Aga Khan International Foundation’s Scholarship Programme (ISP)

A selected number of applicants qualify for the Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship Programme each year, applying for MS courses in USA. Indian students who are below the age of 30 years and with an exceptional academic record are usually considered for this scholarship. More details are as follows:

Applications for ISP are selected through an annual competitive process for international students. However, the application process for ISP is through the local offices of AKDM in the country of residence. Applicants applying for scholarships must reside in their home countries during submission. Applications for 2023-24 are closed, and for the next session of 2024-25, applications will open on Jan 1, 2024.

*Please note: Applicants will have to pay back 50% of the loan that they have taken as part of the scholarship obtained from the Aga Khan Foundation. The loan can be repaid once the applicant finishes his/her course of study or if they are in the last year of their study.

Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships

Indian applicants applying for MS courses anywhere in the USA can apply for Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships. These scholarships are only for master’s courses and for Indian aspirants. Around USD 100,000 is awarded to cover programme tuition costs as well as scholars’ living expenses, healthcare, and one-way airfare.







Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships Eligibility

Following are the eligibility criteria that are applicable for those who are applying for the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships:

  • Applicants must be Indian residents and passport holders.
  • Students must hold a first-class degree from a recognised Indian university.
  • While postgraduates from foreign countries are not eligible to apply. Also, those who are currently studying at a foreign university are not eligible to apply.
  • Those applying for admission to *Faculties of Social Science & Public Policy and Arts & Humanities only.
  • For Mathematics, Sciences, Environment and related subjects, candidates must have a minimum academic grade of 70% / CGPA 7.2 / or GPA 2.8 from a recognized university/institution.
  • For Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Fine Arts, Architecture and related subjects, candidates must have a minimum academic grade of 65% / CGPA 6.8 / or GPA of 2.6 from a recognized university/institution.

Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships Application Process

Application for this scholarship is accepted online with a valid passport. The scholarship portal will not accept applications that do not meet the academic and financial eligibility criteria given above.

Two letters of reference are mandatory and one must be from an academic referee are mandatory for application completion.

Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships Selection Process

The selection process for the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship is based on three steps of evaluation - review, preliminary interview and final interview. Applicants will be judged based on their past academic performance and future potential to fulfil their goals.

JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship

Applicable for master’s level students of Indian origin, the JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship award varies between INR 1,00,000 to INR 10,00,000. Apart from this, there is also a partial award of INR 50,000 as travel assistance. There are also gift awards from trustees which range between INR 2,00,000 and INR 7,50,000. Selection Criteria After the initial scrutiny, applicants will be shortlisted for an interview round. After the second interview, there will be a technical interview and a final interview before selection.

Awarded by Narotam Sekhsaria’s Foundation, this scholarship - Narotam Sekhsaria’s Scholarship awards loans worth USD 25,000 to Indian students. Only tuition and fee is covered by this scholarship and applicants are required to submit bachelor’s scores.

In order to qualify for Narotam Sekhsaria’s Scholarship, applicants will have to:

  • Hold an Indian passport and be an Indian resident too

The applications are accepted online for Narotam Sekhsaria’s Scholarship by mid-March annually. Applicants will have to adhere to the timelines and apply online through the scholarship website.

Generation Google Scholarship - USA

Another very popular scholarship for MS applicants in the USA is the Generation Google Scholarship, which awards around INR 8,00,000 and above worth of scholarships to international students. This is a merit-based scholarship offered for not just to master’s level applicants but also to bachelor’s level applicants. This scholarship only covers tuition costs and a few miscellaneous costs.
