Study abroad: University of Glasgow announces India Merit Award for 2024
There is no limit on the number of India Merit awards for 2024. The value of the University of Glasgow’s India Merit award for 2024 is £5000 tuition fee discount.
The University of Glasgow announced a new India Merit award for 2024 entry to acknowledge highly qualified Indian postgraduate taught offer holders. The scholarship is awarded as a £5,000 tuition fee discount. This discount cannot be combined with another University scholarship. The following are the criteria for the India Merit Award for 2024:
- Demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to UK 1st Class Honours
- Hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme for September 2024 intake
- Be domiciled in India
- Have international fee status
There is no application form for this scholarship. If you are eligible, the discount will be placed on your student account at registration.

The university also guarantees accommodation to the international students. This applies to new international undergraduate and postgraduate taught master's students applying for accommodation for a full academic session from September 2024.
Online accommodation process
Following is the accommodation process:
Stage 1 - registration: The first stage for all applicants is to register by clicking the REGISTER link on the login page. They need to provide UCAS/Application Number, surname, and date of birth.
Stage 2 - application: Login to our online application form and click Create Application to continue.
Stage 3 - accepting your contract: If your application is successful, you will receive notification of your accommodation offer via email. You can then follow the steps below to complete your contract acceptance:
- Login to view offer
- Proceed to view contract
- Accept accommodation contract
- Login to your Application Self-Service and pay £600 prepayment (Please note, your contract will be terminated if the prepayment is not received by the University prior to the offer expiry date.)
- Book pre-term accommodation if required
Stage 4 - online induction: Each August, Accommodation Services publishes the online induction for the forthcoming year.
Stage 5 - online inventory: Once you have checked in to your accommodation you are required to complete your online inventory check. This involves logging into your accommodation portal, accessing your room inventory and checking the condition of the items in your room against our records.
Stage 6 - managing your stay: Once you have settled into your accommodation you can continue to use the online accommodation system to manage your stay in our residences.

- Select the postgraduate course you are interested in from the University of Manchester.\
- Ensure you meet the entry requirements for the chosen program, as they vary depending on the course.
- Complete the online application by providing your personal information.
- Upload the required documents, such as Academic transcripts and proof of English language proficiency ( TOEFL/ IELTS). experience in your fields and references (depending on the course). You also may require Two LORs depending on the course.
- If your application is successful, you will receive an offer from the University of Manchester.
