History
The University of Calgary is a public research university established in 1966 located in Alberta, Canada. The university was formally known as the Normal School in Calgary and dates back to its roots around 1905. The primary purpose of the Alberta Normal School was to train primary and secondary school teachers and act as a satellite campus. Later in 1965, the Satellite campus gained its academic and financial autonomy and was recognized as an independent university. The university continued to grow and expand by introducing more buildings for Engineering, and Science, along with the launch of programs in Architecture.
