Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2024

University of Windsor is just an average university.
Tips: I am partially satisfied because it is not for me. Value for money university and some of the professors are so rude to you. You are going to face some of your cultural differences and some racism if you are Indian.
Likes (Part time work): They allow full part-time, like 24 hours a week to work and I can't complain about not being on campus, but they provided us with some opportunities to grab some jobs. We can do it on campus, and it can help with the finances, but it really didn't help much.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): We've got all the accent, and some of the professors are not really teaching well. Some of them are so rude to you. Some of them are so good to you. I failed in my last semester just because this professor was having personal issues with me and he didn't even try to listen to me. I was suffering from depression and I also provided the medical group, then also didn't hear it.

Job offers through the university are rare.
Tips: I've been to other countries before, so the cultural shift was non-existent for me. However, I would say that the folks here are a lot more open-minded and tolerant didn’t get any scholarships. The university fee was somewhat manageable, so it was not a financial burden on me and my family. I'm satisfied with the choice of my course and university. I've already got my Work Permit, so you're more or less good for 4-5 years if you go to Canada. PR situation is fluctuating and would likely depend on the selection outcome.
Likes (Safety): Have never felt unsafe anywhere near or on the campus. Whenever I was going back to my room late at nightaround 3 am, I would always take the university route. There are kiosks that you can use to call emergency services. There were no major incidents when I was a student, so I'd say it's safe.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): It has been a year since I graduated, and I haven’t found a job that’s related to my field of study. However, it could just be a representation of the country’s economy and my lack of qualifications, rather than the university's fault. Job offers through campus were quite rare, so you would do better by networking and building up a portfolio right from your first semester.

MEng in Environmental Engineering - Batch of 2023
3.4
University of Windsor is academically oriented and great for international students.
Tips: I opted to stay off campus, so the people whom I stay with are from my community, whereas I have made many friends at the University from different parts of the world which has made me aware of their different cultures and lifestyles. The course that I opted for was not thesis-based, scholarships are only available for a thesis-based course. The amount of scholarship depends on the student mentor under whom he/she would be completing his/her thesis. Overall, I have had a good experience at the University. I have learned many things over here that have helped me grow academically.
Likes (Safety): Windsor is a small city, the safety of a person is always in his hands. There are many good services provided by the university campus, one of them is a mobile application that has the option to get your location traced by security personnel till you reach your home. There are regular police patrolling at night in sensitive areas. By God's grace, I have never faced any such bad experience to date. But I would personally recommend not to travel in the city at night because there are many crackheads or homeless people who might rob you or charm you.
Dislikes (Part time work): The availability of on-campus jobs depends on when you apply, they are there for sure but you have to apply for them on time to get them. Whereas, off-campus opportunities are also available but it takes time to find a suitable part-time job. As of now, due to the bad job market, there are fewer opportunities compared to the time before. The management of part-time and academics goes as per the student, the person has to prioritize the more important thing. Some students can manage it well but some find it difficult. Mostly, the jobs offer you a minimum hourly wage of 16.5$, whereas there are some other jobs which may cost 1-2 $ more than the minimum wage.

Good for undergrad courses.
Tips: The university is really good, you get to learn more provided you take good courses in each semester. The passing grade is 70% so you have to study for that through which you learn a lot. Scholarships are available for a thesis-based course. I didn’t get any scholarship because my program was course-based. I liked the course, and the city is a bit on the outskirts and doesn’t have much to do, so it's perfect for students. As they don't get involved with any distractions.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): From this University, you are eligible to apply for Provincial Nominee Program through the master stream just after your graduation, so it's easy to get a Permanent Residence after that. I would like to stay here for a while to get to know the work culture of this country.
Dislikes (Internships): There is a co-op program that is given to students who have a past work experience of more than 3-4 years. The students who get a co-op most probably apply on their own or are given the company names by the university, I didn’t get any co-op so I cannot say much about it.

Faculty members are not good. Lack of good infrastructure.
Tips: The courses lack specialization so that is not good for future. Wrote learning concept is highly promoted here which is a turn-off for me. The course content is in contrast to what is in demand in the industry. Lack of options for subject selection.
Likes (Public transportation): University is well connected with the city and is located near the city center. Proximity to the city center allows you to commute anywhere with ease. It allows undisrupted commute to anywhere across the city. Majority of the Indian stores fall along the main bus route.
Dislikes (Value for money): Faculty members are not good. Lack of specialisation in any subject. Wrote learn promoted. Subjects don't relate to each other and a very shallow knowledge of the topics. Some mainstream subject teachers can't deliver lectures properly due to lack of comprehension in English. This programme runs in a makeshift building near the city center which was apparently a cinema hall before. Due to lack of communication with the on campus students, there is no international exposure and the crowd is 99% Indian (Gujarat). Lack of infrastructure which is highly disproportionate to the number of students joining in each intake.

MAC program and University of Windsor is worth it to start your career abroad.
Tips: The campus has great study space, including a really good library. I'm glad I pursued this programme and moving to a new country definitely helped me to grow as a person. Initially managing stuff on my own was challenging, but it was worth it. I'm satisfied with the course and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to enter the tech industry.

Awesome and amazing University of Canada
Tips: Before joining students should know about academic programs, location and campus, financial support, living facility, Student support service, experience of faculty members related to selected programme and transportation. University also provides many scholarships for students like merit based scholarship, International student scholarship and many others. I am fully satisfied with the university and its course and city is very awesome.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty in the department can be approached in many ways by having appointments, interacting with them during their office hours, asking doubts during lectures and using other communication channels like Email. Faculty members in the department are experts in their own fields and have unique ways of explaining different concepts. I found group project-based learning a unique concept. Diversity of faculty in the department is less.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Campus is well connected with the city as it is located in Ontario. Mode available for public transportation are Transmit Windsor, WEGO shuttle, U pass programme and so on. Well, public transport is not too costly but the problem here is the improper schedule of the buses, as it is public transport so it is more crowded and also there is a lack of accessibility.

Life of pie in Canadian city!
Tips: I chose automotive and the whole Canada has only two universities which offer Masters in automotive and this is one of the best compared to others. Before joining this college, gather information about the city first because job market is low in Windsor, so you have to bear with that and fees is very high for the courses.

Overall experience is good and decent.
Tips: I didn't transition or experience any cultural shift after coming here. I didn't get any scholarships and students from the master's program are not eligible for scholarships. I am satisfied with my course but they made me take Matlab as a compulsory subject but I did my bachelor's in IT.

A student will get 100% knowledge and can be industry ready.
Tips: My college is a government affiliated college. They provide top quality education and prepare a student to work with industry directly. If an individual really wanna study and gain some knowledge then only they should take admission. If anyone just wanna be here to earn money then my college is not for them.

Business (Management) Diploma - Batch of 2023

Tough starting but good ending. A bit stressful but worth it.
Tips: It was a very different environment over here. As there are lots of students from different backgrounds, it would be a golden chance to learn about different countries and cultures. Other than that, there are some options for students to get scholarships but only a few are available for international students and others are for local students. So, we have to check according to our courses and particular College or University. I was satisfied with my course as it was related to my field of interest and background (Business). My institution provided me with facilities such as diverse teaching staff, a proper academic curriculum and support whenever needed. But they charge huge fees to an international student in contrast to local students. Over here in Canada, it is an overall good experience. However, there are lots of regulations and rules which make life a little stressful here.
Likes (Safety): This country is very safe to live for students as well as other general public. For students, there are varieties of departments to deal with different issues such as medical, financial, and tax credits. Apart from this, we see some road problems in winter like accidents, and heavy cold.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There are very few options to get permanent residence in Canada right now because there are temporary restrictions on (SINP) in 22 different working sectors. This includes all food-related and some other industries. If given a chance I would not prefer to permanently immigrate to this country as there are good work opportunities over here. But, the environment over here is a bit stressful and not as natural as the home country.

It is a fine college not great.
Tips: I am satisfied with the college and the country however it is a subjective thing. The study is mostly self and you have to prepare everything by yourself. The faculty does help you if you are stuck somewhere. I had not availed of any scholarships for my studies.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): There are options for the settlement based on the immigration scheme from the government. I would like to stay in the country. Everyone has their own fair share of reasons for whether they would like to stay in the country. I would like to work hard and explore the opportunities available.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Very few companies or none would come for the placements. Individuals on their own have to do the work to get a field job. Since there was no company during my passing I have no idea about the packages they provide. You need to upgrade your skills in order to get the desired jobs.
