Seoul is ranked the #1 best student city in the world in the QS Best Student Cities 2027 index with a perfect score of 100, followed by Tokyo (#2, 98.0) and London (#3, 97.3). Seoul also scored high for jobs after graduation. It is among the top 10 safest cities in the world.

To qualify for inclusion, a city must maintain a population exceeding 250,000 and host at least two ranked universities in the current QS World University Rankings. QS scores eligible cities using six standardized indicators (each weighted equally at 100 points):

• 5. Affordability: Compares average tuition fees at ranked universities alongside city-wide living costs, rent benchmarks, and student retail price indices.
