Indian student's death in US: Initial investigations rule out foul play

Indian student death at Boston University: Officials have said that the initial probe into the tragic incident has ruled out any foul play.

Adding to the tragic coincidences of deaths of Indian students in the USA, Paruchuri Abhijit, a 23-year-old Indian student at Boston University was found dead inside the campus of Boston University. Now, the Consulate General of India in New York has said that the initial investigation reveals that there was no foul play involved in the case. The probe is still going on in the case and the deceased student's parents are in direct touch with the investigators.

The Consulate General of India has expressed their sadness over the tragic death of the young student and also informed that they helped to render assistance in the documentation and transportation of his mortal remains to India.

 

As per the report of Livemint, his last rites have been performed in his hometown Tenali in Andhra Pradesh. Paruchuri Abhijit was the only son of his parents. US-based non-profit organisation TEAM helped to bring his mortal remains to India.

Nine Indians died of unnatural deaths in 2024 in US

Paruchuri Abhijit was 9th such death in this year where an Indian student below the age of 25 years died of an unnatural death. The other young Indians who found dead was Janhavi Kandula killed in a harsh driving by police officer in Seattle, Sameeth Kamath found dead on February 5, 2024, Shreyas Reddy, a student at the Linder School of Business, Vivek Saini and Neel Acharya, Amarnath Ghosh who was attacked while he was out for an evening walk. In January, this year, 18-year-old Indian student Akul Dhawan was found dead.

Indian American Community Living in Fear 

After the sudden deaths of Indian youngsters in the US, the Indian American Community are reportedly in great fear so much so that they are scared to travel alone. The social media platform X is full of reactions, one of the messages read, "Another Indian student dies in US, initial probe rules out foul play According to reports, since the beginning of 2024, there have been at least half a dozen deaths of Indian and Indian-origin students in the US."
