UK-India TOEFL Scholarship is introduced to empower Indian students seeking study abroad options in the UK. A total of 10 Indian Scholars will receive a UK-India TOEFL® Scholarship worth INR 2.5 Lacs each to pursue Higher Education in the UK.

ETS and the National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) have announced the second edition of the UK-India TOEFL Scholarship, offering financial support to 10 exceptional Indian scholars. These scholars will be selected by a distinguished panel from NISAU and UK universities.

"We are delighted to partner with NISAU once again to offer the second edition of UK-India TOEFL Scholarship, the scholarship aligns with our mission of advancing equity and access to quality higher education globally. The TOEFL test remains the most widely accepted test of English-language proficiency and has enabled admissions of millions of deserving students to universities worldwide," said Sachin Jain, Country Manager of India and South Asia at ETS.

Second Edition of UK-India TOEFL Scholarship Details

The application process started on April 1 and applications are open until July 15, 2024. The scholarships will be announced on August 15, 2024. It is a significant opportunity for aspiring students who wish to pursue their studies in a UK university in Fall 2024/Spring 2025 to win a one-time scholarship of INR 2.5 Lacs.

The second edition of the UK-India TOEFL Scholarship will cover expenses such as tuition, books, transportation, etc. It is aimed to aid students committed to pursuing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programs in the UK.

Eligibility Criteria for Second Edition of UK-India TOEFL Scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum TOEFL® test score of 75 out of 120
  • An admission offer letter from a UK university for Fall 2024/Spring 2025

How to apply for Second Edition of UK-India TOEFL Scholarship

Applicants must submit their ETS ID to begin their process. The candidates who have scored 75 or above will be asked to:

  • Fill in details of their Grade 12 scores, Graduation scores
  • Write an essay on 'Creating a social impact with a UK-based Education' [500 words]
  • Provide a highlight of their personal & academic achievements

The Essay submission will be assessed along with other personal and academic credentials according to the applicant’s eligibility and the completeness of the supporting documentation submitted by July 15, 2024.







A maximum of ten (10) applicants will be selected and will be sent a notification from ETS India by Aug 15, 2024.

TOEFL Student Ambassador

The recipients of the second edition of the UK-India TOEFL Scholarship will act as TOEFL ambassadors during their studies, promoting the program and sharing their experiences. 

The successful recipients of UK-India TOEFL Scholarship will be required to do the following as a TOEFL Student Ambassador for the duration of their studies:

  • Representing as a TOEFL Student Ambassador at Events, Conferences, etc.
  • Contributing to marketing and promotional activities such as writing blogs, creating video testimonials, etc.
  • Participating in International student events
  • Engaging with the TOEFL program as a valued member of global alumni

The application process at the University of Manchester can change depending on course chosen and level of study. The steps to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the university are given as follows:

UG Application Process:

  • Student must apply through the UCAS common application portal.
  • They can go to the website and select the course that they are interested in.
  • Students are required to meet the eligibility requirements (Academic qualifications, English proficiency, etc.
  • Once they have decided on the course, the important documents are to be submitted such as SOP, Transcripts and personal statements.
  • You can track the application's progress through your given credentials by UCAS.
  • Once the applicant submits the application to UCAS, it forwards to the University, and the admission teams carefully analyse the application document.

  • Select the postgraduate course you are interested in from the University of Manchester.\
  • Ensure you meet the entry requirements for the chosen program, as they vary depending on the course.
  • Complete the online application by providing your personal information.
  • Upload the required documents, such as Academic transcripts and proof of English language proficiency ( TOEFL/ IELTS). experience in your fields and references (depending on the course). You also may require Two LORs depending on the course.
  • If your application is successful, you will receive an offer from the University of Manchester.
