  • A professional degree in architecture (BArch or MArch) or landscape architecture (BLA, MLA). Applicants with a degree in urban planning (MCP, MUP, or MScPl) may be considered for admission if they are able to demonstrate design potential in their application portfolio

  • A final year average of at least mid-B from the University of Toronto or its equivalent from a recognized university

  • Applicants may be required to complete design and/or visual communication workshops before they begin the MUD program, to prepare them for the design studio component of the MUD curriculum

  • India specific requirements:-
    • Minimum GPA: 1st Class/Div or 8.0/10; 7.5/10 from Indian Institutes of Technology
    • A Minus GPA: 1st Class/Div or 9/10; 8.5/10 from Indian Institutes of Technology
    • B Plus GPA: 1st Class/Div or 8.5/10; 8/10 from Indian Institutes of Technology
    • Bachelors Equiv: Bachelor`s Degree, requiring a minimum of 4 years of study (e.g. BPharm, MBBS, BDS, BTech, BEng, BArch, etc.) or completion of BOTH a Bachelor`s (three-year) degree and a Master`s
    • Masters Equiv: MPhil; MTech; MEng; MSc (Eng)

  • A three-year bachelor's degree is only accepted if it is followed by a master's degree

  • With minimum score 6.5 in each component

English Proficiency Waiver
  • Applicants are not required to submit proof of proficiency in English if they have obtained their admitting degree from an institution recognized by the University of Toronto and where the language of instruction and examination is uniformly English
    • The language of instruction and examination must be verified by the graduate unit and/or the School of Graduate Studies. Applicants should provide an official academic transcript with a note confirming the use of English as the language of instruction and examination

  • All applicants must submit a portfolio of design work for review. Admission is based on the merits of the applicant's overall academic background and strength of design portfolio as evaluated by the admissions committee
