The Technical University of Munich (TUM) offers a Master of Science in Data Engineering and Analytics degree that lasts four semesters, or two years of full-time study.

The Technical University of Munich, being a public university was known to provide tuition-free studies to students irrespective of nationality.

However, starting from the 2024/25 winter semester, international students will be subjected to a tuition fee as specified by the universities.

Studies remain tuition-free for students from Germany, the European Economic Area or equivalent states as well as for students who have acquired their UG degree in the German Education System.

Those subjected to tuition fee can apply for waivers, exemptions & scholarships via the official university portal.

The TUM application fee is free of cost for Indians. However, students must pay tuition costs to join any UG and PG programs. The tuition cost is around INR 5 L for undergraduates and INR 23 L for postgraduates. In addition, they must have an extra budget for accommodation, transportation, food, and health insurance.

The Technical University of Munich is free for most of the programs. However, students must pay around INR 17L for an executive MBA, INR 4L for BBA programs, and INR 11L for MEng programs. Students must make some additional budget for other expenses including accommodation, food, transportation, books and supplies, and miscellaneous costs, along with the tuition costs.

Given below is a breakdown of the different costs students are expected to incur at TUM:

Undergraduate international applicants must hold a JEE Advanced score with excellent performance, or may appear for Studienkolleg, a one-year preparatory course along with the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) entrance exam. On the other hand, master's applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent, with required scores. Along with fulfilling the eligibility requirements, students must submit GRE, GMAT, or GATE exam results, GPA scores, and transcripts as per the German academic standards and English language requirements.

An APS certificate is required for a German visa, which will not be used during the TUM application through uni-assist but is mandatory before enrollment. Students can apply for the APS certificate via the APS India office in New Delhi. They must submit academic documents like Class 10, 12, and bachelor's transcripts, passport, and application fee (INR 18k). After verification, students will receive APS certification. Students are strictly advised to adhere to the university deadlines.
