It only feels expensive when you don't fully utilize the university's facilities.
Tips: I suggest the newly arriving students to attend all the lectures and all the university events. There are many things that go on in the university. There are a lot of clubs and they have a lot of activities in the clubs. So whoever has similar tastes and hobbies can have a good vibe.
Likes (Indian Food): There are some good number of Indian restaurants in Melbourne so that was not a problem for me. Sometimes the taste is a bit less spicy but experience with the food is not that bad. Not just Indian, there are a lot of good cuisines from all over the world.
Dislikes (Part time work): My university did not help that much in finding part time. I got it on my own through my references back from my country where they helped me in referring a couple of jobs in and around Melbourne. I was lucky I got a part time job a bit early. But there are some who still did not got any.

Deakin:A place to belong
Tips: The thing is you'll find a lot of Indian students here. This will help you in the transition making it easier. A bit of cultural shift and I'm sure you guys will adapt. No scholarships.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport is something which is really good. Buses every 10 minutes and you've trams as well. Connectivity shouldn't be an issue. One point to note is that travelling time might be higher in some cases. Eg: 10 km will take about an hr.
Dislikes (Part time work): As a student who is new, finding a part time job can be overwhelming especially not knowing where to start from. The only thing to remember is to reach out for referrals. Finding a job with referrals will make the job search 10 times easier.

Beautiful, supportive and reliable.
Tips: I have observed a huge cultural shift, especially during Indian festivals. They do celebrate here, but it can't be compared with the celebrations in India. I got a 25% scholarship, applying online. If you are coming through agents, always make sure to double-check the information provided by the agent. I have come across multiple Indian students who were cheated by their agents, only to extort money from them. If people have experience from India, then they won't find the course very useful. Although the professors provide huge support to students in their academics so make sure to reach out and don't be shy.
Likes (Indian Food): If students are looking for Indian restaurants, then I would say Clayton has many restaurants. I prefer cooking at home since I can manage my calorie intake. The average rate for a meal would be 30 AUD. I would highly recommend trying different cuisines as well.
Dislikes (Part time work): I would recommend that students always check their student job portals for availability on-campus part-time jobs. The pay rate is very good. Sometimes managing part-time work along with academics might be a bit difficult but try to balance everything.

Deakin University increases fees every year, so living on campus is expensive.
Tips: One thing that students should know before coming to this university is that the teaching style is quite different from that in India and there won't be regular classes and exams as we are accustomed to in India. Students need to make themselves more practical-oriented and focus on balancing their studies with other chores. Some other important points to note are that university fees increase every year, and living inside the university accommodation is expensive, as compared to living outside.
Likes (Safety): Deakin always has security officers present at the university 24/7. Also they have an app called Safe Zone using which the campus security team can access our location. There are different options available on the application, using which we can call the campus support services.
Dislikes (Internships): It's not hard to get into chips, but in Australia, colleges don't place students and you are responsible for finding your own internships. Thankfully Deakin has a team called "DeakinTalent" that can provide some guidance on building a resume and LinkedIn profile. Still, you're left to your own devices to take full advantage of these resources.

Deakin University is academically demanding but rewarding.
Tips: Before joining, know it's academically demanding but rewarding. Transitioning was tough at first cultural shift hit hard, but I got adapted in about 2 months. I got a merit-based scholarship with a decent discount on my studies.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is one of the best things in Melbourne. Trains, trams and buses - they connect every small area which you can not even think of. Everything runs on a smart card system called Myki, and services are generally frequent, reliable and easy to navigate for newcomers.
Dislikes (Internships): Honesty internships are not really the culture here. Instead, you usually get part-time jobs, working alongside professors as assistants and getting paid for that experience. However, typically you need to be at least in your second year of studies and have a decent academic standing to do this.

The university is diverse, has a great culture, and really puts students first.
Tips: Deakin University is a great place to study. I like that the university is diverse, has a great culture, and really puts students first. It has several campuses, but Burwood is the main one. It's a fun university with a very diverse and friendly student body.
Likes (Safety): Melbourne or other cities in Australia are super safe because of super friendly people, there is a strong sense of community, and it is a developed country, so services like police help or ambulance are very great and fast. Australia is also very clean.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I want permanent residence, or PR or citizenship of Australia because it is a very good country and very diverse in culture, with proper safety and also the work-life balance is great. Career growth is best in Australia, and you can also change careers very easily.

Easy going, fun loving and friendly university.
Tips: Students should know that it's an amazing place to come to and pursue their degree. We get to meet people from various cultures and learn about different people and their lives. Moreover, we get to try more things, explore new places around us and it's always a better experience.
Likes (Quality of faculty): What I enjoy the most is the campus, it holds so many events and games every day, most of the events have freebies and rewards, which encourage us to be a part of it. There are a lot of clubs for different people like I'm a part of the Indian club which organises events for Indian students and doesn't make them feel left out.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The teachers and the faculty have been really kind, and they understand the students deeply and try to help us whenever we are stuck at some point. Moreover it doesn't require any physical studies; all of it is digital which enables us to easily access the content or assignments from anywhere. Plus it has benefits for the environment as it reduces paper waste.

Deakin University: Innovative, inclusion and industry redlines.
Tips: I have transitioned in many ways, and Australia has changed my point of view in each and every way. There was not much of a cultural shift. The people of Australia are very friendly and have a welcoming nature. In the beginning, it was pretty tough because I didn't have friends or relatives. But it made me the most, the strongest, and self-powerful, and that is what independence means. Public transportation is the best in the city. It is affordable, accessible, and convenient. It costs me $300 monthly, which I feel is a good rate. The buses are frequent, which is also helpful.

Great learning environment and highly knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: I think if you just know the basic cultural slang of Australia, you are good to go. People here are really nice, so try meeting new people, talking to them, and making friends everywhere, and you will never feel homesick. If you don't feel homesick, everything would be easy for you. The faculty is very sweet and helpful, everything is so smooth with them, and I have never faced any problem talking to them. We're provided with multiple ways to talk to them, like through messages, through regular meetings for our doubts, or in person during doubt sessions.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I am sure that I would be able to get a permanent residence very easily, and, if I were given a chance, I would settle in this country because of the work environment, easily accessible public health facilities, cleanliness, and everyone is so nice here.

Student Life at Deakin is wonderful and vibrant. There is a mix of cultures with no discrimination.
Tips: Deakin offers a vibrant life and good faculty with plenty of scholarship opportunities and internships for students. The people at Deakin helped me adjust to the cultural shift very well. The quality of faculty is exceptionally good. My instructors are very knowledgeable and offer a lot of support. They are really helpful when I need support or advice on my studies.
Likes (Post study jobs): Student life at Deakin is wonderful and vibrant. They offer various activities to keep students happy and healthy. There is a mix of cultures with no discrimination and various activities that keep the students engaged. They offer various clubs which keep the student going.

There are innumerable post-study work opportunities after graduation.
Tips: Be prepared to hear "no" from a lot of employers since it's hard to get jobs here. And make sure you have a driver's license. It's a wise decision to settle or plan to settle in Australia, as immigration is mostly streamlined. However, it has delays, but the Skilled Occupation List and Skilled Shortage List help people determine whether their studies are needed.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are innumerable post-study work opportunities after graduation, and the university also has an employment cell to get you trained or ready for a job. There are multiple options of working on campus in university jobs as well as finding a job elsewhere in the city. It’s not as bad as the UK.

Navigating culture, community, and course choices.
Tips: Students should always select courses based on personal research. Also, make sure to keep up with the frequent changes to immigration rules. Me, as a girl from a joint family and coming to an unfamiliar country miles away from my family, found the initial days difficult. The cultural differences were vast, but because everyone here was welcoming, it didn't take me long to become a part of the community. I am very satisfied with my university and course, but I do wish I had done some research before taking my course instead of blindly listening to my counsellor.
Likes (Quality of faculty): All the faculty are accessible via email. Each subject has mentors in addition to professors. The teaching methodology is unique and doesn't use textbooks. All course materials are accessible online. The teaching staff comes from a variety of countries. We learn more practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge.
Dislikes (Value for money): The selection of any university is okay. It’s not that you only have to study in high-end universities. Where ever you study it’s the same. At last, all that matters is your skills and experience. I think instead of sticking to the same university from start to finish, I had to explore more universities before applying to a high-end university.

There aren't many events at Deakin but there are lots of students clubs and are quite active.
Tips: One thing to remember is that the education system is very different from India. I struggled quite a lot to adjust to this system and eventually pulled through but it was quite hard to. I do have a scholarship, and it covers a good amount of my fee. My friends are on a 100% scholarship which I couldn't qualify for because of age restrictions and they completed internationally for the Deakin Vice-Chancellor International 100% Scholarship. It is a difficult competition but I would fully recommend trying out for it because giving it a shot could give you better results than you think. I am satisfied with my experience here, the course and country are both wonderful and I love it here. It's definitely a wonderful university and I would completely recommend it.
Likes (Public transportation): There are bus options and tram options round the clock. Victoria's public transport is expensive going up to 10 dollars a day. But Deakin specifically offers student discounts that cut down costs by almost 50% so it's definitely cheaper than it's supposed to be however, most universities don't do this.
Dislikes (Student Life): My days are usually just studying and hanging out with my friends. I enjoy the beautiful vast campus with all the cool buildings and spots to study and hill, studying here doesn't really feel like studying, it just feels like a fun activity. There aren't many events at Deakin, but the clubs are quite active and arrange many programs for the club members. I participate in quite a lot, considering I am a club executive, but it wouldn't be the same for someone who doesn't actively look to get involved in activities. Lots of student clubs, I believe over 100 are present at Deakin. Indian communities, religious communities, fashion communities, tech and art and lots more.

Deakin University does not provide many opportunities for students for jobs.
Tips: The transition was smooth, as everyone here was very friendly and helpful. I experienced a very little cultural shift but in a very positive way. I got a 25% scholarship, which was a huge help. The university is huge and has lots of facilities, and the course is very interesting. There is a direct tram and bus service from the university to various parts of Melbourne. The teaching is very interesting, and the instructors discuss real-life scenarios instead of just teaching from a book. The teaching faculty is also diverse in terms of nationality. The city of Melbourne is very welcoming, and I would highly recommend this university to any international student. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Deakin University.
Dislikes (Part time work): The university does not provide many opportunities for students to work part-time. However, there are many part-time job opportunities available in Melbourne. Part-time work is manageable because students cannot work more than 48 hours per fortnight due to visa restrictions. The average hourly pay rate is between 25 and 31 aud.

Tips: I had a challenging time adjusting to my freedom and the diverse cultures at Deakin. However, the inclusive environment at Deakin helped me adjust. I received a 25% Deakin International Scholarship based on academic merit, which helped offset the cost of tuition. The faculty is very helpful and many on-campus events are happening so try as much to participate in them and build connections. The course is aligned with my goals, and the supportive environment at Deakin and in Australia is good. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience at Deakin.

The university is good and there are a lot of part-time opportunities.
Tips: There is a huge cultural difference, so get a part-time job as soon as possible and learn how to speak to locals and their culture. Students coming in might feel disconnected, but don't give up. Everyone feels the same. Just try to adjust and be open to all new things. Join international student communities to make friends. I had a 25% scholarship which helped me a lot. I got it based on my previous grades. I did the first two years of my 2+2 course in India and got the scholarship based on those two years. The course is fine, and the university doesn't matter. The country is awesome. There are some problems, but no place is perfect. This is one of the best in my opinion. The minimum pay itself is very high, and jobs are available.
Likes (Indian Food): There are all types of food from around the world available, but the prices are quite high, especially for students. Eating out every day is not feasible, so I cook for myself, which is more cost-effective. There are tiffin services that provide two meals for 10-15 dollars, so that is another option.
Dislikes (Value for money): In Australia, nobody cares about your college but only your skills and network determine whether you get a job. Even if you do the same course at a college with much lower fees, it won't make any difference. When you apply for a job, there are two steps to getting your resume selected: one is knowing someone in the company, and the next is having the required skills. If you have no network or connections, you'll have to put in the same amount of effort whether you're from Melbourne University or any other college.

Deakin University has many opportunities and extensive student union programmes.
Tips: Deakin provides the Vice-Chancellor 100% meritorious scholarship which is a must-try for all those who want to study based on scholarship. Also, Deakin has multicultural aspects of education. So you will feel yourself as warm as in your home. Deakin Talent which is a co-allied organisation within Deakin allows students to have personalised job coaching, internship search and resume training. Deakin Legal Advocacy services are designed to safeguard the rights of students and also to assist with legal concerns. We also have peer mentor services and wonderful study guides. The faculty are extremely accessible and always available to help you out, solve your queries and support you. They conduct lectures, seminars and practicals so that students can get the best angle of understanding and the most surreal view of learning. The activities and interactions done during the teaching period are another great bonus that is a stepping stone towards building work-ready skills.
Likes (Internships): Deakin has numerous opportunities and an extensive student union programme. This allows us as students to exercise our full potential. The campus has all the facilities for students to learn and grow. We also have cultural events as well as sportive activities. We have clubs like the Deakin Debating Society, Deakin Badminton Society, Deakin Teddy Bear Hospital, Deakin Writers Club, Deakin Women's Exclusive, Deakin Social Club and a lot more ventures.

Wonderful college environment and life changing experience.
Tips: Coming to Australia and doing everything on your own will teach you essential life skills that will mould you into a person of character. Doing part-time jobs while managing assignment deadlines will test your time- mangled skills. Cooking healthy foods and avoiding the temptation to get takeout requires great self-control. On top of everything, you won't have your parents to tell you what to do, so self-discipline is the only thing that will take you places. All in all, it was a life-changing experience, and you should enjoy every minute of it.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I would definitely love to settle in Australia, and one key point to remember is that as long as you have a job related to your field, you will get PR 99% of the time. Some degrees provide you with the ability to find work quickly, while others do not. However, as long as you have a good understanding of your subjects and a good skill set, you will find jobs after some time, which will help lead to PR.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I would suggest that the best way to save money is to cook your own food. There are a lot of Indian restaurants in Melbourne, and you can find a lot of vegetarian options on campus. There is also a nice Italian restaurant around the corner, and Subway and Domino's give student discounts to Deakin students.

I feel truly loved, accepted and supported at Deakin.
Tips: Deakin University is a great place to grow both your soft skills and technical skills. While there has not been any major cultural shift, I have definitely become more open to people from different cultural backgrounds and work well with them as a team. International students typically receive a scholarship of about 10-15%, and the university also offers a vice chancellor's scholarship, which provides a full scholarship to students who have demonstrated extraordinary extracurricular participation in their previous schools.
Likes (Internships): The university has its own internship programs, which provide students with opportunities to work in a corporate setting while they are still in school. This is a great type of internship opportunity for students. Deakin also has collaborations with other companies, so when those companies have openings, Deakin students get an edge over other applicants.
Dislikes (Part time work): The on-campus part-time jobs are great, but they are not always easy to get into because of their limited availability. The average pay is 21 to 22 dollars per hour, but some jobs at fuel stations pay 35 to 40 Dollars per hour. It is difficult to do both work and study, but students can try to avoid scheduling conflicts by taking advantage of the university's flexible class schedule.

Good opportunities and growth.
Tips: The transition was quite smooth. Macquarie has a very inclusive and diverse environment, and professors are approachable. The teaching style is more interactive compared to India with a lot of teamwork, case studies and class discussions. The cultural shift mainly comes from learning to be more independent and proactive, but you adjust quickly because everyone supportive. I got the basic scholarship of AUD 20000. It is given to all the Indian students.
Likes (Student Life): There are lots of places to chill, study and eat. I get to meet new people every day which helps me get to know about their culture. I have joined the table tennis club, squash club and Indian Society. Lots of events are organised in the university often.
Dislikes (Value for money): The curriculum of my course is very practical as they are teaching us all the software which are used in the corporate world. Guest lecture from different big companies comes often to share their experiences and also the faculty is very supportive.

Once in a lifetime experience.
Tips: It definitely was a bit difficult initially like the way everything was electronically like assignments, lectures and so on, but I received equal help from everyone at every step. This university made sure I was aware about this country and how everything works since most of us were international students who came to Australia for the first time. I received a 10,000 scholarship and every university has some scholarships that they let u know when u receive the confirmation letter. Lack of job opportunities but this country is fabulous.
Likes (Indian Food): There are ample of Indian restaurants, cafes and various small street food corners especially in Indian community localities. They are slightly expensive if u compare them with INR but it's better than nothing. Since I love cooking, I prefer home cooked meals. Only occasionally I visit restaurants.
Dislikes (Value for money): I feel it's slightly expensive compared to other university in different cities. A degree can open doors to better jobs and a potential higher salary, the actual success in securing these opportunities might not be fully realized by the University boards, making this investment feel less certain. If the university would have provided strong career support or direct industry connections, the financial investment may feel fully justified rather than partial.

Good college, but the curriculum needs improvement.
Tips: The lifestyle is much more relaxed and peaceful here compared to India. You can easily balance studies, sports and other interests if you want to. While I am moderately satisfied with my university and course I really enjoy living in Australia.
Likes (Safety): The university offers various facilities and programs both on-campus and online to support the mental health of its students. These initiatives ensure that every student feels safe and welcome. I've found that everyone I've met here is very friendly and welcoming.
Dislikes (Value for money): Personally I feel the syllabus could be improved. Given the tuition fees I believe we should be taught more relevant and valuable material. For the current syllabus it might be better to attend a more affordable university as skills are ultimately what matter in securing good employment.

Outstanding, Informative
Tips: Whether you are aiming for permanent residency (PR) or not it is important to select your course accordingly. There was a cultural shift but it helps you grow into a calmer composed and goal-focused individual. I received a scholarship of AUD 20,000 over two years.

Great university, good faculty and facilities.
Tips: The university has been challenging, but I am now able to excel in the areas of Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI. I now have the knowledge and skills I need to excel. The faculty is very helpful and accessible. Just try to be active and engage during classes.

If you don't mind walking, studying here will be amazing.
Tips: Honestly, apart from the massive campus and the amount of walking that needs to be done to get from one end to another, it is a great university. Staff are knowledgeable and respectful, services are well thought out and easily accessible. The campus has its own metro station, with great train and bus connectivity. It's also located near the city centre, so getting around is easy. However, it is Sydney so public transport can be unreliable and expensive.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Genuinely just a crowded city, the government is striking down immigration, and I would not recommend settling down in Sydney purely due to the overcrowdedness and its effects on immigrants. That being said, it also does have a massive amount of Indian population in Sydney to stay in touch with others of the same origins or to have a place like home.

Great university with supportive faculty.
Tips: Before coming to Macquarie University, it's helpful to know the structure of the university and the cultural shifts that you'll encounter. Shops usually close at 6 pm and cafes at 2 pm. However, there is a lot of good vegetarian food available. The faculty are supportive and will help us with our assignments. I'm super satisfied with my course and unit learning as they are more practical-based.

The campus is great and the pond with a fountain in the center is a panoramic view.
Tips: It took some sort of time to adjust to Australia's education system because it's very different from India. We daily had fixed lectures from 7 am to 2 pm. But here you can set your own timetable according to your feasibility and you have to do self-study before attending the workshops of your unit. As an Indian international student, I got 20000 AUD scholarships. I'm very much satisfied with Macquarie University and the course I'm learning.
Likes (Safety): CCTV cameras are installed throughout the campus. Plus the security team patrols the whole university. Till now I didn't have any bad experiences. The nightlife isn't that great in Sydney. Everybody is at home by 7 pm and everything shut off by 9 pm. You can't see anyone after that time. But it's a part of the routine now, so it doesn't matter.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Transportation to Macquarie University is pretty much sorted. It has its own metro station and is a 10-minute walk from the main campus building. Bus connectivity is the same. Overall affordability is average because the transportation fare in Sydney is extremely high compared to Melbourne. No doubt the services are good but it shouldn't be that costly for students.

It was a good choice to choose Australia.
Tips: The only thing that I faced was that I couldn't eat proper Indian food, and ordering in was quite expensive. I got a 20,000 scholarship from the university. IDP applied for my scholarship. I am pretty satisfied with my course even though it is difficult to get pr. I think If you study hard enough you can get decent jobs here.
Likes (Safety): Sydney is very safe that is what I have experienced. You can travel late. Most of the places have security cameras which adds to the security. There are helplines and regular activities that can help international students who are feeling a little depressed about staying away from home like a free counselling session.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of getting pr are quite difficult in Australia, as some courses and jobs are more favourable, if you get into them, like teaching your chances of getting pr will increase immensely. I am not sure about permanent staying in this country, as I find life in India quite convenient. But the liberal mindset is something that is very appealing in Sydney.

It is a good university with various opportunities.
Tips: It is a very good university and the faculty members are very good. There was no cultural shift. I got the scholarship while I was enrolling at the university. The environment is good and people are very helpful over here. If you face any kind of stress people are here to help you out. Talking about the country it's a bit too early to comment but so far it's good. Also, almost every food contains beef. At a minimum, you have to spend around 10 Dollars for good food. I prefer cooking because it saves a lot of money. I prefer eating at home and if you want to buy groceries, you can get it from Aldi and Coles. I am very satisfied with the university.

Great college campus with lots of activities and friendly faculty.
Tips: Students should know that there is a cultural difference and you meet people from different races and backgrounds. Some might be rude, some might help you but you will also find Indians especially since my university has the most diverse culture in Sydney. I got a scholarship of INR 10 Lakhs. Overall, I am satisfied with my campus and university.
Likes (Safety): The law in Australia is strict, which makes it difficult to commit crimes. The area where I live has excellent security, especially my off-campus apartment building, which requires keycard access to enter. I feel very safe here.
Dislikes (Internships): The university doesn't provide campus placement, so we have to find our own internships. Also, we get rejected for internships because of visa requirements. However, I do have friends who have gotten internships, so it is possible. My field is data science, and it is easier to get an internship in this field.

The university is vibrant with great student life.
Tips: I found it a bit of a cultural shift coming to Macquarie University. There are a lot of Asians here, and not many Indians. But there are a good number of Indians here, and I've made some good friends. I got a scholarship of 10 Lacs rupees as an Indian student and Indians get a 3 year post study visa after they graduate. I am satisfied with my university however I could have done a dual degree so consider that before applying for any courses.
Likes (Part time work): When I came here, the recession was going on and it took me 6 months to get my part-time job. I got other opportunities as well easily and the pay rate is the best in the whole world at 26 Dollars an hour. Just improve your resume according to the job role requirements.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Usually, it is a heaven for people who eat non veg food where we have great options on university campus with more than 10 outlets across the campus and also there is a malls just Next to the university. As a vegetarian it is difficult for me to find restaurants near my location near Macquarie in Sydney however the Indian area called Paramatta has Indian options.

Life at Macquarie University is good. Try to connect with student bodies.
Tips: Students should know that there's going to be big changes coming your way. Embrace each day as it comes. Learn and unlearn. There's a solution for everything. There are student bodies that will help you steer through all problems. Always be yourself and trust that you are capable of making a difference. Make friends, and have fun but know that you are your best friend.
Likes (Safety): I have never felt like I needed an escort to go back home even at 1 am. I have always felt very safe. The people are very nice and friendly and they are always there to help you out. Sydney is a very safe city, especially in today's world.

The college is well managed and friendly.
Tips: Students should be mentally prepared to study and prepare for classes. The academic environment is really nice in the university and lectures are friendly too but you should be prepared to ask questions to the lecturers whenever you have any. Be as open as possible and participate in events, activities and campaigns and build connections.
Likes (Safety): Sydney is one of the safest places to live. The crime rate is very low, and I feel safe when I am travelling at midnight too. The sense of security is really good, I can walk freely around the city. Also, the encounter with police that I have had always been satisfactory.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I do prefer cooking outside because the food outside is not that great and I'm pretty much disappointed by the taste in most of the places. There are not many options available near the place where I live, and the places available charge for food excessively so I prefer cooking.

The university environment is great and supportive.
Tips: Students should know that there is a 10k AUD scholarship per year for South Asian students. Assignments are completely research-based, unlike Indian universities where you have to mug things up. Part-time jobs are a must. You have to be independent. It is not shameful to work.
Likes (Public transportation): Macquarie University is the only University that has a metro station. It drops us off right outside of campus. Apart from the metro, buses are available as well. Transport costs are not that expensive. Keep in mind that we do not get student concessions.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Most Indian food in Australia is catered for native Australians and is not authentic. Most Indian food options are North Indian and as a South Indian, it would be nice to see some variety. I prefer cooking Indian food at home and not eating outside.

Great cultural diversity and experience.
Tips: There was an expected cultural shift when coming here, but it was not difficult. Sydney is so multicultural that diversity is the norm and making connections once I adjusted a bit more and found my groove was very seamless. I did avail of a 10,000$ early acceptance scholarship that I was automatically assessed for when I submitted my application. Overall, I am very satisfied with my university, course and Australia as a whole.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in Sydney is unarguably the best in all of Australia. Something I love about Macquarie is how it is the only Australian University to have its own Metro station which makes accessibility seamless. Public transport is widespread throughout the outer suburbs as well and is quite affordable.
Dislikes (Internships): There are a lot of highly relevant internships available both at university and outside the university. Something I appreciate about Macquarie University is how much the faculty helps you and guides you in finding a starting point as an undergraduate student in your professional career via the PACE unit. This is a compulsory internship unit offered by the university that goes into depth regarding the scientific field and what companies are actively scouting for.

Good university with knowledgeable faculty and great transportation facilities.
Tips: There was no major shift, the transition was smooth. The university does give good chances for scholarships, especially for gifted students both in sports and education which always helps in funding for students for daily allowance or tuition fee. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the course, college and the country.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Australia has some good options regarding visas and has some good categories for people with at least a degree to get into permanent options without the country and this is mainly a thing that is more inclined towards a government thing rather than the university but the university has some well-recognised degrees throughout the country and internationally.
Dislikes (Internships): The university does provide you to get into a work experience programme which is always good to enter and get a taste of the field you're planning to get into and is always a crucial thing when applying for graduate programs and further options.

University is beautiful. Fun learning experiences.
Tips: Make sure you know what you are doing. The choices you made will reflect on the rest of your journey in Australia. Be wise as you'll find a cultural shift that you need to adapt. Each university has a certain set of scholarships for Indian students make sure you get all the details before you enroll. The university is good but the course that I took Engineering Management is not registered/ recognised by Engineers Australia which evaluates your academics. Make sure whatever your choice of course is you choose is recognised under respective boards. Also have a look at skilled occupations list.
Likes (Safety): Sydney suburbs and other suburbs around the unis are quite safe and calm. Law enforcement is good. It's just that you won't find frequent buses to travel after 9pm. Except the CBD, and few suburbs. Rest all are dead street after 9pm. It is 98% safe always to travel alone at nights too.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It all depends on what courses you are doing and the relevant experience that you have with respect to the Immigration skilled occupation list. Do prior research on the courses you want to pursue. Aligning your interests, goals and skilled occupation list to meet the points to get PR.
