History
The university began as the Alberta Normal School in 1906, thanks to the efforts of the citizens of Calgary that began in 1905. It was officially founded in Strathcona in 1908. In 1966, it received autonomy, and from there onwards continued to grow at a rapid rate, setting up 4 campuses in Calgary and an international campus in Doha, Qatar.
