If you are considering the UK as your study destination then this information will come in handy! By now, you already know how the backlogs affect your admission chances and which country is lenient than others while accepting students with backlogs. The most important thing to remember is that no university will accept your application active backlogs. Active backlogs are the backlogs that you are yet to clear.

Which countries accept backlogs?

Major countries like the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand accept applicants with backlogs. Some universities may also accept up to 15+ backlogs. On the other hand, countries like Germany and Ireland are quite strict about backlogs. There are only a few universities in these countries that may consider 2-3 backlogs given the fact that your IELTS/TOEFL or GRE/GMAT are good. Which UK universities accept backlogs?

UK universities are quite lenient while accepting applicants with backlogs. Most universities accept up to 15 or 15+ backlogs. However, it is important to note that the highly reputed universities may not consider applicants with even GRE/GMAT scores. As per their education system, UK universities is that they do not count the number of attempts as the number of backlogs, unlike Germany and Australia where they count the number of attempts as well. The list of universities below accept backlogs anywhere ranging from 5 to 15 backlogs:

Depends on the university if they feel the candidate's profile is a good fit. This basically depends on academic scores and extracurricular activities.

Quick question, what if someone has 1 or 2 backlogs but not cleared them, will they be still allowed for studies in any UK university?

The study gap has to be explained in this case and mentioning backlogs will again not grant admission. You can show some other course completion or work experience.
