glasgow gave me the best memories.
Likes (Student Life): Apart from attending the usual classes, there are many seminars/workshops that you can attend to boost your network. Also, the library is awesome, students spend a lot of time there, especially during their research. There are different academic clubs, sports/adventure clubs, arts clubs, international communities, students support communities.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): As I returned to my country, I didn't really look for any options for permanent settlement there. However, there are a few friends who have had some decent opportunities to settle there. I personally would not permanently immigrate to this country, but would love to visit it often.

Tips: Offers a wide variety of courses for UG, PG, MRes and PhD. The college campus is beautiful, and courses are structured according to your convenience (you get to choose your optional classes and timings). The city itself is beautiful. The university also has a lot of clubs you can be a part of. There are a lot of events organised by the student committee. Research your course carefully. Understand the course structure (which will be provided on the university website). There's a lot of help available from faculty and student committees. Don't hesitate to contact them. Contact alumni from your course to know better.
Likes (Internships): My course had a compulsory subject called 'Work Placement'. This course is an excellent addition to the degree and helped us gain field experience related to what we studied. The faculty would provide us with a list of companies/ngos that were in need of student interns, and we did the internship for a course of 4 months.
Dislikes (Value for money): I think if you're planning to do this course, an engineering or architecture background would be more helpful. The course was very well structured, and I have no complaints about it. But the job opportunities for the future would definitely require you to be from a technical background, rather than a non-technical one, which I am from. This is a personal opinion since I am not from an engineering background. For a student with a teaching background who wishes to learn towards sustainability or building public space, this is surely an amazing degree.

Glasgow is about its people
Tips: Glasgow is very friendly and quite open to people of all cultures. The University also offers scholarships for Indian students (like the Merit one and a few others). You can always apply for a lot of funding opportunities during your course as well. I was quite satisfied. I focused on the coursework during the year without any part-time hassle and ended up with a Distinction. I must say that the coursework during the year is highly technical and stressful, especially if you are in STEM. The quality of education and the requirement of independent study and work are vastly different compared to India. You will not be spoon-fed, and you will be expected to have punctuality, effort, and time management all on your own while taking care of personal life as well.
Likes (Internships): The careers portals designed for students and graduates of UoG are pretty helpful, they also run a lot of events, consulting, and all-round help towards applications. A lot of the time, you can graduate and find academic work within the department itself as well, or a role in one of the admin/support teams of the college as well.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are plenty of on-campus part-time jobs, but there are also other students, and in a one-year M.Sc. course you are competing for some jobs that people here are experienced in. If it's a niche role in your subject, quite possible. I would suggest not doing a lot of part-time work during your studies if you want a really good grade. If you only care about passing your degree, then you can afford 10-15 hours of part-time work per week. You are allowed to work up to 20 hours as a student per week, and you get the NI pay, which is about a bit over u00a312 per hour.

Tips: The main thing to prepare for before starting the MSc CS at Glasgow is the academic style—it's very independent, so you'll be spending a lot of time doing self-study and research projects outside of lectures. The Scottish weather takes some adjusting to, but the campus vibe more than makes up for it.
Receiving the £10k scholarship made studying abroad way more manageable. The course content covers all the key areas like ML, data science, AI, and cybersecurity with really practical, project-based learning. Plus, faculty support is solid and the university brings in a lot of tech employers for career fairs throughout the year.

Excellent exposure with welcoming atmosphere
Tips: Scholarships are possible for international students, especially from India. The usual scholarship amount is £5,000; the maximum is £10,000. The university is good for exposure. Cultural shifts exist because there are not a lot of Indian communities in Glasgow as compared to England, especially London. Overall, the course and university are good for international students. They are welcoming.
Likes (Indian Food): Glasgow, as a city, offers a lot of choices across restaurants, across every cuisine. There are plenty of Indian restaurants to order from. Also, there are Indian shops as well for groceries where you can buy a lot of ready-to-eat food items from Haldiram and other brands, which makes cooking easier as well. These Indian grocery shops basically provide you everything essential for cooking as well.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not a lot of options are available for international students; no direct university placements are happening as well. Based on the government guidelines, it’s very difficult for the forms for our intern students; even if they are doing that, they have to pay a minimum of £35,000 annually, and they are only allowed to work for one and a half years post-education, which makes it challenging to find a job.

UofG - The university that helped me discover myself
Tips: There was a big cultural shift. A lot of diversity is something that stood out to me. It was a wonderful experience interacting with people across the world and learning about their culture. I did not find any scholarship. I am extremely satisfied with the university. The course curriculum was also incredible detailed. The professors were extremely helpful in aiding my transition from engineering to physics research.
Likes (Indian Food): Food options were great, honestly. Lots of Indian restaurants all around. Lots of places to try a lot of cuisines. You can source prices and a lot of Indian spices as well. I did pack some spices myself from home, but there are also spices available to buy at local stores.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Chances of permanent settlement in the country are a bit of a problem right now due to stricter anti-migration laws. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful place to settle. Personally, I wouldn't settle in the UK. But that's just me XD. Although I can definitely see why it's a very attractive option. Beautiful place, wonderful people, and amazing weather (I love cold places).

A prestigious university with a vibrant, diverse community and endless opportunities to connect.
Tips: The campus is humongous and the city is very vibrant. I personally felt welcome and it's not like you will feel alone. There are so many societies in the University that you can join and meet people. I applied through a consultancy before coming here, you can do it alone as well but it makes the process easier. I received the India Merit Award which was based on my Undergrad marks. Check the University and the coursework you are applying to thoroughly. Check the job opportunities and be prepared.
Likes (Safety): The city is very safe, you can walk in the area at night, especially Glasgow West End and you won't feel anything. Students always have an app provided by the university that they can use whenever they run into any kind of problem that requires immediate attention. It's like a 24x7 service available over the call, irrespective of you being on campus or not. Luckily, I hadn't had any such experience. Glasgow is a very vibrant city full of diversity and amazing people.
Dislikes (Internships): You will have plenty of opportunities for an internship but the competition is fierce; you need to keep an eye out for internships as there are only a few spots. You might not get an internship if you are in your Master's as most of them are looking for undergrad students and if you are able to find some, it might not be in your relevant field of study. The university does offer a lot of internships for which you can apply. They are both paid and unpaid.

Tips: There was no significant cultural shock. The people in Glasgow are very friendly and do not discriminate. The weather might be an initial challenge, but learning to cook can help. I didn't receive any scholarships. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Student Life): My day at college typically involves lectures, library visits, and exploring the beautiful campus. I appreciate the low-stress environment, the helpful staff, and the numerous student support platforms, along with the campus's overall beauty. The college organises many events, such as Holi parties, Garba nights, Halloween events, summer barbecues, and industrial visits, and I participate in around 1-5 of them. There are also various communities for different religions and nationalities, such as Indian student clubs, student welfare groups, and mental well-being initiatives.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer cooking for myself. Local restaurants mostly serve non-vegetarian food, and as a vegetarian, I've noticed many use beef oil. Additionally, Indian restaurants here don't taste authentic; the food is often overly sweet, and the prices are high compared to the quality and quantity.

Enriching academic experience with some practical challenges.
Tips: Joining the University of Glasgow requires adjusting to independent study and a higher cost of living. The cultural shift was mainly academic the diverse and supportive environment has been very helpful. I am very satisfied with my course, university and life here.
Likes (Indian Food): Glasgow offers a variety of Indian restaurants at affordable to mid range prices. The area also boasts diverse Asian Middle Eastern and European cuisine options. While I enjoy trying different places I mostly prefer cooking for myself since I live off campus.
Dislikes (Internships): I was unable to secure an internship. The guidance through career services and online portals is good, opportunities exist but are competitive and not always aligned with Health Services Management making it challenging

Tips: Be open for discomfort. Its hard moving countries to a completely foreign place and you will feel the difference and homesickness. Be open to immerse yourself in all the experiences you can possibly get, meet everyone you can and try to talk to everyone.
Likes (Indian Food): I am not usually someone who cooks a lot so there are quite a lot of options for indian food. There are tiffin services as well base on your locality. Maynooth in particular doesn't have a lot but you will find a lot in Dublin and around. In maynooth however there are a lot of food options .
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I think the main difference in colleges here is that they do not offer placements so it is hard and you need to do everything on your own. Most companies take from internships and the rest have specific graduate roles that only open in a certain windows.

Tips: I am completely satisfied with university life, but exams might be unpredictable because professors would urge for exams without any prior notice. The university regained my communication and interpersonal skills, and the course structure and academic environment are very flexible and satisfactory.
Likes (Student Life): The classes for business analytics students would be mostly 2 or 3 days per week, which means we can find work-life balance for those who have part-time jobs. Moreover, there are clubs like STEM and other events for students; students who are excited about sports can be part of them but genuinely need to find time to invest in them.
Dislikes (Internships): I rated 1 for internships because there were not many opportunities for M.Sc. business analytics students, as it is just a 1-year course; there was not much direct guidance given from the university side to students, and students needed to search for internships.

Good college, good opportunities.
Tips: The course I'm currently doing is very helpful and enjoyable for me. They've given me many opportunities regarding social life as well as academics. I received the general entry scholarship as I got 575+ points in my leaving certificate. Being an Indian, there's a huge Indian society here, and it feels like home. We celebrate Diwali, etc. It's also close to Dublin, so we can go to other events but stay out of the busy town.
Likes (Value for money): Justified for Europeans, not justified for non-European and international students. It is very high considering the college doesn't give back to us in any way. We don't see where our money is going. It is also the country. Ireland is a very expensive place to live in.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Very hard to find jobs. But it's mainly about the job market rather than the college itself. Not many companies want to sponsor a visa. From what I've heard, they prefer locals over students who need sponsorship, as it is easier for them and they get the same skill sets.

Tips: Come prepared for anything. It's a good experience that will definitely shape you in a way that you cannot imagine. Most importantly, try to get at least 3 years of experience before coming here if you want to get even an entry-level job in Ireland.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a lot of food options that you can get in India, but the prices are going to be a bit shocking at first, but that's the only downside of that. I don't know much of the names of the restaurants available, but there are lots of them, and even for groceries, there are a lot of options here.
Dislikes (Part time work): There were not many available openings for part-time jobs. Even if it did, it was mostly applicable to PhD students. not for masters. The average pay in most places would be the basic pay, but in colleges, you would get a decent pay of 17.24 to 22.00. In terms of manageability, it is a bit difficult but manageable.

A subtle trampoline for growth.
Tips: I experienced a great cultural shift after coming here. We all have a concrete plan before but landing here nullifies all our expectations and plans. You will 100% come across a path that you didn't plan but is best for your growth. It will take time to assimilate into a new way of life, but sooner or later, you will enjoy it. I didn't get any scholarship. University, course and country, all three are great for me, fully satisfied.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is great at welcoming international students, they organise inclusion events specially to have us international students feel at home. You can easily approach any faculty member regardless of their hierarchy. Teaching methodology is quite different compared to India. After a month or two you will grasp the process. There are lecturers from all across the globe.
Dislikes (Internships): Here in Ireland, it's not like India, where companies will come after. The faculty will provide you with the best tools they can but it's up to our efforts to go after an internship opportunity, so the biggest hurdle for this is you being on a student visa. Companies want to invest their time in people they can train for the long term, and with Visa requirements, there is uncertainty from our side.

Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty is amazing and super helpful.
Teaching is mainly like an open schooling so you have to make notes by yourself as they won't give any notes.
Assignments are strict so don't try to copy from the AI, otherwise you will fail in that subject.
Dislikes (Part time work): It's a bit difficult to get part time unless you go alone with a CV and give it to all the shops
On campus part time is very competitive but not impossible so keep applying from the college website all the time for the mentor or assistant roles.

A really fun, supportive and understanding place to be in.
Tips: It's a lot of work. It would be better if students try to get an overview of the coursework. Do not think that you are gonna get the job the month after finishing college, it takes time so be ready and patient. Build LinkedIn connections and start reaching out to them, ask them if they can refer you and keep the connection. When you can start applying, you'll have a set of connections and you'll have a higher chance of getting a job.
Likes (Value for money): The university is really good. The professors take their job very seriously and the assignments are not too theoretical it's more practical, you could use those assignments as a topic during interviews and the university itself is very beautiful and really big.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Finance as a domain has a lot of scope in Ireland. There are a lot of job opportunities in Edge funds, private Equity and Quantitative finance. However it's important that you have some experience before Master's for you to get a job. It's really hard to get a job as a fresher and it does take a lot of time for the application process so expect to have patience.

Internships were not part of my course.
Tips: The education method is different. Nothing here is spoon feeding. Always prepare before classes.
I did not get any scholarship even though I applied for it. Nobody really received it this year.
I'm satisfied enough, but I could've been happier if I were not antisocial.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Very approachable and friendly faculty. Different teaching method from India. Updated modules/ subjects.
They don't ask you to take notes for everything. Everything is up to us. Come to class or not. But they are very friendly. We could ask them anything, they are very helpful.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships were not part of my course. It was not mandatory to do an internship during the course.
But I did remote internships without pay related to my field, Data science. However, that was of no use. Getting paid internships is difficult. There are other courses in University, where internships are part of the course.

Good academics and college life.
Tips: You'll get fit in very quickly if you are inclusive of different people and their ideas and scholarships are available but are mainly given to students with good work experience and SOP. Also give good consideration to choosing the right counsellor and applying early helps too.
Likes (Student Life): Commuting to attending college classes, cooking and doing assignments and group activities will take a major portion of your time.
The quality of students you have here and the professors you get. Also the college life is great, you have your own college pub and bar, lots of fun activities and clubs, it's exactly how we see in movies but you're actually living it.
Dislikes (Part time work): Since it's a small countryside and Maynooth is a student town, there is a huge competition for part time roles. Also commuting to Dublin for part time is not feasible as the journey takes around an hour or more. The average hourly pay here in Ireland for the year 2026 is 13.5/hr and you can do up to 20 hours a week while your college classes are going on, you can work extra hours during December or during semester break.

This is going to be the best time of your life
Tips: The absolute first thing any student needs to know before coming to Maynooth is to sort out housing as early as humanly possible. Ireland’s accommodation crisis hits Kildare extremely hard, and finding a place in town or along the Dublin commuter route is a genuine battle. The same goes for part-time jobs—start applying for local retail, hospitality, or on-campus roles the moment you land.
Weather-wise, Maynooth gets exceptionally cold, wet, and windy from autumn through spring. Invest in proper waterproof gear and heavy layers because walking between the North and South campuses in horizontal rain is no joke.
Academically and socially, Maynooth shines if you actually put yourself out there. Don't just sit in lectures—go to professors' office hours, engage in tutorials, and make full use of the university's support hubs (like the Academic Writing Centre and Career Development Service). The faculty members are approachable and have incredible industry context, but you have to take the initiative to connect with them

Tips: I will suggest that students learn how to search for the best articles online, which will help students during assignment time. Likes (Safety): The management of the university ensures the safety of both students and the campus itself. The management regularly conducts fire drills, and they take student safety seriously by making sure all their security practices align with those of the local police department.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food at Maynooth is expensive. There are a few places on campus that offer a wide selection of foods, including pizza, Indian, sandwiches, etc. , but they can be price. Plus, the food is on the greasy side, which isn't everyone preference. It's definitely cheaper to eat off-campus.

Tips: Nothing much, but they should know about their course structure and their future career path. If fresher, according to that, or experienced then according they can search. So, scholarships are based on luck but not on any merit. They may not expect any scholarship.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): After finishing their studies students have multiple options for settling down. In addition to finding a job in the IT field students may also find employment in a variety of industries and try to secure a post-study visa. Even though getting a visa can be a little difficult the rewards are well worth it for the students.
Dislikes (Internships): Unfortunately, the university doesn’t offer many good internships and it’s hard to find any on your own. Even though the school has a website with internship postings, getting hired is still difficult. The college does have the BCP Project that functions as an internship but it’s unclear whether or not this experience will help you in the future. So after graduation finding an internship will be pretty much impossible.

A supportive and engaging university experience at Maynooth.
Tips: The university is very student-centric, offering strong academic support (including research and writing assistance). I did not get any scholarships. Likes (Permanent Immigration): I am hoping to get a critical skill visa after my graduation and am applying to them actively. In my field of study, there are not a lot of companies offering CSEP, but there are a few startups that offer a decent package so that I can support myself and settle here. Also, there are lots of visa types available in Ireland that make it easy to stay after graduation, including the general work permit.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are a lot of post-study job opportunities available, but it depends on which streamline you are opting for as an individual. But they are not usually given to people who have high grades or credit in their previous degree. It's always best to do the maximum amount of research before planning your career abroad.

Great University with good faculty.
Tips: I got a scholarship and applied through the PAC website while applying for admission. I changed my dressing style and some food, but I have adapted to some Irish food. I have experienced great friendships and a helping nature from the students and faculty.
Likes (Value for money): The university is good. Good faculty gives us good projects to work on for group work, and we get to work with students from other countries. The faculty are from different countries and have experience in teaching. They assist us with the projects and help us.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The canteen has Irish food and things like chips and cool drinks, but it's in the same price range as the places outside of the university. I understand that the students at the university are mostly from Ireland, but there should be more food options for the students who came from different countries.

The university is good but it is difficult to find a scholarship.
Tips: There is no cultural shift, everything went well. Scholarships are purely based on luck. The lectures are good and very stress-free. The country is safe, and everyone here is friendly, and there is no racism here. The course was good, but there is more strength in teaching courses.
Likes (Public transportation): There is good transportation available all day long, but it is reduced for students. There are good connections to all parts of the campus. Students can also easily travel from Dublin. Since students receive a discounted rate for all types of transportation, it is very affordable.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Very few companies will sponsor jobs, and we need to apply for the visa ourselves, according to the salary range. So, I'm not sure what companies sponsor, but it seems likely that jobs in healthcare are more likely to be sponsored than technical jobs.

Tips: The transition did involve a cultural shift. I received a merit based scholarship that covered part of my tuition so I suggest future students look for similar opportunities to apply for. I would also suggest that they come prepared for some independent learning and reach out to other students in their peer group for advice.
Likes (Safety): The campus is well monitored with 24/7 security and I have always felt safe. Apart from campus security, there are late night transport services student support teams and safety apps for emergencies. My experience in the city has been positive. People are helpful and public places feel secure even at night.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The country provides clear and achievable pathways for permanent residency especially for skilled graduates and international students. With a relevant job and visa the chances of settling here are quite good given the quality of life safety and work opportunities. I would definitely consider permanent immigration if the opportunity arises.
