The University College London first opened its doors back in 1826, under the name: University of London or London University, thanks to the efforts of its founders who were inspired by the ideas of Jeremy Bentham. It was the first university in London, and the first in England that was entirely secular.In 1878, it became the first university in the UK to set up a student union and admit women. Students can expect to hear back from the university by the end of April maximum but UCL tries to send its decisions even sooner. Some students may hear quicker than the others but this doesnt mean you should be discouraged as UCL is a university high in demand.
