Steps Details
1. Get Admission First Obtain an admission/offer letter from a recognised New Zealand university or college.
2. Prepare All Your Documents
  • Valid Passport (must cover full study duration)
  • Offer of Place letter
  • Proof of funds (at least NZD 20,000/year)
  • Proof of tuition fee payment or arrangement
  • Return flight ticket or proof of funds
  • Health and travel insurance
  • Recent passport-sized photos
  • Police clearance certificate (if 17+)
  • Medical certificates or chest X-ray (if asked)
  • English language test scores (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE, etc.)
3. Register & Apply Online
  • Visit the Immigration New Zealand website
  • Create an Immigration Online account
  • Fill in the student visa application form
  • Upload scanned documents
  • Pay visa fee (NZD 850)
4. Health & Character Checks Provide medical exams or police certificates if requested by the embassy.
5. Track Your Application Check status and respond to extra document requests via your online account.
6. Get Your E-Visa If approved, you’ll receive your eVisa by email. Print and carry it along with supporting documents when you travel.
