There are two popular intakes in Singapore; the August and February intakes. The admission process for February 2026 will start after August 2025, at least 6 months before. In this six-month duration, you can plan for your activities to get admission.

Here is a detailed timeline for the Singapore February intake:

September- October 2025
  • Shortlisted 8-12 universities to which you wish to apply.
  • You must now be acquainted with the university websites and should have noted application requirements, deadlines etc before the Singapore intake officially begins.
October-November 2025
November - December 2025
  • Register for the GMAT/GRE.
  • Register for TOEFL/IELTS at least a month before the test date.
  • Take the required tests around December. Plan for buffer time in case you need to retake the test.

Things to Keep in Mind During Application

  • Shortlist the colleges and prepare for your application. Think hard about what makes you unique as an applicant and sketch out your strengths and self-assessment.
  • Contact your professors and direct managers for the required 2-3 reference letters. At least a month before your application deadline.
  • Begin drafting your SOP and essays. Give a month’s time to structure these documents properly.

  • Don’t delay replying to college e-mails.
  • Appear for personal/video interviews.

After Getting Admission Letter

If you received an admission letter from a university or college or Singapore then here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Once you get acceptance letters, make your decision as soon as possible.
  • Depending on the deadline, notify the universities of your decision.
  • You will need to pay a non-refundable deposit to confirm your admission.
  • Search for and begin applying for external scholarships (if applicable).
  • Apply for a student loan after you get your acceptance letter.
  • Gather paperwork for your student visa in Singapore. Check visa requirements.
  • Apply for a student visa in time. Keep some buffer time for the Singapore visa processing time.
  • Book airline tickets. You can explore student discount flights for affordable tickets
  • Arrange for an international debit/credit card.
  • Collect all the documents and their photocopies to take along.

Required Documents and Eligibility Criteria

Here is the list of documents which you need to have when you'll reach Singapore for higher studies:

  • Valid passport of a student with a validity of at least 6 months
  • Admission offer letter from University of Singapore
  • Student pass of Singapore e-form on SOLAR.
  • Recent passport size photos
  • Academic certificates and transcripts
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Proof of Funds
  • Health Insurance
  • Medical reports (if required by the university or Singapore ICA)
  • Proof of accommodation in Singapore
  • If you have scholarship or Education loan, then the approval letter of that.

The monthly living expenses in Singapore for Indian students is SGD 1,480 ( INR 95,129) excluding rent, where as the estimated monthly costs for a single person in India is INR 29,484, excluding rent.
