University of Sheffield: Admissions open for 3-year Mechatronic & Robotic Engineering BEng course
The course will teach the students about fundamental concepts in mechatronic and robotic areas, including mathematics, intelligent system design, computing, control, electronics and embedded systems.
University of Sheffield, UK invited applications for its Mechatronic & Robotic Engineering BEng course which is scheduled to commence in September 2024.
This three-year course in mechatronic and robotic engineering will shape the students into a highly employable engineering graduate, according to the official statement.
Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria for the course:
- 80 % marks in Standard XII (India – CBSE, CISCE & Maharashtra State Board)
- 75 % in Standard XII (India – West Bengal Board)
- 85% in Standard XII (India – Other state board) - including maths and a science subject.
- IELTS grade of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component; or an alternative acceptable English language qualification
From a first year spent learning how to control robotic systems, and a second year exploring areas like programming (C++), mechanical design and intelligent systems, the students can go on to apply their skills to a practical project which includes designing a system using 3D CAD tools, and building robots in our innovative iForge Makerspace.
Through the course, the students will use industry-standard equipment, and learn about state-of-the-art applications in robotics, industrial control and advanced manufacturing.
In your third year they will take specialist modules that cover robotics and machine learning, amongst others – tailoring the degree with optional study areas, and getting detailed experience in the lifecycle of engineering projects through group work, added the statement.
The students may have the opportunity to add an optional placement year as part of their course, converting the three year course to a four-year Degree with Placement Year.
